These are essentially a midlevel option if you're looking at higher security cylinders for your home or business.

Now I've shown many multi locks before on this channel, and what makes them unique is the concentric pin design.

If we look at this cut away, we can see it quite easily.

You can see there's a pin inside of another pin, and that's in each of the five chamber, so 10 pins in total.

I've often said that the hardest part of picking these locks is precision pick placement.

It's something that took a while for me to learn.

Well, enter this tool.

It was just sent to me by George at Geo Locksmith in Brooklyn.

And he is, I believe, the North American distributor for it.

It's called the Road or pick, and it seems, designed to make pick placement, the easy part of picking multi locks, and I think it does that quite well.

Lateral pick placement, that is, movement from side to side is controlled very tightly by the mechanism.

You don't see any side to side movement, and the depth is controlled by moving this knob, and you have guide marks on both the knob and the lock body, so you know exactly where you are in the lock.

Now you still need to know how to pick multi locks, but it does take a major variable out of the equation.

Essentially helps you make the most of your existing picking skills.

Now, what about drawbacks?

Well, this tip or the frame of the tip, I should say, will fit many of the most popular multi lock key ways.

But you may need others, which you will have to buy separately.

George sent me one extra for a few different key ways.

Second, the pick tip.

The part that actually moves and lifts up the pins is very, very long, and that makes for a fair bit of twisting flex.

You can see it's from here all the way to the front of that knob.

That's about double a normal dimple pick that translates into slightly degraded feel.

But I think it's a trade off that many pickers would make.

It is, however, very noticeable.

Now it bears note that I am probably not the best person to evaluate how much this helps with picking multi locks.

And that's because I have a fair bit of experience picking these.

So what I did to get a better idea of how it would help someone inexperienced was take it to a tool meeting.

Tool is an acronym for the open organization of lock pickers, and I put this in the hands of someone who had never picked any sort of dimple lock before, and he opened a multi lock in 15 minutes.

I think that was more impressive to me at least than anything that I've done with this pick.

Okay, enough talk.

Let's get this locking device and I will show you how this tool works.

I'll try to arrange this to give you the best possible view of the picks operation.

Okay, now, on multi lock interactives, you always go for the outer pin on to first.

It's like the free spot on a bingo card.

You always know it'll be set very high.

We got a bit of a false set, so let's go back to the beginning and start setting the other outer pins.

I got one.

That's three.

That was four And that was five going back.

I think I'm stuck on the inner pin on three.

I got a little click out of him.

Nothing on one.

I think the inner pin on two needs some help.

I got a nice click there and a much deeper false set.

Nothing on the inner or outer on three.

Click on the inner pin on four.

Quick on the inner pin on five.

Quick on the inter pin on one and we got this open.

As you can see, that was pretty darn fast.

Okay, let's take this lock apart and I will show you what's inside.

Okay, To take this apart, we need a Phillips screwdriver.

Let's get a pinning tray out here is Well, OK now.

We should just need the key and a follower to open this up.

Oh, I lost a ball bearing in the side.

That's an anti pick feature.

I'll have to find that later.

I'm sorry.

An anti drill feature, I should say.

Okay, looks like we have a spooled out or pin on one.

All standards in two spooled out of pin on three spooled outer pin on five.

Quite a few security pins here.

Get all of these.

Arrange.

Then I'll take the driver.

Pins out.

Okay, Driver pin number one has a spooled inner and outer pen.

Number two has a standard outer and a spool dinner spooled inner and outer on three.

Same on four and same on five.

Let's drop all these springs out.

They should all be the same.

And indeed they are.

How these multi lock interactives have a really interesting feature, and that is a little bit of counter milling on the inside of these outer pins and spooling on the inner pins that essentially locks them together.

It's hard to show it to you, but it is.

Or at least it can be very tricky to peck.

Okay, let me give you a close up of all this, okay?

For the inner keep ins, they're all standards than for the outer keep ins.

We have a spool top in slot 13 and five and standards in slots two and four.

Then we have that inner counter milling.

That's only on slots two and four, I believe, than for the driver.

Pens in slots.

134 and five.

We have spooled inner and outer pins and then for slot to.

We have a standard outer pin and a spooled inner.

So not a bad selection of pins.

But as you saw, this rotor pick made short work of it.
