  • What's up, guys?

  • Is forcing night and welcome toe Idea journey Episode six We're gonna start off right where we left off.

  • Reminded journey upset five where we ended Going over, I believe Strings Yes.

  • Strings on lecture 16 to section two.

  • Now we're gonna get into lecture 17 which is composed of about 14 problems.

  • Just basic X code swift problems that he wants us to complete in order to really, you know, put it into practice.

  • We're also going to go over functions, event and some other ideas development stuff as well.

  • A sum like nuggets.

  • You know, Cem knowledge nuggets that will help people for the future, whether it's in software development in general or just life in general definitely will help you know about making sure you learn, you know, for the rest of your life.

  • And that's really like for programmer.

  • You're running forever.

  • Think about just last year, where was Swift?

  • Just two years ago.

  • Three years ago on your notes came out where it was.

  • Swift wasn't even invented yet, but there are so many swift developers.

  • Even if the developer has been developing for 20 plus years, anyone to learn swift, that's the thing he had to learn Swift were to be learning for the rest of our lives as long as we want to program or really anything else in life in order to progress it to learn.

  • So we're gonna get to that.

  • First, let's get into how to market in IOS application, or at least how I'm gonna market my IOS application.

  • So Oh, honey, say this first, I'm not necessarily marketing my application to my YouTube channel or I won't win.

  • It's complete because, normally same market.

  • Now, I'm not saying my future subscribers current subscribers won't download it because, you know, however long it takes me from, you know, like a month ago, until I complete it, people are gonna want to see what I've been working so hard for so long.

  • You know what?

  • I wanted to make?

  • What I did make and sure, I want to get some downers from that.

  • But that's not really my main cold I don't want to do is I'm gonna create another YouTube channels.

  • The name is going to be whatever I named the app.

  • I have a few ideas around her on my head and I write down new ideas.

  • You know, every month or so, whenever I think about it right down new ideas, whether it's for the output, for the name as well.

  • And I'm gonna create a YouTube channel that has to do with stock trading, you know, maybe go over some basic things that places, like invested Petey Agos over, but just put it in video format for people to receive it.

  • Well, you know, a lot of people like to read I'm one of those people really don't like to read honestly, But I will go mike invested peon read information.

  • If I know it's gonna benefit me future.

  • I'm also gonna make some other videos on there that has to do with, you know, strategies, mental health.

  • Because you need it's all it's all mentality.

  • You need to be emotionless when you chase stocks, but don't get too much into, like trading stocks.

  • This is gonna have some of that information as well as maybe the end instagram and or Twitter.

  • I'm not sure exactly, but you really should focus on to social media platforms that time.

  • At least that's the rule of thumb.

  • You know, it's hard to be the best at all four.

  • But if you narrow it down to, like one or two, maybe three, you'll be able to do a lot better.

  • So I'm gonna focus on probably Instagram and YouTube and then all the people who get it to that.

  • I'm gonna give free content out on the application.

  • It is a social media application, but there's gonna be a page that has other content that you have to down with at in order to get.

  • I'm gonna be blunt with them and with the all that I want to say, Look, I'm giving out this free content on my app.

  • So you download my at once they downloaded the Liotta, see the community, and in order to build a community, I'm planning on going to people for them to get on this platform, build the reputation and potentially make money.

  • So that's how I'm going to start off marketing.

  • And it's not like the APP is gonna cost, you know, $1.10 dollars, $50.

  • It's free.

  • There's gonna be a subscription business.

  • I believe it's gonna be subscription subscription business within, so basically, like make money through purchases and or advertisements.

  • And that's how the ad.

  • I plan on making money with the APP.

  • So the act is gonna be free, the content you to Instagram and the act is gonna be free.

  • So I'm giving people a lot of free content and they're getting a lot of other content on the APP, you know, communicating with people on social media for free.

  • But there is going to be this person that I just mentioned.

  • I'm not gonna go into detail what they actually are.

  • I really want to tell you, but I can't.

  • I can't, because if someone else goes out, makes it before me, I'll be really upset.

  • Someone to try to keep it a bit of a secret.

  • Just just a little bit of sick.

  • And that's really the main ways and want to market my act.

  • I'm going to be on YouTube.

  • I'm gonna be on social media because social media is huge going Thio, get some Facebook advertisements.

  • So, you know, if you're on Facebook, you see little advertising homicide gonna get some of that on YouTube Advertising like you probably see if you're in like the small screen right now.

  • You probably see it like over there by the fault.

  • They put advertisements over there, whether it's like videos in the wash now or is it over there, whichever way it's on, you know, they put Yeah, pretty sure it's over there.

  • So those are probably four main things.

  • Is YouTube instagram free content in order to get people to download the app for more free content?

  • And I'm sure they'll stay because it's gonna be a good community growth there in good communication and good knowledge to be gained within the Facebook ads, YouTube ads.

  • Like I said over there with some of those static abs static ads, as well as maybe some type of video like I made the trailer for you for this series and they make a video for the application.

  • You're just some temperature.

  • You, by that time, hopefully I'll have decent camera skills and I'll be able to make my own commercial video.

  • But I'm goingto target people who serves things like stock trading day, trading, your swing, trading your things like that.

  • So enough of marketing.

  • I want to talk a little bit about how I'm going to develop my application.

  • What I mean by that is like what?

  • Or like a lot of people were like I don't even know where to start, which I've been there, still kind of there.

  • But I think I understand you because there's front and and then there's back.

  • So back in is where all the information is stored.

  • Front end is what you see, like on YouTube, is what you see when you see the screen.

  • It's the user interface, and I want to make a sign simultaneously.

  • So what I wanna do is I think I may have mentioned this before.

  • I'm going to create a social media feed, basically just a basic social media application with feed, profile and what not and then make the front and on top of that as well.

  • And then once I have that, I'm going to create a little features and everything else that I want that in there and with each feature that I put on the back and I'm gonna put implement on the front or your vice versa, I put I put on the front, and I'm gonna connect it to the back, and that will just allow me to see my progress better.

  • So I'm making the whole back end and then making the front end.

  • But then what about when you're making the front and you're like, I forgot that you have to go back to the back and that you may not have worked on in a week, Two weeks?

  • Months?

  • Who knows?

  • And you may for gotten this way you can work on the back in in the front end.

  • If you don't like something, you could change it.

  • I think it would be a lot easier.

  • How are you?

  • Are how have you created your application?

  • That's really be the question of the day, how you created your applications.

  • Did you do front and back in?

  • Did you have someone else to do back in?

  • And you do for an inter vice versa?

  • Did you do it simultaneously like I plan on doing?

  • Just just let me know in the comments below, because I really wanna know, really want to try to figure out before actually do it.

  • So if you got the best way, I think the way I'm talking about is the best way.

  • But I want to get some input of someone who's actually done it or something.

  • Someone else who's may be in the same position as me and are just thinking about doing you know, what have you heard?

  • Works the best.

  • Let me know.

  • And right now we're gonna get into the unity course.

  • But first, you know the guy that told you about who created the pokey radar?

  • He was one of Mark's students.

  • He took his IOS nine course from you to me.

  • Hi, everyone.

  • I'm Nick Bevona.

  • I am the co creator of Pokey Radar.

  • His pokey radar went number two overall for free ops.

  • I believe in the APP store.

  • And he created that with I know at least one other person and they just sold that company Pokey radar, whatever assets that were included with it, whatever that may be for $500,000.

  • And he started right here, too.

  • That's me.

  • That gives us hope.

  • There's also another success story.

  • It's It's a medium post, which is just a block post.

  • I read said that a little bit very cool.

  • I really like the's the success stories because I remember back when, like, 23 years ago, before I, like, really, really got into coding where I just thought I knew something I really didn't.

  • I thought I was never going to get, like, even to wear him now.

  • But just imagine, like creating my whole entire application is music to my ears to be able to hear these other people's success stories who have taken, of course, similar, if not the same exact as one that I'm taking right now and that just motivated even more.

  • But let's learn a little bit about IOS development.

  • What we're gonna do right now is the exercise.

  • So we're gonna go over a little bit if you haven't done it yet.

  • You would do on your own.

  • Don't watch this part.

  • Just do it first and then come back here and then we can discuss it together.

  • I may even get something Drunks.

  • I don't want to put something in your head that actually no, probably ended out my mistakes and just kind of just kind of like a short little edit of me completing this because I don't want to take all the time to just go through the whole entire exercise that would get boring.

  • I'm just going to go through it right now and complete it and show you guys a little bit of tin bits and kind of my thought process about doing stuff for you to get into this street.

  • So we're gonna do right now is file New playground.

  • Now, I'm gonna play guard right now, but I don't wanna mess it up.

  • I guess I could do save as and they would ever want, but oh, now hello world.

  • So let's get rid of that.

  • We have to leave the kid in there.

  • Explained that another video and a number one creative variable with a name of your choosing that has a value of 15.

  • Question one and always used Camel case.

  • So you don't want to do like this.

  • That's just not proper.

  • You want to lover case first letter than every every word.

  • After that, you want upper case.

  • So question one equals when I'm doing a stream of value 15 I don't need to simply calling swift Question three creative third variable that stores that some of the first and second of variables my ultimate is this.

  • You don't wanna do that.

  • Although that is getting the same answer.

  • What was the point of view declaring this?

  • There would have been no point and the reason you want to declare?

  • This is what if you do something with 5 15 multiple times.

  • So what if you add, it's attracted.

  • Multiply it all in different you know all to be storing different variables.

  • What if you had to go back and change that?

  • Then you have to find where 15 5 are everywhere in your code.

  • Or you could just change.

  • One could right here.

  • So let's do this.

  • It's question.

  • One question to you can just start typing and enter.

  • I don't know why it's not Joey, huh?

  • That's not it.

  • My computer's running really slow and tried a few different things.

  • I'm pretty sure what did.

  • It was a Camembert to view debug area and then activated Consul.

  • This popped up all their clothes back down and pop back up later with some information in there, and it works.

  • Now it's and that's exactly what I wanted for This equals 10.

  • So what?

  • I want to come up here and do a quick is So you guys the arithmetic or earth medical?

  • Whatever you wanna call it operators.

  • So there's multiplication division addition.

  • It's attraction, but there's also a remainder, or Ma Ji low or module is whatever you wanna call it.

  • So basically what you do here 15 Modelo four that equals three.

  • Because actually, let me pick another number just to make it clear.

  • Six.

  • And this is also three because because six only goes into 15 twice, So six plus 6 to 12 and then with the remainder of three module A gives you that remainder like before.

  • Four only goes into 15 3 times, but there're endlessly.

  • That's why I give you another another example or different example because I didn't want you to think that it was just regular division before remainder of one, because four times 11 is 44 remainder one.

  • So let's delete that.

  • And you guys understand what a module is Does Theo, This is kind of what I was saying before.

  • You don't want to just put in 15 5 You wanna put in the variables?

  • Because now imagine if this was 15 15 15 555 And I mean, actually, like, I mean, like, 15 and five, Not like what they actually equal, because question one doesn't go 15.

  • But imagine that like, Oh, no, I need to change, you know, question to variable 10 ho.

  • But guess what?

  • You'd have to go to here and change it in here to change it in here to change of it.

  • Now, you could just change it once.

  • Question seven.

  • Create three new variables of any name of end of any value, but all on the same line.

  • So I think I think this is what he wants us to question what I'm gonna do.

  • Question 73 variable names.

  • Question seven tickles.

  • He was a value of it.

  • Name any value, question seven.

  • So it's still only says seven over there.

  • See, this is an error because we need to insert this.

  • And if you just click on this click, enter insert, it'll do it again.

  • Every hero's gonna type it in, and that's what I wanted.

  • You don't have to put one over here, but you can just to make a uniform.

  • I should probably not name these the same thing.

  • Seven.

  • Seven questions.

  • Levine.

  • I think that works.

  • And you can also put something calling here doesn't make a difference just to make it look nice.

  • I'm gonna put it there, so let's get a question eight.

  • So I just want to show you guys this don't know why they didn't, like, take advantage of this opportunity where we declared this question nine is a double, so let's just do Question nine tickles.

  • Nine.

  • The that works, right?

  • A double.

  • Is this supposedly like that?

  • 9.23 whatever.

  • And, for example, let's just take this out.

  • So we declared Question 10 and let's make that equal to 9.23 It doesn't work because 9.23 is a double, which is basically decimal.

  • There's also float, which is 32 bit while and double is 64 pit and a double is preferred.

  • A lot of people like I'm going to use a float.

  • So useless memory.

  • So my per garments faster.

  • Well, you don't wanna do that.

  • You probably always want to use double in.

  • That's generally what Swift will sign you if you don't do something like this.

  • So, for example, if you just did this 9.23 it'll still work.

  • It'll just make it a double automatically, and that's just to show you that you can declare a double as an end, but not as a double as well.

  • You can assign it doubled to a.

  • You can't assign a double to afloat, but you can't assign a float to a double because of double is bigger than a float.

  • See, it doesn't fit in it, but it floats more than doubles.

  • What will fit in it?

  • Now let's get back to Question 11 creative variable of type string with a value of Hello 13 creating third variable to store the result of the contaminating, the first of contaminating the 1st 2 strings using the plus symbol.

  • So there's two different ways to do this.

  • There's concatenation as well.

  • A string, an interpellation, which that is not needed right here.

  • So we're gonna do is question 13.

  • I see.

  • Well, actually, you see how it's a dusty world.

  • Hello, Actually, what I wanted to do is make it say hello world.

  • I'm guessing.

  • Let's just make it say that anyway.

  • 11.

  • And it says hello world.

  • So we're gonna do is put a space in there At another plus, sign announces, Hello, Space World Question 14.

  • The final question using that third variable again.

  • So the third variable I'm guessing the one that we just made store the result of Can Canton ating, the first to string.

  • But instead of using quotation marks, some of our syntax string interpolation.

  • So that is what?

  • So what we're doing right now is exactly what I said we didn't need to do, which we don't need to do in this situation.

  • But it's practice, so let's do it.

  • Let's see if I even know how to do this.

  • Luckily, I took my notes, and, as you can see here, I wrote in Katyn, eating over here.

  • I did string interpolation.

  • So now I can reference this and that's the whole point of taking notes, not cheating.

  • It's note taking in all honestly whenever I use my nose in order to take a test.

  • For that, I'm allowed to use my note.

  • Senator, take a test.

  • I learned a lot more on that test because if I flunk a test, I'm not gonna go home and study.

  • But if I'm able to study while taking a test, we're gonna make sense in other and more bullets going to string articulation.

  • So it's like this, and I believe question 11.

  • I don't think I even needed to the plus sign, but I may need their space.

  • Uh, Yeah, I think you could leave a space in there.

  • And then, actually, I have to do the backslash.

  • Question.

  • 12 in hello World.

  • As you can see over on the right.

  • So that's how you do string into relation.

  • See, this one is Captain Nation.

  • Every spell, that word.

  • I don't know.

  • Sorry.

  • If I butchered it, then this is string interpolation string into relation and that's section to lecture.

  • 17 Exercise.

  • We're not ending the video right here.

  • We have a couple more minutes to talk about, so let's talk about it.

  • So my cameras about to die.

  • So let's get through this last couple of minutes of this video quickly.

  • They're just if you think I want to talk about it's those knowledge nuggets that I mentioned earlier and a lot of these, if not all of them are coming from Mark Prices mouth himself.

  • And first, what he does is he recommends for everyone to get what is it called the Swift programming language.

  • Swift three edition.

  • It's an eye books for free, and he references it a bit throughout us, learning swift.

  • I mean, it's made by the creators of the language themselves.

  • So why wouldn't you downloaded?

  • You need something to reference.

  • You can use Google all you want, but if you get something that came from the people who actually developed a language to help you with the language, that's prime.

  • A little advice for me is sometimes I'll play Marks videos in 1.25 speed.

  • So it was a little bit faster ship.

  • It's just to get through some of the slower places where he kind of maybe rambles or talk slow or that I already know.

  • So I do 1.25 speed every now and then and remember, you can always pause it, go back, played a regular speed or slow.

  • I don't really do slowly.

  • Right then I talk some but image before.

  • Swift also assigned values bit forms.

  • So whether it's 8 16 32 64 bits, Swift will sign those properly to whatever needs and a quote from work price.

  • As he's referencing the book, the swift programming which never, he says, You gotta learn howto learn.

  • I'm trying to train you how to become a lifelong learner programmer, and this could be taken into anything.

  • If you ever want to do anything you have to continue learning.

  • It would be a program where you have to learn forever.

  • We discussed that earlier.

  • You have to learn forever, and he's not teaching you how to make an app.

  • You teach you howto learn and kind of make it.

  • But he's not just kind of going through the motion like, Oh, cool.

  • I could make this app, but I want to make a nap a little bit different and I don't know how to do it.

  • I feel like he's going to cover the points where I will soon have the ability to create my own app, my own way, with my own learning process and what I've learned just on my own.

  • Mark also points out that he leaves his mistakes in the videos just to show you that he's not perfect.

  • He used to take out his mistakes.

  • This is from his mouth.

  • He used to take out his mistakes and people were like all Mark.

  • I'm never going to be as perfect as you as good as you.

  • It's like he edits his videos or he edited his videos, and now he leaves some if not all, of those mistakes in just to show us that he's not perfect.

  • He needs it, looks up, stuff up on Google, and it definitely helps us out mentally.

  • And it shows us that there's gonna be some guy that just knows everything off the top of his head.

  • Since my cameras got to die, I hope you enjoyed this video.

  • If you did, please smash that thumbs up button.

  • Be sure subscribe.

  • So you don't miss any of these.

  • I may give you guys a special treat because I missed last week, so I kind of want to do to next week.

  • But it's it's a lot of work, and I'm not sure if I'm if I can't exactly do that.

  • I don't know.

  • I'm not making any promises, but I appreciate you guys watching.

  • Have a good one.

What's up, guys?
