If we haven't had a catch-up in a while you maybe don't know But I just spent two months in Malaysia with my beautiful wife It was the holiday of a lifetime but I am NOT going to call it a maxi moon Because then Andrea won't be my friend you can watch the entire Trip on our Malaysia playlist, but here are 10 semi random things I learnt in Malaysia number one. There are no floor numbers 4 or 14 4 is an unlucky number in many Southeast Asian countries mainly because the Cantonese version is near homophonous with the word for death Many buildings just go one, two, three 3 A, five. Number two the country has very separate ethnic groups And they don't all speak the same language even within those different groups There are many different dialects and they don't necessarily understand each other the Malay language Has ten dialects. The Chinese has seven and the Indian has six Instead they often converse cross-culturally in English with a smattering of The B'hasa Malaysia, which has many words that are really really similar to English, it's quite amazing to experience Number 3 always carry tissues always if you're a person who needs to use the toilet ever By which I mean, a person, you will thank me later Number Four - be brave and try Every different dish you can get your hands on especially from the roadside hawker stalls the most Delicious food was always found in the most unassuming of places I am now obsessed with chakra tower and I ate it at least once a day Occasionally twice or that one time I ate it every meal. Number 5 - wear bug spray all the time constantly Just do it. You don't want to die Number 6 - The heat makes your hair and nails Grow incredibly quickly I have never had to trim them quite so much My hair is much longer than it normally would have done after 2 months, and I did have to trim these nails every week Number 7: if you're holding a camera *sighs* At least 5 different men will stop and ask you if you need help every time Number 8 - Don't step on the grates on the pavement you may just fall through...everytime Don't get your cane don't get it stuck in a grate. Number nine- on the subjective pavements they follow no, rhyme or reason. They don't have a regulatory height width or condition these pavements in front of each different shop will be Entirely different, and I hear toys have steps to help you get in between You're in a wheelchair think of it as off-roading or just stick to the road. Number 10 - money is beautiful colorful and confusing. The central bank created new notes and coins in 2012 this is the fourth series But the previous series is still around maybe that's due to there being so many Roadside stalls and traders who don't necessary then take their money to the bank to be taken back in We were given notes and coins from the third series And I'm pretty sure maybe some from the second because they were just odd. That's the third series from 1996 and the second series from 1982 as such the old one looks more like the new 50 then it does the new one confusing if that's in your purse and Both of these are accepted as 20 cents Also there is no 1 cent, so shops just round up or down, but yet, they still price things like 68 cents they know you just have to give them 70. Why? they know you have to give them 70 I know that'll be one and finally Malaysia is a beautiful beautiful country. It is full of the absolute warmest people and we never felt anything but Sincerely welcomed being there for two months was a wonderful experience that we will never forget Things will be going back to normal on the channel now however I'll be releasing two videos a week or three if it's a special week Or I just have a lot to say. They'll be chats about disability, some hair tutorials, vintage clothes things fun and games of my beautiful wife and lastly puppy dogs and maybe some educational stuff because I Find learning fun. First, I will finally get around to making the style swap with Claudia. I'm not entirely sure Who the loser is there? And the house tour you have kindly asked to see if you have any requests for things you would absolutely Love to see then please do leave them down in the comments below And I could be avidly reading them if you are new here And that sounds very exciting then please do come in and subscribe I have a whole video of all of the amazing things that we bought in Malaysia coming out on Monday So I look forward to seeing you then
