never just one

I work at Google and I was going for a promotion which is a very strict process

and I have to create a packet of all the good things that I do it was hard

because I just I didn't have a lot of self-worth and reflecting about what I

was doing for the company it was difficult because I felt like I wasn't

doing anything for them as much apparently I was succeeding at my job

and I was just crying all the time now is that the Wellness office and I

saw that Google had ten free counseling sessions and so I I called that number

and they asked how they could help but I was just like I just want to stop crying

my therapist picked up pretty quickly that I was likely abusing alcohol and

every session we would talk about about like how much I had that week and like

why I was drinking so when I stopped drinking it was like this really big

lever was just turned off and I could see so much more of my life

having the Employee Assistance Program saved my life I don't know that I would

have stopped drinking as early as I did I feel like my life hadn't crashed down

around me yet for for employers to be inclusive its supporting like if someone

comes out and says the third recovery like supporting them in that management

training of hey let's say there is like a big team event like making sure that

there's something for everyone to drink but being a part of a company that

treats you like family that accepts you for wherever you are makes you care

about it more and I care about my team and I like I feel welcomed by my team my

life is so full and I'm so grateful for it
