  • What's up, guys?

  • Just two cents here.

  • And I promise you, in our review of the 5600 x t from AMG that we would talk about over clocking because one of the way is that you're able to get a $299.2060 card here from the VJ the KO and to keep the price around 279 to $289 for the 56 5660 is you have to shave some things, if you will.

  • We're talking about some of the same and how they affect over clocking.

  • We're over.

  • We over clock around here so we'll talk about that.

  • End 60 is proud to announce they're all new crack in Ze Siri's Aereo, featuring a 2.3 inch, 24 bit customizable LCD screen, allowing the users to completely customized the look of their cooler.

  • Capable of displaying useful system info and temperatures, the LCD screen can also play gifts and custom images, giving users the freedom to truly customize their experience.

  • To learn more about the NZX T crack in Ze Siri's head to the link in the description below Okay, so we're gonna kind of show you how the over clocking performance between the $299.2060 ko from DVD A fares against the $289 5662 cars that were never designed to be pitted against each other but ended up that way because of the V bios improvement to performance on the 5600 x t After it completely dominated the 16.

  • 60 T, Iet set its sights on the 2060 because the 2060 had a price reduction, both from the Founders card and this new card from DVD A the KO.

  • I have a founder's card sitting here on the bench.

  • I'm going to call out some B s right now.

  • This is not a $299 card, it says.

  • Notify me on the website.

  • It'll probably say Notify me for the end of time now because I don't believe for a minute, and video can actually make any money selling these at $299 when the a partner version of it has a much cheaper, less robust cooler on it.

  • It's not a bend GPU Um, and it's just it's got a lot of features stripped out of it.

  • That cooler alone on the founder's card is extremely expensive.

  • We said No review that the 2060 ko from PGA has a locked power limit, but so what?

  • You can sew over clock.

  • Yes, you can.

  • But the problem is, a lot of the perimeter is that keep cards from performing outside of their speck is, you know, parliament temperature and then obviously core core voltage.

  • But you can't even adjust core voltage on a video card.

  • You can just a slider.

  • That kind of allows the Maxwell to get a sooner clock, but it doesn't max out the voltage or put any higher than what's written to the BIOS.

  • Those old days have be able to actually admit little Mila bolts are gone.

  • So the other thing is obviously gonna be It's the Silicon lottery.

  • How well the core is gonna respond to adding it more megahertz and pushing it farther.

  • So we're gonna demonstrate some of that today and see how the 2060 ko versus the 5600 x t vs the same price 2060 over here, Founders edition from a video does.

  • So I'm using three utilities that are free to demonstrate today, which means you at home can download these and see how your cards fare on your own.

  • Now, this is not an over clocking tutorial.

  • I'm gonna move someone through some of this pretty quickly, so forgive me if you don't understand everything.

  • I'm saying the benchmark chart that we're going to show you have already done all the testing.

  • Well, at least paint the picture for you, but I've done a lot of these over clocking guides in the past.

  • It's the same thing that applies today.

  • So in video graphics cards and Amy cards now use a GPU boost type of an algorithm.

  • Basically, it says, these are Max clocks.

  • In fact, I could show you that right here the three utilities were using our heaven.

  • It's unity in Heaven, which is a benchmark.

  • It's a DX 11 J.

  • That's really, really old.

  • Yes, I know, but it's still a way to stress the card, and that's all we want is to stress it using a Masai afterburner, which, despite popular belief, does work on Andy.

  • Card's just fine.

  • You don't have to use a M D radio and software A and be ready on software gives you some extra functionality.

  • Which day today didn't affect performance in any positive way whatsoever?

  • It's still kind of a shitty buggy software in my personal opinion.

  • And then we're also using G.

  • Pusey.

  • G.

  • Pusey reads the BIOS.

  • It'll tell you everything about your card memory bandwidth memory bus with We could see the GPU boost speed so you could see the GPU clock is 13 65.

  • That's when it just is out of tootie mode.

  • It goes right to 13 65 but it will go to 16 80 automatically as its boost clock.

  • So when it sees a load for games and stuff to go right to 16.

  • 80 But if it has additional voltage available to it as additional power limit available to it and it has additional, Um, well, I guess those two things, then it will automatically start to self over clock itself.

  • So that's why you're seeing.

  • In fact, I'm gonna refresh this quick reset.

  • That's why you're seeing 1860 75.

  • It's gonna kind of bounce around megahertz and not 16 80 because it found that based on these particular perimeters itself, over clocked to 18 75 which is obviously 195.

  • Major retired in the 16 80 boost clock.

  • So it's already done a lot of over clocking for us.

  • Well, obviously we can push this farther except for the case of this card, because we have no additional power limit because, like I just said, those three things are those two things it's really looking for.

  • Temperature and power limit are going to limit how far we could go on a core voltages another one.

  • But like I said, that's not even worth talking about this point because we can't control that.

  • But it is a limiting factor.

  • But J there's a core voltage slighter.

  • Yes, all that does is change the percentage available to the core at a sooner clock.

  • If we were to really raise the slider, check this out.

  • Nothing happens because all we're doing is telling it go that voltage lower than this, so it could have started doing around 1516 100 So that's why people refer to it as a placebo slider.

  • If you were having crazy instabilities at a lower court clock, then that might help you, but that's rarely the case twice, quite honestly.

  • So we're using heaven.

  • It's frozen right now because I have it set toe.

  • Just look at it really difficult scene to render its got.

  • The boat's got all this test elation, but J it's not moving.

  • You're right.

  • It's not moving, but it's still rendering the scene 100%.

  • Even though nothing's moving, it's still refreshing and re rendering the scene every time it draws a frame.

  • So that's why our F.

  • P s is really consistent, which allows us to more accurately see what changes affect performance.

  • So the first thing we're gonna do right here Yes, we're going to see what is limiting our performance right now.

  • What's keeping us in 18 75 or bouncing between 18 60?

  • So they go to G.

  • Pusey and go to sensors.

  • Perf cap.

  • Reason down here tells you why you're limited.

  • So the three reasons that we're staying at this clock speed right now is because of power limit.

  • So again, that's that power limit of the total amount of power that a graphics card is able to draw.

  • That's the fans, the lighting, the core, the memory, the V R.

  • EMS, whatever is on here.

  • You have a fan plugged into a header in the back that draws power.

  • So it's the total power draw that's that's able to be drawn from the card.

  • So we've hit that limit.

  • The other two here is Veer L and V.

  • Ops of IAPA's.

  • Specifically the amount of voltage to the core.

  • Basically, we are power limited right now is what this is telling us.

  • So Okay, Well, what if we max out this power limit?

  • Will that help anything?

  • So all I did was slide it all the way to the right because more power means more heat.

  • It's linked with temperament.

  • You cannon link it.

  • There's no reason to where, As you can see, it is bringing our temperature target up as well.

  • So 83 c is where it will max out.

  • Now, that means if we hit that, it'll reduce these core clocks and such to keep it cool.

  • We're gonna raise that obviously to 87 hit apply and we went from 97% TDP to 100.

  • So you could see now we're no longer power limited because it's Max is 118 were only sitting around 100 and 100.8.

  • But we still have voltage limitations that are keeping us from going any farther.

  • Well, we could still manually over clock this.

  • We could still push the core, which is kind of weird, You would think.

  • Well, there's enough voltage.

  • Well, how can you push it farther?

  • Well, Max, voltage does not also determine your max core clock.

  • It only determined you, Max core clock if you no longer have enough voltage to keep the core stable.

  • There's a lot of head room ms there.

  • So even though we're gonna be stuck at the 10 43 weaken over clock this, I already know that this card is able to do 1 75 bringing our core clock up to 2000 and 40.

  • As you can see right now, we're right back now to power.

  • And then the voltage limiting our cart.

  • And we can even over clock our memory.

  • Check this out.

  • 750.

  • I'm going far because it's Samsung, and I know it can take it.

  • Same voltage.

  • Little more temperature are cork Lakas you Cassie came up significantly in sowed our memory, and we're at 109%.

  • And then we can Max out our fans to keep the temperature's down as a fan comes up like that now, up into the teens, which shows you just how much power fans can actually take.

  • And that's when the reasons why water cooling is superior because you don't have to get power to your fans, which means you can get one extra boost.

  • And what you'll notice, too, is as this temperature comes down and I happen to know that under full load, um, were able to get about 57.

  • Seas are max temperature.

  • See how that's starting to come up slightly because again, core clock and temperature are directly related.

  • There's there's bins that say at this temperature max speed of this as it comes down, it goes, Hey, more max speed.

  • So we're gonna go ahead and throw the 2060 ko in there now to show you how different the experience is when you don't have access to the power limit, so we can't increase the power at all on this.

  • Now we can still increase the core and a temp limit one of the things that we've I've noticed with over clocking this card in the benchmarks that you're about to see is I couldn't go that far with it.

  • In fact, plus 75 or so in like plus 400 I'm putting the fan toe like to point out to.

  • This is a duel cooler fan, but it's already at 60 60 67 c.

  • It'll actually hit 71 see when over clocked with the fans of 100%.

  • That's again because the cooler design came off of a lesser card.

  • Put on a higher card that was never designed for this much heat that this chorus generating.

  • Remember, we don't have our tea core's going or tense records.

  • They're just the code.

  • Of course.

  • Right now we're at 1935.

  • Remember the other card we were hitting?

  • 2040 2055?

  • And because it can't pull more power, it added more core clock by reducing voltage.

  • So it was kind of like it's like a weighted system, right?

  • So you, if this is your max, you can't raise this.

  • That has to come down because it has average out to where the maximum is and That's what we're dealing with on this card right here.

  • So even though if we look at the graphics card here, we can see we've got more boost going here like 17 75 and boost of 18.

  • 30 and the GPU clock at 14.

  • 40.

  • And all these higher numbers technically, that our reference card Watch what happens if I try and push this any farther right now?

  • So I'm plus 100 on the core.

  • Nothing weird happening there yet.

  • What's this 1 10 Oh, that.

  • See that?

  • Do you see all of his reign Bowie stuff?

  • Look at our core clock.

  • We're nowhere near where we were in the reference card.

  • We're getting all these artifacts now.

  • These are artifacts someone might look at and go.

  • I'm getting memory artifacts.

  • No, no, because this is that's core artifact.

  • If I come back here and I go zero in the memory, they're still there.

  • That is because, as you can see here, if we go back to our sensors were continuing to keep the voltage low as we're pushing the core higher asking Maur task of the core without it getting the power it's gonna need.

  • But do your voltage lighter doesn't matter what, 100% it's not going to give us any more.

  • So what you've lost by going with the super cheap 2060 and this is nothing gets DVD A.

  • This is what they have to do that because of the pricing of the card in the GPU and all that sort of stuff the core, these air, the cut, the corners they've had to cut to give you a very basic plug it in very limited over clocking experience versus this guy.

  • That's why this guy at the same price.

  • Although it's a better card, it's not gonna exist.

  • Aimed is not your savior, though.

  • Let me show you what's wrong with this one.

  • So it's a little different when it comes to Andy.

  • In fact, look, remember, I talked about in my review how the fans would just the card just melt down.

  • The fans are not running right now.

  • Look, it thinks they're running 100% so it's not reading the fans at all so, and check this out.

  • If I come in here, then I can sort of play around with fan right?

  • Apply changes.

  • No, do that.

  • I'm manually told to go.

  • And it's not so like the card is going to just continue to melt.

  • There it goes, All right, that was really delayed so I could do the same thing in M s after murder.

  • But I'm only showing you here because like I said, two started this video radiance.

  • Uh, software is built in to the driver, So there's all this, but M s, I afterburner does work, and it does give you control over all of this.

  • So I prefer to use m s, I afterburner.

  • But when it comes to over clocking on MD, it's quite a bit different.

  • You have kind of, ah, arranger allowed to set of adding an offset, You can say target 1820 megahertz.

  • And if all those things like I talked about before power limit voltage and temperature and all that will allow it, it will get us close to it as it can, but very rarely does never actually hit the number that we set the 5700 we were able to hit about 2100 megahertz, which is like the fastest Ame de corps we had ever had come through here.

  • the 5760 and all that really impressive.

  • This card exists between the 5500 and the 5700 this 5600 x t.

  • So they have to artificially control it to keep it from getting too close to its big brother.

  • Because if it does and it's very close to it now as it is, why would anyone buy the 5700?

  • So what did they do and how they get around that you could see right now this is the V two bios.

  • We said no review.

  • There was a new BIOS and so we had to go into all of our testing again, and I want to see what that improvement was.

  • That's why we included pre and post bios Flash.

  • If we come over here now and I go okay, 17.

  • 80.

  • What's different about M.

  • S.

  • I afterburner is that's the actual frequency you're you're dialing in there, not an offset like in video.

  • So they moved the memory from 1500 to 17 50 So 250 megahertz over clock on the memory.

  • So if we go to our core clock and I say fine, give me 1800.

  • So 17.

  • 50 is what we got.

  • 17.

  • 51 because of whatever reason, Right?

  • Okay, let's max out.

  • Power limits.

  • You get 20% additional with this card.

  • Okay, That made no difference.

  • Right there.

  • Look how good the cooler works.

  • It really does work.

  • Well, I'm gonna tell you that much right there.

  • It'll go down into the forties under full load.

  • That's because power color put the 5700 na next red dragon cooler on this card, which is the way they should have done it.

  • Especially when they added more power.

  • So that worked out well in their favor.

  • The other brands that went cheaper on the cooler.

  • Yeah, quite freaking out a little bit.

  • They watch this if I want to go.

  • Okay.

  • 18 50.

  • Apply.

  • Sorry.

  • 18 twenties, as far as you're allowed to go.

  • And even then it doesn't even hit it.

  • Because for the way MD works and giving you that range.

  • If I was to take the bottom number and slide it right up against it like we did in the 5760 and just try and lock it there, it'll crash.

  • So this is artificially being controlled.

  • Even though they give you a V bios to give you more performance, it is intentionally limited toe where you're not gonna be able to get any better than 18 20 at the best.

  • Because it then this too close to the 5760.

  • So now showing you the over clocking with these cards and why it's really lackluster and kind of like, how did over clocking these cards compare when we do our bench.

  • So there you have it.

  • 2060 Founders edition over.

  • Clocked us the fastest card on this table.

  • And if you could get one of 299 bucks, this is the clear winner.

  • You're not gonna get one for 200 bucks.

  • I mean, I really wanted it to be like Jay Shut your fat mouth.

  • Here they are.

  • Here's 10,000 of them.

  • They just went on sale in the website.

  • And if that's the case and guys go buy one.

  • If you're shopping at this price point when it comes to the 5660 versus this guy, though you saw they were getting artifact ing on this and that could very well be silicon lottery only have one sample, so I have no idea.

  • Um, I'd have to reach out to some of the other reviewers who got this card to see if they got any higher than around the 1950 or 1940 that we were getting, because what's limiting this card quite honestly, is the power limit.

  • Because, like I showed you, it had to reduce the voltage to keep the limit where it's supposed to be.

  • And because the card wants to sort of overheat because of this cooler being under SPECT, in my opinion, for this core means that the temperature goes up as temperature goes up.

  • Power draw goes up with it because of inefficiency with the temperature.

  • So you get the voltage drop, which means instability for the corps.

  • That's why you can't push the core any farther.

  • If this card was able to give you additional power and keep the voltage, at least that the 10 43 like it would be on this card, I have no doubt this thing would hit 2000 megahertz enough.

  • The chorus capable that even some of the worst 20 sixties that we got, so that's some of the that's some of what you lose by going with the cheapest of a brand or that brand, but cheapest of a speck of a card.

  • So but which card should you buy?

  • Well, if it's for over clocking, they're both limited for artificial reasons and power reasons.

  • Now what you need is more cards to come out with the robust coolers and designs at $299.

  • And that's not gonna happen because then it completely destroys the entire 16 60 t I market that exists.

  • So what you have here is the competition we've been asking for at the wrong time.

  • It's not the time for this, because of the fact that we have new generations probably coming out a little bit later this year, Ame Dee finally came out with a card that's competitive with at a higher tier in video card that no one was expecting, which kind of screwed all of this up, To be honest, if this card kept the original BIOS was priced at 2 79 competing with 16 60 T eyes that were at the same price, and the 2060 stayed at its 3 50 price point that all day long, I would say 5660.

  • But that all changed with the price drop, which no one saw coming from in video and videos not notorious for price dropping.

  • And it is usually notorious for coming out with another card like, I mean, this kind of squeeze on in there for an extra five bucks.

  • No, this time they actually reduce pricing with no one saw coming.

  • So usually, I would say, by a cheap respect card and then just over clock the crap out of it.

  • But now that we have the the graphics card designers artificially limiting two different ways the card from getting any better, Um, I guess at this point you know the 2060 is faster.

  • It is faster, but this card was never designed to compete with it.

  • So that's technically a good thing, because the price came down on that performance came upon that going, I guess at that point, go with where your brand loyalties are loyal to our brands, for various reasons and during a MD fan than you can rejoice in that this card, as long as it doesn't melt itself down on the fans work and the V bios.

  • Long term reliability proves that it's not destroying the cards over time because suddenly now they're pulling more power than the original spec called for now, hoping that it will perform long term and not damage anything.

  • Well, that's a good thing.

  • If it doesn't do any of that, it does do that.

  • That's my biggest fear.

  • Hope it doesn't anybody.

What's up, guys?
