  • hi guys today.

  • I want to do another installment of my howto look taller and slimmer.

  • Siri's Everybody loves these videos, and so I just want to keep delivering with some new outfit ideas where I'm taking these principles and putting them into practice.

  • So these are awesome outfits.

  • I love them so much.

  • Everything is linked down in the description where you can find them, as well as some cheaper options as well.

  • But I do want to say that these are principles so you can look at your closet, get ready for the day and maybe just think about these things while you're getting ready.

  • So this first outfit is already taking a few boxes that really helps its monochrome, so that's one shade from top to bottom.

  • There's nothing visually separating this long line from my shoulders down to the ground.

  • I also just love that this top is a V neck, and so that's going to kind of lengthen and show more skin, especially if you have ah, shorter torso that you want to lengthen.

  • I also love that these pants have little pleats on them, and what that's going to do visually is ad some vertical stripes.

  • I've used vertical striped pants in the past, and I love that tip, and this is just a very subtle way to do that.

  • But as you can tell, the pants are way too long on me, and so I actually want to throw on my boots.

  • These boots actually match the same tone as the pants.

  • So again it's just creating that long vertical line.

  • And then, of course, it's giving me visual height because these boots have quite a few inches on them.

  • I just bought these like, last fall, and I just really enjoyed the way that I could wear them with anything.

  • And here I am.

  • I found a way to wear them in summertime to what these boots are doing is creating a stilt effect is what I want to call it.

  • If you think of when you went thio, maybe a circus or a theater, and there's someone on stage who has just really long legs, he's supposed to look like a giant.

  • Then you have stilts that are covered up by pants.

  • That is how they're making that look that way.

  • And so that's kind of what I'm doing here.

  • I've got my heels on, which is giving me that stilts height.

  • But then I'm kind of covering them up quite a bit, and then that just makes the line of my pants look much, much longer.

  • My jewelry choices with this outfit is necklaces I love to wear in lawyer lots of necklaces that kind of draw your eye downward.

  • And what that's doing is lengthening my torso even more.

  • I just love to wear jewelry in general, and so I just feel like it elevates a very like standard black outfit here, and it's going to make it look more expensive to the nice tape I want to do is throw my hair up.

  • One thing that I want to talk about with that is that is going to show more skin and show lengthening on my neck.

  • Another great thing that that's going to d'oh is not show your own proportions compared to your hair.

  • So here is really a tricky thing, right when I had really long here, then it made me look a lot shorter.

  • I also love that when I cut my hair, it did make me look taller, but I think it also did show because I have thick hair that the proportions of that weren't exactly as even as I like them to be.

  • So I love to wear my hair down and wear my hair down today, but by putting my hair up, I couldn't really tell a difference vertically.

  • How it's changing the way that I look.

  • So just talking visual.

  • Wait, My hair's kind of weighing me down when I have it down, and then if I pull it back, then it's just not a distraction.

  • The really cool thing about this Alfa is actually not a jumpsuit.

  • It's two pieces, so the top and the bottom kind of come together very closely so you could overlap them if you want to.

  • But if you want to show a little bit of skin here than you definitely can, absolutely wonderful for summertime.

  • Or, you know, if you're just out having a great night, then you could definitely wear something like this.

  • I think it's so cool that you can do the jumpsuit monochrome look to just create a very long visual line.

  • But there's another way to do that by showing the slimmest point on myself, which is right around my rib cage that is gonna have this slimming effect right there.

  • Another really cool thing is that even though I'm breaking up that vertical line, I am going to make this long line where I feel the shortest on my legs.

  • And so my legs are much longer at this point than my torso.

  • I feel like I have a bit of a longer torso.

  • Finally, my bag choice for this outfit is something that's a shoulder bag, something that doesn't have too long of a strap.

  • And then also, this is about as large of a bag that I would personally carry.

  • If I carry a larger bag, then it's just going to make me look a lot smaller.

  • This happens all the time.

  • Whenever I pick up my cat, I have a very big cat, and people just think that he is absolutely massive when I hold him and that I'm just completely small in tiny.

  • And so by comparison, that's what bags do as well.

  • It just makes you look a lot smaller than you actually are.

  • If you carry a bigger bag, this bag is color coordinated with the rest of the outfit.

  • It's a completely black outfit, and that does kind of prevent some distractions from happening as well.

  • So tops a bottom with this outfit.

  • I've got my hair pulled back.

  • I've got elongating necklaces and a neckline.

  • I'm showing the slimmest part of me, which is right at my waist, and then also, I am goingto lengthen my legs by a stilt effect by having high boots and then making my pants reach almost to the ground.

  • And then for my bag.

  • I've got something understated, and that's more of a shoulder strap without something too long.

  • Next, I want to talk about dresses.

  • This dress has a lot of absolutely excellent qualities about it that I want to talk about today.

  • First of all, it's a midi length dress.

  • I would say that whenever I'm picking out something for a skirt or a dress, I'm going midi or mini link.

  • I'm not hitting my knee.

  • I'm not hitting the thickest part of my calf.

  • I want something that is a little bit longer on me.

  • And so midi length dresses are something that not everybody feels is the most lengthening look for petites.

  • But I personally do love it, and this dress now on.

  • Lee has a beautiful like right where the hem is, which I did get tailored to be exactly where I wanted it to be.

  • But it also has this beautiful slit that goes right around where a mini length dress would be.

  • That's going to show my leg and have much more lengthening properties to this.

  • It's not going to visually cut me off anywhere, and I just love the flow of this.

  • It's very feminine and just beautiful.

  • I feel sexy when I wear it.

  • The slit isn't too high where I would feel kind of nervous in public.

  • And then I also just love that it's going to highlight the the best or slimmest parts of my leg right away.

  • Some other things about this dress that you'll notice is that it has puffed sleeves and I'll touch on puff sleeves a little bit in a second.

  • But in brief, I just love how it's balancing out my proportions a lot here being that I'm pear shaped.

  • I want to do more balancing out on the top, and so that's what this is doing in a really feminine and beautiful way.

  • The neckline here is more plunging.

  • But it's just again kind of square open, and that's going to just any time that I feel kind of overwhelmed by fabric.

  • You want to show more skin to kind of combat that, of course, this dress can't do so much without a good pair of heels.

  • So I'm actually wearing my heels.

  • I wear all the time.

  • They're my by far mules.

  • I just love them so much.

  • I wear them with everything.

  • It's a skin tone shoe.

  • I would say definitely, anytime that you can find something skin toned, it's going to lengthen your legs.

  • It's going to make your legs look like it's from wherever you're showing your leg all the way down to your toe and there's nothing separating.

  • They're all so that is a beautiful tip.

  • It does not have any ankle straps, which is another bonus here.

  • It just all together makes that line with this dress from right where that slit starts all the way down to my toe.

  • Look super long.

  • Of course I'm gonna add my same jewelry again.

  • But one more thing about this dress is that it has a small pattern, and that's one thing I try to do as a petite is to wear a smaller pattern if I'm going to wear a pattern at all, if I was wearing something very largely floral or big polka dots, and that would be something that makes the outfit stand out more than me in my figure, in other words, a large pattern can overwhelm a petite frame.

  • Again.

  • I'm just gonna pull my hair back, and with this outfit, I feel like it just pulls the whole outfit together.

  • Makes it look more sophisticated, maybe a bit more tidy.

  • My purse choice with this outfit is something small and understated again, and you guys know I love my pulling bag.

  • It's small, and I just love that.

  • It's kind of a flirty summer bag, something I can just wear on my wrist and just a few things that I really need inside it.

  • So when talking about how to look taller and slimmer in summertime, this is an absolute perfect bag to find so overall, from top to bottom again, I'm putting my hair back.

  • I've got elongating necklaces that really highlights that neckline that showing more skin, I have puff sleeves to kind of balance out my own proportions.

  • And then I have a dress that is hitting me at a MIDI length with a slit that's going up to where it's showing more leg at a link that I feel is appropriate.

  • And then I've got my heels in my purse being both more skin toned and understated and just very lengthening, not overwhelming.

  • The pattern on the dress again is not overwhelming, either.

  • For the final outfit.

  • This is something much more casual and fun but still kind of floral and feminine toe where a lot of the same components that were in that dress are repeated here.

  • So I've got my puff sleeve top, something with more of a floral pattern, and I've got my high waisted jeans, but something I always wear.

  • I never wear mid rise.

  • I never wear low rise just because of my proportions, and I feel like it's a very flattering look for my body style.

  • So if you find that you have shorter legs and a longer torso than high waisted pants really work for you.

  • But if you have maybe longer legs in a shorter torso, then you can do a mid rise gene and you can style that exactly the same as I'm styling high rise jeans.

  • My shoe choice with this is fitting for the outfit because my top has this little bow in the front, and I'm repeating that with my shoes here.

  • So I just I'm having fun here.

  • I'm breaking some of my own rules.

  • I am wearing something with an ankle strap, and I really just love thes espadrilles because with these heels I'm adding literal height.

  • These ones are the tallest shoes I've ever had.

  • Like they make me feel sky high.

  • I'm taking the hit on the ankle strap bye, also showing some skin on the top of my foot.

  • And so if you just kind of don't necessarily look at the shoe.

  • But maybe in your peripheral vision, look at the outfit.

  • It is showing that my foot is much lower than the ankle strap, and thereby showing a little bit more of a longer leg is kind of a weird visual trick here.

  • But I am really happy that it's working this way.

  • The genes also are a little bit more of a straight leg fit so that it's showing a little bit more of the slimming effect around my ankle.

  • Here again, I'm adding my lengthening jewelry, but I do want to also mention the pattern here is a little bit bigger than I normally would like.

  • I loved the small floral pattern on the dress before, but the shirt here has ah, larger floral.

  • It is more toned down, though it's not something that has a lot of contrast.

  • So if you just really do like a larger floral pattern or just a larger pattern in general that maybe tone down that contrast just a bit like I have here.

  • The this ivory tone is almost a watercolor into the blue and then pop quiz on what the next step is.

  • I am going to pull my hair back.

  • You guys know all the reasons why this is working by now, but I just really works for this top, especially, which shows a lot more skin on Lee in the front.

  • But in the back and altogether, it's just going to work really well and lengthen and show more skin.

  • And finally, with this outfit, I'm going to be adding a clutch.

  • I want to talk about this for a little bit because I recently watched Natalie Portman's master class, and it was excellent.

  • It informed a lot about character, like how outfits can inform the character.

  • And I feel like that's so true when you put on an outfit, it makes you feel so differently.

  • You carry yourself in a different way.

  • When I was wearing the dress in the last outfit, I was carrying myself in a little bit of a different way than when I wore jeans.

  • And when you're carrying a small clutch, I just feel like it makes me personally walk with more poise.

  • I feel like I'm not like carrying something too cumbersome.

  • And if you think of the people who carry clutches, you'll typically see that on the red carpet events.

  • Or maybe Royals carry clutches a lot as well.

  • And so that's just a way to not carry too much with you if you want to just kind of look light and breezy.

  • So from top to bottom with this outfit, I have got my hair kind of pulled back.

  • I've got my long getting necklaces.

  • I'm showing a really beautiful neckline on the front and also in the back and the puff sleeves here I have been wearing puff sleeves all summer long, and any time I go to find another shirt to where I wanted to have puff sleeves so bad.

  • This is doing amazing things in making more, making my body style more of an hourglass versus a pear shape.

  • And so that's just balancing out my own proportions.

  • Take this into account with ever whichever proportions that you have a swell This top is more of a floral pattern, but even though it has a bigger pattern, it is subtle.

  • So if you would do wanna have a bigger pattern, then you can definitely go more subtle on the color scheme here.

  • The pants here are high waisted, and, of course, that's going to lengthen me quite a bit.

  • They are more of us straight leg fit, and that's going to emphasize that my ankles here are slimmer, and then the shoes, which really emphasizes the ankle as well.

  • Maybe those ankle straps aren't the most heightening, but it is really cool that they are showing my foot being much lower to the ground in the rest of my leg here and then my heels are adding a good inch on top of having a hell.

  • These are so sky high, and they make me feel so tall.

  • And then I just got my little clutch and having something that is small, kind of understated skin tone are all really excellent qualities.

  • But then I'm carrying myself a little bit more sophisticated with poise when I'm carrying a small clutch, and that just really helps as well just how you carry yourself in how the office that you choose can inform how you carry yourself and the character.

  • You feel like you are portraying when you wear your everyday outfits.

  • So everything that I listed today is linked down below.

  • But honestly, these are just principles.

  • These are things that you can carry into your own life when you're looking at your own closet, and hopefully you feel so much just more put together and confident in your everyday life and everything to do with outfit has to do with colors and reasons behind it and shapes.

  • And all of these things can make you feel your very best if done with intention.

  • And that's really the goal of my whole channel is things that are intentional.

  • I just hope that you could share this video is someone who you love and maybe like this video as well.

  • Don't forget to subscribe and I will see you guys next time.

  • Bye.

  • Take my hand and I really through caverns of my There's no eyes consumed.
