Here are stories of people 2
who were shamed and how they fought back. 3
'Cause you're sitting here calling me fat. 4
Oh, you don't think you are? 5
No, 'cause I (beep) love who I am. 6
Jenna Munger had a run in 7
with someone who tried to body shame her at church. 8
I will never come back to this church 9
because how much you are disrespectful. 10
You are so disrespectful. 11
Jenna sings at her North Carolina church. 12
(piano music) 13
But she says one day a woman followed her to the bathroom 14
and insulted her outfit and appearance. 15
She had gotten up from her seat from out in the audience 16
and had followed me in there. 17
During church, and this is all happening during church. 18
Of course. 19
So it was crazy. 20
Don't come back on that stage with those shorts. 21
I'm warning you. 22
Who are you? 23
Who are you? 24
You can read my name. 25
I see that, but who are you 26
to tell me what I'm supposed to do? 27
I have always struggled with my weight 28
for like, the entire time I've been alive, for now. 29
The church apologized to Jenna 30
for the incident and she used it as a teachable moment 31
for body acceptance. 32
It's hard to sit there and say, 33
"Do I love what I look like?" 34
And, "Do I love the clothes that I wear?" 35
Because it's hard, it's hard to find that stuff. 36
And so, always remember that you are loved. 37

Another shaming confrontation 40
happened on an airplane between two passengers. 41
You know nothing about me by the size of my body. 42
Model Natalie Hage, said the trouble started 43
early in the trip. 44
As soon as I walk on the plane, 45
I was met with this person that was just 46
disgusted by the fact that I existed next to him. 47
She noticed he was trying to send 48
a text to a friend. 49
Seeing him saying things like, you know, 50
I was spilling over into a side, 51
I was taking up his room, 52
like just so bothered that this fat person, 53
this huge, fat person was sitting next to him. 54
Natalie shared a photo of the situation 55
to her Instagram. 56
You can see the text exchange. 57
The other passenger's friend writing quote, 58
"Hopefully she didn't eat any Mexican food." 59
The passenger replied, "I think she ate a Mexican." 60
Natalie confronted the man once the plane had landed. 61
I couldn't help but notice that 62
before we took off that you were sending 63
really horrible text messages about me to somebody. 64
No I wasn't. 65
I have photos, yes you were. 66

I apologize, I was drinking, I apologize. 68

in an exit row seat. 71
You know when they ask you are you willing and capable 72

texting something upsetting. 88
My eyes just happened to glance 89
and I saw the two words, "Smelly fatty." 90

would wipe away a tear every now and then. 93
A fellow passenger named Chase Irwin 94
said he also saw the insulting texts. 95
He posted a video of it with the caption quote, 96
"This guy just text his wife that he is sitting next to 97
a smelly fatty and is going to vomit. 98
I watched her read this text and is now looking sad." 99
I began noticing her wiping tears, and my heart sank. 100
I mean it honestly made me sick to my stomach. 101
Chase confronted the offending texter. 102
I said, "You're a heartless human being. 103
I read the texts that you were writing 104
and as well as she did, and she's crying." 105
Well I sat down and I put my arm around her and I said, 106
"Hey, I know, you know, I know why you're crying. 107
I read the exact same thing that you read. 108
And I want you to know that I'm not gonna tolerate this." 109
Savannah said Chase was a hero. 110
I could not believe that someone would 111
step forward like that and defend a total stranger. 112

A customer and her family were in the Cold Stone Creamery 115
where Justine worked. 116
Her kids were sampling a lot of the flavors that we have 117
and she kind of pulled them aside and was like, 118
"With all those samples you're having, 119
you're gonna end up as big as her." 120
