The tablet is the next step in our mission
to create one unified experience
for all personal computing.
You've already seen our beautiful and fast desktop interface
that millions of people use on PCs from Dell,
Lenovo and HP.
it's highly secure,
trusted by banks and governments,
and easy to use for everyday computing.
What's unique about Ubuntu
is that same beautiful interface
can become a spacious smart TV experience.
And for the phone,
it can be distilled down to something lean and fast.
All the goodness of Ubuntu,
perfectly shaped to your hand.
People love the style and the simplicity about the phone.
VentureBeat said "it looks more elegant than Android
and more functional than Windows phone".
So it's clear Ubuntu is going to have
a huge impact on the phone industry.
And now it delighted to unveil
the newest member in the Ubuntu family.
Our tablet interface which works gracefully
on differents screen sizes and resolutions.
Let's start on the welcome screen
which let's you choose between secure account,
so you can share the tablet easily,
and has a guest mod if anybody wants to borrow it.
You'll see your personalized artwork here,
which reflects your use of the device,
and just like the phone,
all of your favorite apps are on the left edge,
and the swipe takes you to the apps page
where you can see what's running or find any app,
quickly !
Look how easy it is to start applications
or switch from app to app.
We have both rich native applications
and webapplications,
side by side as equal citizens on the tablet.
Switching between apps so fluently
makes Ubuntu great from multitasking.
But we wanted to go even further.
So we created something unique to Ubuntu.
It's called the "side stage".
Swipe through the right edge
and you reveal phone apps running on your tablet.
If you're comfortable here, because you can use your phone to work with them
just as you would on the phone.
And of course any tablet app that supports the phone layout
will also fit in the "side stage".
You can have at loose or split the screen between a tablet
and phone layout.
And that makes Ubuntu the best tablet for multitasking.
You can use phone and tablet apps
at the same time.
It all fits together perfectly.
You can see how a phone home screen
stretches naturally to the tablet.
And we use that extra-room to celebrate your content
with gorgeous pages for apps, movies, music...
It's the cleanest,
most stylish tablet interface,
and searching is easy and fast.
We bring your content into the home screen,
so you don't have to find the right app first.
Just choose what you want
and start watching instantly.
Creating beautiful apps that works seamlessly
across devices like this media player
is easy with our SDK.
For developers, that's amazing !
Check out the code at developer.ubuntu.com.
Standard ubuntu settings,
notifications and indicators
work just as you'd expect,
without breaking your focus.
We have this smooth touch experience
which people love on the phone,
here on the tablet as well.
So you can connect to wifi
or reply to messages without losing your flow.
It's a great way to be social
while you're enjoying movie.
But the tablet is for much more than watching movies.
It should also be in outfit,
for your artistic ideas,
a way if you do create things of beauty.
And it is incredible what people are already able to do on tablet.
Now to make you even more productive
and more efficient on a touchscreen
We invented a way to bring all the power of your PC
to your tablet.
So you have richer, more capable apps that you drive
just by speaking.
That gives you total control over your work.
That makes Ubuntu your true creative campus,
the smartest way to work in a touch environment.
And there is one more little gem.
We're adding it to Ubuntu for the first release of the phone and tablet.
Sharing is now a standard service supporting all the major networks
So any app can share content easily,
and the "side stage" is yours to do that without losing your focus.
So that's your five minutes tour
of the Ubuntu tablet :
We use all the edges of your screen.
The left edge as your favourite apps,
the right as the "side stage",
the top, all your settings and system services
and the bottom edge gives you control of your application
it's the cleanest, freshest,
most beautiful tablet experience around.
Now, imagine you have an Ubuntu phone
that gorgeous fast interface in your hand.
Dock the phone to a larger touch screen,
and Ubuntu presents the tablet interface
and of course all your phone apps keep running on the "side stage".
Now add a keyboard and mouse.
Suddenly your tablet is a full PC,
running thousands of Ubuntu desktop apps
and all Windows apps as a thin client.
Perfect for enterprise users that want an ability
and security.
And when you want to relax,
take in a movie at the end of the day
kick back and point your remote off the screen
and it becomes a brilliant media center
and a gaming console.
All of these experiences of just one device.
The one you have in your pocket right now
Your phone !
That's unique to Ubuntu
and that's the future of personal computing
