Because I like to be comfortable. There are pervasive stereotypes about masculinity and femininity 這裡面有太多對男子氣概或女性陰柔無所不在的刻板印象 that define how we're all supposed to act, dress and speak 這決定我們應有的行為舉止、穿著和說話方式 and they serve no one. Anyone who defies these so-called norms becomes worthy of comment and scrutiny. And the LGBT community knows this all to well. Yet there is courage all around us. Laverne Cox the musicians Tegan and Sara Quinn, 歌手Tegan 和Sara Quinn the family who supports their daughter or son who has come out. And there is courage in this room. 還有在這裡,充滿勇氣的你們 All of you. And I'm inspired to be in this room because every single one of you is here for the same reason You're here because you've adopted as a core motivation 你們在這裡 就是一起相信著一個重要又簡單的事實 the simple fact that this world would be a whole lot better if we just made an effort to be less horrible to one another. If we took just five minutes to recognize each other's beauty instead of attacking each other for our differences. It's really an easier and better way to live. And ultimately it saves lives. Then again it can be the hardest thing. Because loving other people starts with loving ourselves and accepting ourselves. And I know many of you have struggled with this. And I draw upon your strength and your support in ways that you will never know. And I am here today because I am gay. Hahaha. 嗚~嗚~嗚 Thank you. 謝謝你們 And because... 也因為 maybe I can make a difference 也許我可以做出改變 to help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless for me I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility. I also do it selfishly 也出自於我個人的私心 because I'm tired of hiding 由於我厭倦了躲藏 and I'm tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. 這幾年的深受其擾只因為我害怕出櫃 My spirit suffered, 我的精神狀態受折磨 my mental health suffered, 我的心理健康受折磨 and my relationship suffered. And I'm standing here today with all of you on the other side of that pain. And I am young, yes. But what I have learned is that love— 但我其中所學到的是如何去愛 the beauty of it, 愛的美麗 the joy of it 愛的喜悅 and, yes, even the pain of it— 對沒錯,甚至是愛的傷痛 is the most incredible gift to give and to receive as a human being. And we deserve to experience love fully, 我們值得全心全意的去感受愛 equally, 平等的去體驗 without shame and without compromise. There are too many kids out there suffering from bullying, rejection 其中有太多的孩子們遭受到霸凌、排擠 or simply being mistreated for who they are. 太多的中輟生 Too much abuse. 太多的欺凌辱罵 Too many homeless. 太多無家可歸的人 Too many suicides. 太多的自殺事件 You can change that 你可以改變 and you are changing it. But you never needed me to tell you that. And that's why this was a little bit weird. The only thing I can really say is what I have been building up to for the past five minutes 而我唯一可以分享的 在過去這五分鐘一直支持我的 thank you. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for giving me hope. And please keep changing the world for people like me. Happy Valentine's Day. I love you.
