We live in the biggest metropolitan area in the world, Tokyo, an area with 37 million inhabitants.

It would take you over nine years to count aloud to 37 million.

Our city may be huge, but our house is not.

It's a three-bedroom, by-level apartment.

Our twins, Rebecca and Anna, eight years old and in third grade, walk each day to the local Japanese elementary school.

Well, that's how everyone does it, and their whole education is in, you guessed it, Japanese.

Dad and mom have a hard time helping them with their homework.

Then they work hard at home learning English and piano

Sarah, whose five years old, goes each day to a Japanese kindergarten nearby, where she learns Japanese and participates in cute little programs.

You always know who she is; she's the blond one.

Joshua is two years old and loves playing with cars and trucks at home and acting like he runs the place.

But it's really Ruth who keeps everyone happy and well-fed as she makes friends with the moms, hosts parties at home, and leads the kids' ministries at church.

Did I mention that she wrote a kid's song that has over 12,000 plays on YouTube?

I lead the music ministers at church and recently produced a Japanese worship album.

We both work together to disciple Japanese believers in our small groups and raise up leaders in the church.

And when we're not doing all of that, we like to take a break and relax a bit, and that's just a little bit about our life in Japan.
