Well, my life has been bit of a roller coaster, to say the least, over the last couple of years.

恩,我的人生有點像雲霄飛車一樣。至少可以這樣說，在最近這兩年

I mean, losing my dad to cancer in 2011 was one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with in my life.

我爸爸在2011年因為癌症過世，這是我人生中最難度過的時候

And then winning an Olympic medal last year, in 2012, in front of a home crowd.

然後去年2012，在一大群國人面前得到了奧運獎牌

Finishing my A-levels this year. It's been hectic.

完成了我的學位，這真的很令人興奮

Well, one thing that I consider pretty important is to have some form of private life.

我覺得有一件事非常重要，就是在私生活上保有一點空間

You are probably thinking, why did you do a book

你們可能在想，那你幹麻出書

and why did you do a documentary and all that kind of stuff,

幹麻拍紀錄片，諸如此類的

but I've only ever talked about things that I felt comfortable talking about.

但我只想要說我感到自在說出的事

When I was younger I hated talking about the bullying situation at school,

在我年輕時，我很討厭說我在學校被霸凌的事

and I didn't like talking about my dad because obviously at the time it was a sensitive subject.

還有關於我爸的事，因為在那時候很明顯是一個敏感的話題

But I mean, it's one of those things that in an ideal world I wouldn't be doing this video because it shouldn't matter.

但是我認為如果在理想的情況下我不會拍這影片，因為不重要

But recently I was misquoted in an interview, and it made me feel really angry

但是最近我在一場訪問中的談論被錯誤引用了，這讓我感到很生氣

and frustrated and emotions I have never felt before when reading something about myself.

還有沮喪，一些我以前從來沒有的情緒，當我讀到一些關於我自己的文章時

For me, honesty is something that I really do believe in.

對我而言，誠實是我非常堅信的事

And I have always been honest. I may have been vague in some of my answers, but I have always been honest.

And one thing I have never really felt that comfortable talking about are my relationships,

because it's what I get asked even if I'm doing sporting interviews is, do you have girlfriend,

who are you seeing, all of that kind of stuff. And I, I've been dating girls and I've never really had a serious relationship to talk about.

有沒有曖昧對象，都是一些像這樣的話題。我之前曾經有交往對象，但從沒有過一段認真的感情可以拿來說

And now I kind of feel ready to talk about my relationships.

而我現在已經準備好要來說說我的感情生活

Come spring of this year my life changed — massively — when I met someone and it made me feel so happy, so safe,

就在今年春天我的人生從此改變了---很大的改變---當我遇到某一個人，我感到很快樂很有安全感

and everything just feels great, and well, that someone is a guy.

一切都很好，那個人是男人

And it did take me by surprise a little bit

這讓我有一點點嚇到

It was always in the back of my head that something like that could happen,

其實我常常想到過這事有可能會發生的

but it wasn't until spring this year that something that just clicked, it felt right, and I was like, OK.

但是一直到了今年春天才發生，感覺對了，我覺得ok

And like I said my whole world just changed right there and then.

就像我說的我的世界改變了，從那時候起

Of course I still fancy girls, but right now I'm dating a guy and I couldn't be happier.

當然我還是喜歡女生，但是現在我在和男生約會，然後我開心到不行了

I just feel safe. And it just really does feel right.

我覺得很有安全感，然後覺得感覺對了

People are going to have their own opinions, and I think people are going to make a big deal of this.

大家會有很多意見，我想可能會造成轟動

I mean, is it a big deal? Well, I don't think so.

我想，這不是什麼大事吧?恩,我不這樣覺得

People will call me a liar. People, I mean, it's going to be big, but I wanted to say something,

大家可能會叫我騙子。大家可能會把事情鬧大，但我只想說一些事

and I feel like now I'm ready, and I wanted to do it.

我想我現在已經準備好了，我想要說了

People will think what will your dad say, what would your dad would have said,

大家可能會想說你爸會說什麼，如果你爸還在他會說什麼

he always said to me, as long as you are happy, I'm happy.

他總是跟我說，只要你開心我就開心

And right now I couldn't be happier. My mom has been so supportive as well.

現在我超開心的，我媽也很支持我

I could count the number of people I've told on my hand.

我可以算出我跟幾個人說了

But all of my friends and family that I've told have been so supportive, which has been great.

但所有知道這件事的朋友.家人都很支持我，這真的很棒

But I told the rest of my family today, and let's just say there are mixed opinions.

但我今天告訴的其他的家人，有著不同的意見

Lots of them didn't believe it. Lots of them wanted me to keep it quiet.

他們有幾個人不相信，都叫我不要說出來

Some said why don't you just do a statement, why don't you do a magazine cover,

有些人說你為什麼不發個聲名稿或是弄個雜誌封面

why don't you do a TV interview, but I didn't want to get my words twisted,

或是上節目受訪，但是我不想我的意思被扭曲

I wanted to put an end to all the rumors and speculation and just say it and tell you guys.

我想要結束所有的謠言和猜測，我只想要告訴你們大家

You know, it's what I want to do. My friends and family are always there to support me, and I hope you guys can be too.

你知道的，這就是我想要做的。我朋友和家人一直都很支持我，然後我希望你們也能像那樣

I'm still Tom. I still want to win an Olympic gold medal in Rio 2016 for Great Britain.

我還是Tom。我還想再2016的里約奧運替英國贏得金牌

I am still as motivated as ever to do that, and it would be great to have you guys on that journey too.

我還是像以前一樣很有鬥志的，如果你們能跟我一起參與這趟旅程的話這會很棒

But I just wanted to make sure that I got to tell you guys before I head off to Houston

但我只是想確定你們能在我去休士頓之前知道

for a training camp that I've got up until Christmas.

我得去那裡參加一個訓練營一直到聖誕節前

So, I'm glad that I got it off my chest.

所以我很高興我能說出這件事
