  • Are you ready for four to, um Okay, then you realize you're speeding, so let's go with it now.

  • Way got the block.

  • Corsair is proud to present their new hydro X line of custom water cooling products.

  • The new XT revive Siri's radiators offer the perfect balance of Finn density and airflow to keep your loop cool and quiet.

  • The extra seven water blocks feature full coverage cooling Fergie Pew while also maintaining an aesthetically pleasing design.

  • While the XY seven and X C nine CP blocks keep all your modern CPU is nice and cool To see the complete lineup of high directs cooling products from course there, click the link in the description below.

  • Here we are part two of this build.

  • I still need to know what this bill is gonna be used in or if it's even gonna stay together.

  • But I'm having fun building it, which also decided, maybe decide I want to build a new skunk works, Yes, but that's a that's a conversation for another day.

  • I got some fun plans in store for that one.

  • So we're gonna get today.

  • I should get this whole bill done in three parts and reason for that is I'm still waiting on some parts that are trickling in.

  • So we're gonna be doing, um, custom cables.

  • Like I said, those still have to arrive Those air coming from cable mod.

  • We gotta put the block on here, and then we're gonna start doing tubing and stuff I wanted to do, like origen tube, a metal tube like a went down toe, Lowe's Home Depot to try and get copper.

  • The problem is because we're using 14 moment or fittings none of the copper piping here in the United States that at least that we use because, remember, were imperials were all inch based system isn't gonna fit these fittings.

  • They would have fit 13 mil fittings if I went with 3/8 inch in diameter, which the outer diameter was exactly 1/2 inch and 13 millimeter and half inch are usually interchangeable.

  • But because we're using the 14 millimeter, we can't do that.

  • So we're gonna do is we're using the Corsair tubing that was supplied.

  • And as you can see, this is a 14 millimeter tube, but the inner diameter is still a 10 so typically 10 by 13 mil is how the tubing is arranged.

  • I guess 14 millimeter became a lot more popular lately, and that's because of wall thickness.

  • And when you have a nice thick wall in the tube because you could see my 10 millimeter cord still fits in there perfectly when you have a thicker wall, it means that you can get some pretty decent bends without thinking and stuff.

  • So I'm not to mention the thicker wall just looks better to me sometimes.

  • Um, like the 12 mill stuff always looks too small, in my opinion.

  • 16 millimeters too big.

  • So 14 is probably just the perfect sweet spot, considering that is exactly in between 12 and 16 because I passed math class twice.

  • So if all goes according to plan today, we should be able to get the radiator up top, which have decided I am gonna do the 2 80 No, I kind of wish I 2 to 40 because then these would be not offset.

  • It's far because I think that these air set wider than 360.

  • I take it out.

  • See, that's that's right.

  • So I gotta put the fans up here.

  • The radiator get the loop laid out.

  • I gotta pull this back out, which I was hoping I would have to do Get the block on here and we might actually be able to get the tube.

  • At least some of the tube runs done today still have decided entirely if I'm going to use a whole bunch of fittings or if I'm gonna do bends.

  • But either way, I've got this just in case.

  • So I want to see how tight this actually clamps down.

  • We'll go from there so you can see now why having these removable trays toe work with are kind of a godsend, because that was a lot easier than last time around.

  • I was all, like, screwed with it because if I had to do all of this while it was mounted in there, that would suck so bad.

  • But here's the thing.

  • If I had a 2 40 I thought I had it to 40 for this kid, but I don't I would run into 47 to 80 up top.

  • The cooling difference is fairly negligible, but if you look, you'll see that these fittings are different widths apart just a little bit.

  • But if I had a 2 40 That means that these would have all been on exactly the same plane.

  • So I could have just done a single elbow with a straight run right to that.

  • It would have lined up.

  • But now you can see that's how far offset they're gonna be has also been a piece of hardware change since the first video Really changing up this G still memory for the actual risin optimized Corsair stuff.

  • Because the new Dominator Platinum, which has their new L E D's don't have this big white bar on top.

  • This white bar, although, looks really good for defusing the RGB like that comes out of it.

  • This build is not an RGB build.

  • Yes, I know there's already being pretty much everything here, but what I mean is, I'm not using the functionality of RGB where I'm gonna be setting it up to rainbow puke and all that.

  • I just want very subtle lighting and I might even turn most of it off personally.

  • But that's kind of the beauty of RGB is that you could do that.

  • This would be very similar to how I did my d frame build.

  • You guys remember that the same exact concept to Thio are fitting tube to reservoir and then reservoir out.

  • I wish the out was on this side assess overcoming a debt assessed, adapt and overcome.

  • Well, I can't that's that's somebody else's.

  • I can't you digress.

  • Complaining to eat.

  • I want him in the woods.

  • I just yell it.

  • Nature.

  • So, unfortunately, I don't have enough compression fittings in black to be able to use the, uh, top rad.

  • So I have a choice to make here.

  • Don't do the top rad and use black or use chrome and use the top radiator.

  • Do you think I should just go to Twitter and do a quick trigger pull people like 10 minutes because the 1st 10 minutes the ratio stays the same day.

  • The whole pole?

  • All right, so after 714 votes in just a couple of minutes, it's a 60 40 split.

  • That's a lot closer than I thought it was gonna be.

  • You don't know the truth, which doesn't make our job easier.

  • For a minute there it was like, uh, 58 42 which I was like, Oh, crap, because when it's that close and even 60 40 I mean in terms of fractions, that's, like barely a majority split.

  • Right?

  • So a lot of people manually, manually wrote in J.

  • Why don't you just paint the chrome fittings?

  • Uh, I paid his other parts, right.

  • So be kind of hypocritical.

  • Like I don't wanna pay parts around we're gonna do.

  • Here is Here's the black.

  • We've got 12 chrome fittings.

  • We need 10.

  • So we've got two extra.

  • What I'm gonna do is I'm a puppy's o rings off for a quick And because it's the neural dhe, which is like that kind of a diamond cut, it's got lots of surface area to bite on.

  • I don't really care what happens with the threads right there.

  • I am a little concerned about the surface, though, because the ring still has the squish in there, and then the internal ring can't be painted because I just cut a small piece of this tube.

  • You have a lot of the sea, but cut small pieces and then I'll shove the tubes in there so that kind of works is like a method to stop the paint from getting inside because we don't want pain getting on the O rings We don't want paint getting on the surfaces that mate for a seal because that concern gooey.

  • Who knows what the reaction will be to the fluid over time?

  • Because we are just using that engine enamel they had from last time.

  • So I'm gonna prepare this and then we'll we'll see how this goes.

  • It's acrylic and it's not The G could have lost an eye right now.

  • That's okay.

  • It's not okay, But it's okay that I didn't what I mean, wait first coats.

  • Always just a light dusting.

  • Yeah, kind of is it to stick better?

  • And when that drives, then people have said in the past, J paint the two, but I always thought now as ugly and messy.

  • But maybe, just maybe we might do this.

  • We might paint the fittings and paint the tube, so this is the one I painted right here.

  • As you can see, right chrome on the inside.

  • It's really durable, and the thing is like I like ours better because it hasn't a shine, has a shimmer like this, has little bit of shimmer to it.

  • It isn't bad.

  • So, Phil, we about to paint all these settings way of thinking about it.

  • We realized why we need to pay all of them.

  • So if we use these where they're not gonna be, has noticed like back here in the back of the 2 80 and maybe on, like, the backside of the jeep, you where it's gonna come up to here, or the back of the rez, like right here behind the other one.

  • Then maybe we could just get away painting two of them so that we have the then take all my chrome fittings, which I could use for other things and then have them be stuck entirely to this.

  • Now, I could strip the paint off.

  • You just used aircraft remover sprayed on there.

  • The paint would come off, you wash it off with water and then you're not stuck with it.

  • But I'm kind of looking at this way.

  • If I might.

  • If I decide that, maybe paint the tubes, I have more paint for that.

  • So what we're gonna do right now is we're just gonna go ahead and paint another one, and we're just going to, too, because that seems like the best use of our time.

  • So I guess that makes that entire Twitter poll.

  • Not useless, though, because it sort of gave us the idea of like, Well, why don't we just go ahead and do that?

  • Because I had thought of it.

  • But I usually just throw the idea of painting something out, because I guess I've said I think like three times now I just find paint.

  • Why did it take us out?

  • I didn't have to.

  • I just find the idea of paint to be kind of inherently like Messi and just kind of not the best option, but it's It's an option that anyone could do.

  • I guess it's easy and, uh, cheap paint is cheap.

  • And, yes, we're just gonna play one more.

  • And yes, you can call it lazy if you want, but it's not.

  • I don't feel it's lazy.

  • Yeah, efficient.

  • All right, so with just the house lights on without all this light blasting at it, can you tell which one's the painted one?

  • I mean the angle.

  • You're at you probably because you see it's chrome on that, but this one's the non painted one.

  • That one's the painted one.

  • So as you could see, that's why we're making the choice to only paint two of them.

  • That works out really well.

  • And then, of course, once it's in the system and you're looking at it from like that angle, it's this one, right?

  • Can't even tell.

  • So perfect.

  • Perfect.

  • So you guys are wondering what paint matches?

  • It's just the flat black engine enamel from AutoZone pht pht if the brand So the problem now is I've got to get to here so you can see that's like the offset.

  • That's how far off it ISS.

  • But usually what, Matt mates, it makes it match is if you could take, like, a duel, Rotary 90.

  • Or in this case, we're just gonna see if this will work with 2 45 and you could just offset it that way.

  • The problem to 40 fives is he has the extra thickness of the neural ing right there, which makes it not work sometimes.

  • So we're just going to see here.

  • I also wouldn't just do a bend in the tubing for this because the problem is the bend would just be like a slight kink.

  • It would look really weird.

  • I know I've done this a lot.

  • This whole concept, I said in the last video.

  • I have, like, my methods, and I just sort of stick to them.

  • All right, so we need tube and I need a way to cut, said Tube.

  • I kind of Really?

  • Yeah.

  • Ah oh, bit right.

  • But I'm starting to think I'm just going to go with the 14 millimeter carpet, too.

  • Just order it up.

  • You know, it's like, Okay, there's one cut.

  • You guys stand it and trying out the sand it by scratching the part that's visible to, you know.

  • I mean, like, do this inside.

  • Probably not a good idea.

  • Utility utilities didn t o that one.

  • I'll say this for acrylic, though.

  • It's a lot more like scratch resistant than Petey.

  • Like P T.

  • G seems it's really soft, so it does scratch easily.

  • So there is the benefits of that with acrylic, at least.

  • But I still think for the sake of this video now, since we're still sticking with the dark, dark, Nitish esque theme, I think I need to source, um, some carbon or black tubing, at least.

  • So as far as I'm aware, this is the first course there, 5760 block in the wild.

  • It looks exactly like we thought it would.

  • No, you get that looks exactly like I thought it would just like the other blocks we took a look at which, um I'm still inclined to go with the horizontal mountain up the vertical.

  • But we got to get it in there and kind of see for ourselves, I think.

  • But I have to paint that this piece on the top.

  • You know, it's gonna cover up where it says hydra Rex Siri's because if I go horizontal even if I go non war zone to Oh, I forgot about that.

  • I love course there.

  • And the fact they replied that thermal pads and then replaced.

  • So anyway, um, that silver just sort of clashes.

  • I just know that silver like that silver Not not like shiny.

  • That's and then if you go like that, at least the nickel the whole block would show.

  • But I don't think I'm gonna do that.

  • But what I might as well do, at least right now, take that piece often.

  • Let that start drawing paint and dry while I'm screwing with the other stuff.

  • That's why I let my fixit kit if you guys want your own, you get it on Amazon.

  • I've got a link down below, not a sponsor, so this should be a really easy block.

  • Install kudos to Corsair in their first water block appears to be built very robust, but the fact that the thermal pad their pre applied and so is the pace.

  • I mean, when it comes to manufacturing, that's probably a fairly pricey extra step in terms of manufacturing, because that's I don't know if, like a plucker could do that.

  • Like, I think a human probably has to put those on there.

  • And if that's the case, then that means they're pan.

  • It makes it sort of idiot proof where you can't put the pads in the wrong place.

  • The thermal pace is already on there.

  • It's a full cover, as you could see, so it's gonna touch everything on the die, which is what you want.

  • The problem when you go liquid thermal paste and all that is you've got to do all that stuff yourself manually, and you can see there's clearly a very high quality manufacturing process.

  • This shroud is metal.

  • That's metal, not plastic.

  • So be mindful that you can't scratch it, and then you can see just the quality of the nickel plating.

  • And they're the fine micro fins that air there for the GPU block or the GPU die.

  • This conflict either direction.

  • There's no flow plate for it to go through like down and then split so you can go this direction or that direction, whichever is easiest.

  • In my case, I'll probably come in from this side.

  • And then when it comes time to mounted up, you don't have to, like, play the game of trying to get all the pads on their in the right spot and hope nothing falls off for squishing your pace too early.

  • So we're gonna just throw it on there and see how it does.

  • I'm not entirely sure, though, if I want to use the RGB lighting, I probably will just cause I'm probably gonna do like a very faint white glow or because this is a dark night theme that might even do a very faint yellow glow I could play with it.

  • It's the joys of RGB or in this case, just being G.

  • You yellow.

  • No way being gay is like what does that make Yeah, you're color Blind guy just corrected me.

  • I'm done.

  • I was thinking yellow and blue and green, That's what it wa ce, I think.

  • Yeah.

  • So, like, that's how you knew it was sealed there.

  • The whole campaign, Dan, they're seriously, they've got to warranty void stickers Every time you border want warranty A Steve gets his wings.

  • Ah, sharp thing in nail cuticle ao the edge of the plug like the cape.

  • The vampire guys trying to get out.

  • So I was trying to, like, go like that.

  • Do it like on the sharp edge.

  • Yeah, like just through the end of the cuticle.

  • Oh, see, this will work.

  • Is it just like the most basic of concepts of, like things that could make it look so much better?

  • Because if even if you have to look at it that way, it's like you don't be looking at a orange PCB.

  • I guess if this shows, like proves anything is that you can make subtle differences to your build that look really cool with a Sharpie in a pink can write, it's not hard.

  • It's not like a mod.

  • I mean, we are modifying it, but it's not like we're cutting anything is enough room here for the night with wires it to come out the back of the card.

  • That be terrible.

  • If that's the only spot that comes out that I'm gonna leave him in there.

  • I just put my own notch in there.

  • Yes, I'm aware this is not a metal cutting bit.

  • It's the only one I got there.

  • So now these can come out this way.

  • Okay, relax.

  • Now he's just ghetto like that.

  • That's the exact same thing to make.

  • I didn't want to, like, scratch the back plate.

  • This graphics card, though, looks really sick.

  • I'll blacked out like this.

  • OK, so we put this back fan in here, and then that's where we're going to stop for today.

  • I know it doesn't seem like we got a lot done because we didn't I mean, we got some basic mods, and I guess, if anything you could take away from today's video is that basic little, little subtle changes can make a huge difference to the appearance of a system, even if you're dealing with like a budget build, and I know I've known people toe spray paint their catch up in mustard cables now that I don't really recommend it.

  • But you could, I guess.

  • But what you can see now is just like this graphics card alone by taking care of the orange PCB that shows and then painting this piece black changed the look of that block so much.

  • And I know a lot of you right now are probably like j go vertical vertical mount.

  • And I don't want to do that because as I said, too much nickel plating will then show since I'm not doing nickel fittings.

  • If I was doing nickel fittings that I think I would vertical mount that.

  • But since I'm doing the whole blacked out look and I've got to get black tubes and stuff now, you can kind of see if you look at this fitting here what this black tube looks like.

  • This is just acrylic that's been used to paint the fittings.

  • And so it's taking up all the black That's gonna just get an idea here with this look like with the black tubes.

  • Yes, that is exactly what I was going for.

  • I wanted it to look all the black and they get sticking.

  • Not really.

  • there.

  • It's there, but it's not there.

  • And then you see you like, Whoa, it's there.

  • I didn't know it was there another and see that they are like while it's totally there.

  • So that's kind of what I was going for.

  • I could technically even paint the reservoir, hear me out by taking a thin piece of tape, like the quarter inch wide tape that I use for my model building and stuff that used to mask off.

  • It's a very fine tape designed to have a very crisp edge.

  • I could put a line right down the middle, and that would be how you could see how full the water is.

  • But then the rest of it would be black, so I still might even do that.

  • But I had to figure out how this reservoir comes apart.

  • It might be glued.

  • If it is, then it means I would have to do a lot of masking, but it wouldn't be impossible.

  • I mean, since I'd like to do the difficult model ships and stuff, that would be pretty freaking easy.

  • So the other things we need to do before we could finish this build, I need to order my cables from cable mod.

  • Like I said, there's gonna be a black theme as well.

  • It was like maybe a carbon, like a black carbon.

  • Um, and then we've got our other ran that's coming in our dominator platinum, which is black.

  • I don't know if I want to paint the tubing, but if I paint the tubing like that right there, then we know that reservoir will match.

  • So if I get to being that's already black or like carbon fiber or whatever, then the reservoir may not necessarily match it.

  • So, man, decisions, decisions.

  • Well, there's time for you guys to sound off in the comments.

  • By the time you guys see this, I'm still gonna be arranging with some parts that need to come in.

  • I'll be waiting on the cables and stuff so I might have an opportunity to do that.

  • I might also just ask Corsair, pick and send me another one who's reservoirs just so I can try it.

  • And if I screwed up.

  • But we have a Plan B.

  • Um, yeah, but I was not expecting painted acrylic tubing toe.

  • Look this good.

  • All right, guys.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • As always, we'll see you in the next one.

  • And I promised him to try and keep this one to a three parter only.

Are you ready for four to, um Okay, then you realize you're speeding, so let's go with it now.
