Hi, Voicetubers! It’s Tera. Today is March 31th, the last day of March. Everything alright recently? Today’s video is going to bring us to something that is so common and somehow is the trend nowadays. What’s that? Working multiple jobs! You might have seen some of your friends, your family, or even yourself taking more than one job. When talking about people who work like a busy bee, we usually consider them to be versatile and have multiple income resources. However, this video views it from a different perspective, it argues the hidden costs of working multiple jobs. Have you ever thought about this issue in such a new facet? If not, then I suggest you grab a few minutes watching it, perhaps that can give you some hints when making hard decisions. Ok, time for the sentence of the day.

Featured sentence: If you feel like multiple workloads would be too much to handle, you might want to reconsider having another job.

Tips:
multiple: three syllables with the stress on the first one. "mul" sounds like "mo", "ti" is a minor schwa sound "ti", and then there’s a "dark l" in the last syllable "ple". "mul-ti-ple".
workload: two syllables with the stress on the first one as well. Remember, "or" in "work" is pronounced as /ɝ/ but not "or", whereas "oa" in "load" should be /oʊ/. There is a minor /ʊ/ behind /o/, please remember that! "work-load".
reconsider: four syllables with the stress on the third syllable. "re-con-si-der". This word could be divided into two parts. One is the prefix "re", which means "again", another is "consider", meaning thinking over. Again, "re-con-si-der".

Vocab:
multiple (adj.) KK [ˋmʌltəp!] IPA /ˈmʌl.tə.pəl/
def: very many of the same type, or of different types
由許多部分組成的;複合的;多樣的
John has multiple tattoos on his arms, which makes his mom angry.
約翰的雙臂上有多個刺青,這讓他媽媽很生氣。

workload (n.) KK [ˋwɝk͵lod] IPA /ˈwɝːk.loʊd/
def: the amount of work to be done, especially by a particular person or machine in a period of time
工作量
The manager quitted the job due to the heavy workload.
經理辭了工作,因為工作量太重了。

reconsider (v.) KK [͵rikənˋsɪdɚ] IPA /ˌriː.kənˈsɪd.ɚ/
重新考慮
def: to think again about a decision or opinion
The man suggests the woman reconsider the marriage proposal and say “yes'' but she refuses.
男人建議女人重新考慮並答應求婚,但她拒絕了。

Outro:
Do you know what "Opportunity Cost" is? Actually, this video is trying to teach us how to compare the benefits one thing brings you with the drawbacks using opportunity cost. Opportunity cost is a concept in economics that qualifies the impact of selecting one option instead of another "next best" alternative. Consider this, let’s say, if you take three jobs, for example, you work as an employee for a company in the morning, you film videos and be a content creator after getting home, and you are a freelance model on weekends. What you get can be fortune, networking, life experience, domain knowledge; however, on the other hand, it may also take your time spent with your beloved ones, make you tired and thus affect your working efficiency or health condition, and sometimes it could also force you to spend additional money. When it happens, you’ll then have to use opportunity cost to evaluate the value of making a decision. After all, "There is no such thing as a free lunch." But don’t be upset, taking multiple jobs proves that you have multitasking skills, trust me, not everyone can do this! Alright, that’s all for today. Stay tuned, and see you in April!
