字幕列表 影片播放 已審核 字幕已審核 列印所有字幕 列印翻譯字幕 列印英文字幕 So, what’s up, guys? 大家好 Good to see everybody again, good to be back! 很高興能夠再見到你們 I have numerous Taiwanese friends who working 10-12 hours each day, 我有很多台灣朋友每天都工作10-12個小時 but only being paid for 7 or 8 hours each day. 但卻沒有領到加班費 But that seems to be normal in Taiwan; everybody I know just says that’s the way it is. 我朋友跟我說這在台灣是很正常的事 There are a few reasons for why this exists, 會產生這個現象有幾個原因 And one of the ones that I believe is contributing to this problem is the corporations, the companies, 其中一個原因是跟財團公司有關 also the social mechanisms of Taiwanese society. 還有台灣的社會結構 Social mechanism could be best explained as behaviours and things that we think are normal 社會結構最好的解釋是我們認為平常的行為和事情 that we have been conditioned to believe and act out accordingly to what our society says. 我們一直被社會灌輸的觀念 Taiwanese people believe that they should work hard. 台灣人相信他們應該要更努力工作 If they work hard, they would be rewarded even if they are not paid for those hours. 即使他們並沒有得到加班費，他們還是相信如果他們努力工作，他們就可以有回報， When they work them, they believe that they will be able to advance in the company eventually and make more money. 他們相信最後他們一定能升遷還能賺更多錢 That kinda belief would be a social mechanism, it would be conditioning of the mind and of the work force 那是一種被社會灌輸的觀念 that has taken generations to create. 這種觀念是好幾個世代累積的 Maybe some more bravery. 或許需要更多勇氣 I think there is a lot of fear that controls Taiwanese people in their daily lives. 我覺得台灣人對生活有很多恐懼 The social conditioning that makes them not want to stand out, that creates a kind of fear 這導致他們不敢站出來，這就是一種恐懼 that makes it easier for Taiwanese people to just say, “Well, working 10 hours, 12 hours each day is what everybody does, so I do it too. 這讓台灣人更容易說”加班是理所當然的” Being from America, we have a lot of different labor laws; They prevent us from working more than what we are paid for. 在美國，我們有很多不同的勞工法。那些法律能夠保障我們不超時工作 Even as a worker in America, you are not even allowed to work for free. 甚至你不能免費幫人工作 And so, one of my Taiwanese friends was raised in America and they are now here working in Taiwan, and I ask them 還有，我在美國長大的台灣朋友現在在台灣工作，所以我問他們 how they work and they said they refused to work the hours that all the other Taiwanese in their company did. 在台灣工作如何?他們說他們拒絕超時工作 And so, not everybody is, you know, working the long hours, and my friend is still okay. 然而，不是每個人都可以接受超時工作的，我朋友就堅持自己 Actually, I’m gonna call him right now.
