  • So, for example, if you've got, like a customer service telephoning to do, tell me you've got that coming up and then I'll give you a list of questions.

  • Okay?

  • Three important things that we need to cover during this training video.

  • Three important things positivity wanted.

  • Briefly talk about that, but trust me, this is very, very important.

  • During your telephone interview.

  • They can't see you because it's on the telephone.

  • So therefore you have to come across in a positive way.

  • And I'm going to give you one really cool trick on howto beat the positivity positivity trap because some people will be negative on the phone.

  • You're gonna use this one thing to be positive.

  • The 2nd 1 is research.

  • You don't have to do a huge amount of work, but if you follow the tips that I'm going to give you, then you will carry out sufficient research for your telephone interview.

  • And then the next one is the questions and answers.

  • You obviously want to know what kind of questions you're gonna come up against on also, how do you respond to them?

  • Well, I'm gonna give you a sample responses to these questions.

  • And then finally, I'm going to give you my top 10 tips for smashing your telephone interview.

  • Okay, So first of all, before we get into the actual real hawks of the content, what is a telephone interview used for?

  • Well, it's used for three predominant things.

  • The 1st 1 is it's a filter interview.

  • What that means is, it filters out those people they don't want to see face to face.

  • So you have to demonstrate that you've got the potential because if you're interviewing people and I've done this loads of times, you invite people to interview, and sometimes people walk through the door and you know within a couple of minutes that you're not gonna take him for the job.

  • Well, the telephone interview allows you to sift through a large number of people in a relatively short space of time.

  • So your job is to be positive and also demonstrate you have the key qualities and attributes for the role.

  • It's also used to save time.

  • Like I say, they don't want to invite 50 people to interview.

  • They can do the telephoning to whittle it down to just a few, and then the final bit is to see whether you have the potential for the job.

  • And I'm gonna give you some great advice for demonstrating that you have the potential.

  • And it's basically all around the job description.

  • So all jobs have a job description.

  • They say you'll be required to do X, y and Zed.

  • It might be toe work closely with our customers and clients, and they would probably want to see some evidence of when you've actually done that work with customers.

  • So they want to see join the telephone interview that you have the potential to do the role.

  • So first thing, positivity, let's quickly work through these three really important areas, positivity.

  • So listen to the difference in the following answers.

  • So I'm gonna give you an interview question on, then I'm going to respond to it.

  • So this interview question is one that you could get asked during your telephone interview.

  • And it is.

  • So why do you want this job?

  • Tell us why you want it.

  • I'm gonna give you one response, and then I'm gonna give you another one.

  • You decide which is the best one.

  • So why do you want this job?

  • Here's my first response.

  • I've been looking for a job for some time now, and it really would be great being able to work for a company again.

  • I've been finding it tough to get work, and I seem to struggle to get to the interview stage.

  • However, if you give me the chance to be interviewed for this job today, I'm sure I can excel and perform well, Um, you also seem to be a really good company to work for, so I'd like the chance to show you what I can do now.

  • You might think that's okay, but it's quite negative.

  • But if we look at this next response to the same question, why do you want this job?

  • As soon as I read the job description for the role, I instantly became excited.

  • As I feel strongly, I have the skills and attributes to perform the job to a high standard.

  • For example, one of the requirements of the role is toe work.

  • Well, as part of a team I have plenty of experience in this area on, I feel I can contribute positively to your organization on your goals.

  • I've also carried out some research with regards to your company.

  • I've been nothing but impressed with the products and high level of customer service you offer.

  • You have an outstanding online trust pilot score, and this obviously saves a lot about your Athos, your professionalism and your integrity.

  • Now, once the role of applying for is very important to me, I do really want to work for a positive and forward thinking organization like yours.

  • Now that's a great response, and a lot of say, I'll tell you where you can download this, and you can use it when you're responding to your telephone interview.

  • Now if we just quickly look at the positive words are used during that response, not quickly highlight them instantly.

  • Became excited.

  • Feels strongly high Standards work well as part of team.

  • Plenty of experience contribute positively.

  • I have been nothing but impressed.

  • The list goes on.

  • High level of customer service.

  • Outstanding online trust.

  • Paul.

  • It's cool.

  • They are all positive words.

  • And if you were listening to me tell you this during a response to your interview question, you would be nothing but impressed because they're positive.

  • So I want you to utilize positive words in your responses.

  • And, like I say, I'm gonna give you loads of sample responses to telephone interview question soon.

  • So that's a key thing.

  • Use positive words all the time and also smile when you're responding.

  • You know, I'm smiling now while I'm talking and that comes up across in a high energy manner.

  • Okay?

  • Because we want you to be positive.

  • Remember?

  • They can't see you join the telephone interview, so make sure you are positive.

  • It is contagious.

  • It is also attractive.

  • Okay, next thing research.

  • Now you're gonna have to do a little bit of research in preparation for the telephone interview, research against the company and roll.

  • You're being interviewed force of both the company on the roll.

  • Here's what I want you to do.

  • Have a look on their Web site to see what service is and products they offer.

  • So write down a little list so you can have the list in front of you.

  • Join the telephone interview because they can't see you.

  • So write down a list of the products that they offer.

  • Now, are there any positive news stories on their website?

  • So go along to their website and just pick out a couple of positive news stories.

  • You might see it on the about us page or the news page.

  • Who are the key personnel.

  • So the heads of department or the managing director of the chief executive officer who are there, So when they say tell us about our company can say, Well, I know that the person who heads up the department is this person.

  • It just shows that you've carried out research.

  • Have they been recognized for any achievements.

  • Maybe investors in people or something like that Again, it shows that you've done plenty of research.

  • Now, make sure you understand the role that you're being interviewed for and get a copy of the job description of the person specification and keep it with you.

  • Join the telephone interview.

  • So that's a bit on research.

  • The next thing toe be prepared for these research questions.

  • Tell me about your company.

  • What products and service is do we offer?

  • What do you know about the role you're being applied for?

  • Who are our main competitors?

  • So those are the four questions around research want you to prepare for.

  • Okay, Next thing.

  • Questions and answers.

  • So what I'm gonna do now, is that gonna work through a number of sample telephone interview questions and answers before I move on to my top 10 tips.

  • So don't worry about taking notes.

  • You can if you want to, but I'm gonna tell you where you can download all of these responses.
