It's supposed to make you grilled cheese within minutes.

據說這個在幾分鐘內就可以製作一份烤起士三明治

Obviously when you're making grilled cheese in a pan

當你用煎鍋做三明治的時候

you can control the heat a little.

火侯比較好控制

You can see how crispy your bread is getting

你可以看到麵包的部分變得多焦脆

and then you get that ooey gooey cheese.

然後還有會牽絲的濃濃起士

Will this do that?

這台機器辦得到嗎？

Probably not,

but will I get a really quick, simple grilled cheese?

I think so.

It seems like besides the basket,

I'm not sure what is like a huge difference between this and the regular toaster.

I'm always skeptical.

I wanna hate on everything.

I am super skeptical,

but I am very open in giving this a good fighting chance.

So when I look for a good grilled cheese,

一個好吃的烤起士三明治有這幾種標準

I want perfect crust.

我要酥脆的麵包

It's super important that it's super crispy

焦香酥脆的麵包超級重要的

and evenly consistent.

而且表面的焦脆程度要均勻

And then you want the cheese to be ooey gooey melty

再來，裡面的起士一定要會牽絲

without being burnt or uneven.

不能烤焦或不平均

That makes the perfect grilled cheese

這才是完美的烤起士三明治

and for only $20 maybe this thing will get me that.

這台只要美金 20 元的機器說不定真的做得到呢！

So first test we're gonna go super simple.

首先，第一個測試我們要很簡單

Bread,

麵包

little butter,

一點奶油

American cheese.

美式起士片

We have to preheat this guy before we add our sandwiches in here.

再放入三明治前，我們要先預熱這個烤麵包機

So we're gonna press down,

把這個壓下去

press preheat and when it's ready it'll pop up.

按下預熱按鈕，好了它就會跳起來

And I think at this stage it's also preheating the basket.

我想它應該同時也在預熱裡面的籃子

Okay it popped.

It's preheated.

So we're gonna take the basket out

and simply put our sandwich,

right in here.

So we're just testing this one.

Alright, I'm gonna go for a little bit of a higher heat

because I like my grilled cheese very toasty

and I want it to be melted in the center.

So we're gonna play it safe.

I smell toasted bread.

Oh my god!

I thought it was gonna like pop in my face.

Now we're supposed to hold it for 30 seconds,

so that the cheese melts.

Okay it's been 30 seconds.

Ta-dah!

I see the cheese,

I mean you can still see the indent,

but it's still like pretty melted.

And look melty, melty.

Took me about a minute to build this

and that's being generous.

Three minutes to toast it in here.

So less than five minutes you have a grilled cheese.

This little gadget actually gives you semi grill marks.

Alright so let's take a bite.

Alright.

So pretty melty.

It's melty in the inside,

crispy on the outside.

I would say that in less than five minutes,

this is what you're getting.

Look I did get a little bit of cheese on this thing.

你看，這上面真的有沾到一點起士

It would be like a real pain in the ass to clean that.

清理這個一定會頭很痛

So pretty great results with a regular grilled cheese,

用這台來做一般的烤起士三明治，成果還不錯

but you know what I wanna push the limits to this guy

但我要來測試這台機器的極限

because I like pushing limits.

因為我最喜歡挑戰極限了

And we'll test it with a thicker sandwich,

我們要用厚一點的三明治來試試

which is not recommended.

但它不建議我們這麼做

Stuff it with the shredded cheese.

把裡面塞滿起士絲

That's a good amount.

這樣夠多了

And we won't overstuff it,

我們不要塞得太多

but it's a little stuffed.

但現在是塞得挺滿的

Just gonna preheat it again.

要再一次預熱

And this time we'll test back at six just to be even.

這次我們一樣把溫度調到六

Alright so ready for this guy.

好，已經可以把三明治放進去了

I'm pleasantly surprised though

我其實還蠻驚訝的

that the cheese isn't dripping in one direction,

因為裡面的起士沒有往下滴

you know what I mean?

你懂我在說什麼嗎？

'Cause that's what I thought it would do.

因為我以為它會滴出來

Okay going for it.

好了，要把它拿出來了

Ta-dah!

完成！

Oh it's okay it's a melty drip.

喔，有融化的起士滴出來

It has a little bit of the cheese

它上面有一點起士

would kind of like pushed to the bottom.

被擠到底部了

And look drip, drip, drip.

你看，油在滴喔

Okay let's open her up

好，我們來打開它吧

and...

然後...

Okay good news is that it melted.

好消息是起士融化了

Bad news is that it all kind of like you know,

壞消息是，它好像...

I hope that it's even all throughout the sandwich.

我希望它裡面融化的程度是很均勻的

Not just like heavier on one side and lighter on the top.

而不是只有下面融化得較多，上面只有一點點

There is a little bit of a clean up,

烤出來後得做一點清潔

so it's not just like a pop and go.

不是說拿出來就好

So that's something to consider.

所以這點也得納入考量

But let's take a look at this.

Alright, yeah it's like super melty.

Slowly but surely.

滴得很慢，但還是有

Also it's not like something like mozzarella,

在加上這不是莫札瑞拉起士

it is cheddar cheese so.

Mm I think the fact that the toaster

嗯，我想因為這烤麵包機

was slightly more preheated

比前一次預熱得更久

'cause we made a few,

因為我們已經有做了幾個

made the toast actually you know a little bit crispier,

所以這份的麵包比上一個更酥脆

even at the same setting.

即使是在同一個設定

Which I actually love,

我很喜歡

I like my grilled cheese like super crispy.

我喜歡我的三明治酥酥脆脆的

So obviously with the shredded cheese

所以雖然用起士絲

there's a little bit of cheese action that's on your basket,

籃子上會沾到一些起士

but all in all I think that how the timing works

但整體來說，以它耗費的時間

it actually didn't make a crazy mess

它也沒有製造太多的髒亂

and this is something that I can live with

對我來講我可以接受啦

and also I can just like do this and do that.

而且其實我可以直接這樣做

that's an easy cleanup.

Just eat it.
