I believe I mentioned my dad wanted me to be a wallpaper hanger. I was exposed to very few jobs. As far as I knew you could be a doctor, you could be an orthodontist, a dentist, you could be a wallpaper hanger, a painter, you could own a retail store. I really didn’t understand what the possibilities were. As an academic I saw… that opened up some possibilities, but as a management consultant, “Wow!” You got to see - I was in the throws, in the bowels of some of these companies. So, some of my clients were very large, multi-national, some of them no longer exist for various reasons - economic crisis [said under a joking cough]. But, literally seeing how these large business operated and what the roles were was very fascinating. It let me start to map out what the possibilities were.
