So, let's get started. 那麼,就讓我們開始吧 The first one 第一個 Now, I should say that the first five are all written mistakes, that is if you say these 我應該說前五個都是關於書寫上的錯誤,也就是說如果你是用口說的 things, nobody will be able to tell what you're saying, but if you write them down then they 沒人會知道你犯錯,但是如果你寫下來 will see your mistake. 就會發現你的錯誤 In other words, they are spelling mistakes, but the spelling mistake is based on a grammatical 換句話說,他們是拼寫錯誤,但拼寫錯誤是因為 mistake that you have misunderstood something in English. 你的文法觀念有錯 Okay? 了解嗎? But I'm here to explain it to you, so no worries. 我在這裡會解釋給你聽,所以不用擔心 Here we go. 現在開始 Number one: "Your late", "Y-o-u-r" or "You're late". 第一個:「你遲到了」,"Y-o-u-r" 或 "You're" late Now you see, they sound the same, but this one is written "y-o-u-'-r-e". 你看,它們唸起來是一樣的,但是這個是寫成 "y-o-u -'- r-e" Have you seen this mistake on the internet? 你在網路上看過這種錯誤嗎? I see it all the time, but not by you I hope. 我經常看到,希望那個人不是你 So, what's the right answer here? 那麼,正確的答案是什麼? The first one: "Your late", "Y-o-u-r" or the second one? 第一種寫法 "Your late", "Y-o-u-r" 或第二種寫法,哪個是對的? Okay? 懂嗎? So, the correct one is this. 正確答案是這個 This is the correct one, this is wrong. 這個是正確的,這個是錯的 Why? 為什麼? Okay? 知道嗎? "You're late" like this is what? 這樣寫 "You're late" 是什麼意思? "You are", it's a contraction or short form of "You are", and the other one: "Y-o-u-r" "You are",是 "You are" 的縮寫或簡寫,而另一個寫法:"Y-o-u-r" is a possessive form of "You". 則是 "You" 的所有格 It means this is your book, this is your brother, etc. 意味這是你的書,這是你的兄弟,等等 Okay? 了解嗎? So "You are late." 所以 "You are late." is what you wanted there. 才是正確的 Second one: "Who's that?", "W-h-o-'-s" or: "Whose that?", "W-h-o-s-e"? 第二個: "Who's that?",應該用 "W-h-o-'-s" 或:"Whose that?" 的 "W-h-o-s-e" ? Which is correct? 哪一個才對? Well, this one is correct, and this is wrong 這個是對的,而這個是錯的 because: "Who's that?" is short for: "Who is", "Who is that?" 因為: "Who's that?" 是 "Who is" 的簡寫, "Who is that?" Again, it's a contraction or a short form. Right? 再說一次,這是一種縮寫或簡寫的形式。好嗎? And this one: "Whose" is a possessive word to ask: "Who does this belong to?" 而這種寫法:"Whose" 是 who 的所有格,意思是問:「這是誰的?」 Okay? 懂嗎? That's not what you want to say here. 這裡要的不是這個字 Number three: "It's time to go." or "Its time to go." 第三個:"It's time to go." 或 "Its time to go." Again, remember they sound exactly the same, they are what are called homonyms, but don't 再說一次,請記住它們發音完全一樣,它們就是所謂的同音異義字 worry about that. 但不用擔心 You need to know how to spell, so is it like this or like this? 你需要知道如何拼寫,所以它是這樣寫或還是這樣寫? Well, this is correct, this is not. 這個是正確的,這個是錯的 This is, again, a contraction for: "It is", right? 這是,重複一次, "It is"的縮寫形式 "It is time to go. It's time to go." 「該走了、該走了。」 This "Its" with no apostrophe is the possessive form of "It", it shows that something belongs 這個 "Its" 沒有撇號的是 "it" 的所有格,表示某些東西 to it. 屬於它 All right? 懂嗎? That's not what you want to use here. 不是用在這裡的 Next "There here", "Their here", or "They're here". 下一個 "There here", "Their here", 或 "They're here" Again, they sound the same, but what's the correct spelling? 它們發音近似,但是哪一個寫法才是正確的? Which word do you really want? 哪一個才是你要的? So, we want this one. 我們要的是這個 "They are here." Okay? 「他們在這裡」 It's a contraction. 這是縮寫 This one: "There" is the opposite of "Here", and "T-h-e-i-r", "Their" is the possessive 這ㄧ個:「那裡」是「這裡」的相反,而 "T-h-e-i-r", "Their" 是 "They" 的所有格 form of "They", it means something belongs to them, and that's not what you want in this example. 意味著某些東西屬於他們,並不適用這個例子中 The last one here is: "Did you lose this?" or "Did you loose this?" 最後一個 "Did you lose this?" 或 "Did you loose this?" Now, some people don't pronounce it correctly so they end up sounding the same, they actually 有些人的發音不正確,會使得它們聽起來一樣 pronounce differently, and spell differently, and the meaning is completely different. 實際上它們發音不同,拼寫不同,意思完全不同 Okay? 懂嗎? So "Did you lose this?" or "Did you loose this?" 所以 "Did you lose this?" 或 "Did you loose this?" Which is the right one? 哪一個是對的? This is correct, and this is wrong. 這個是對的,而這個是錯的 The first one "lose" is a verb because that's 第一個 "lose" 是動詞 it means... 因為它意味著 Okay, like something is lost, you lost it. 像是有東西遺失了,你丟了它 You lose something. 你弄丟了東西 And "loose" means not tight, like: "His pants were very loose", not tight. 而 "loose" 意味著不緊,像是:「他的褲子很寬鬆」,不緊 So, these are the first five, these are mistakes that you can make in writing, and if you made 以上是前五個,這些是你在書寫上可能會發生的錯誤,如果你犯了其中的 any of them don't worry. 任一個錯誤,不用擔心 As I said, afterwards I'll tell you where you can go to watch a video on whichever one 正如我說的,影片最後我會告訴你,在哪裡可以看到與你的錯誤有關的教學影片 you got wrong because I've recorded lessons on each of these. 因為我已經把每一題都錄製了教學影片 Okay? 懂嗎? Let's go to the second part. 讓我們繼續下面的題目 Now, let's look at five mistakes that people sometimes make while speaking. 現在,讓我們看一下,大家有時候在講話時犯的五個錯誤 Okay? 好嗎? Number six: "You speak English good." 第六個: "You speak English good." or "You speak English well." 還是 "You speak English well." Which is correct? 哪個是對的? Do you know? 你知道嗎? Well, the answer is this, this is the correct one: "You speak English well", because "well" 答案是這個,這是正確的:"You speak English well",因為 "well" is an adverb. 是一個副詞 It describes how you speak: "You speak well." 它描述了你如何說話:「你說得很好」 And "good", in this case is wrong, because "good" is an adjective. 而 "good",用在這裡是錯誤的,因為 "good" 是一個形容詞 So, for example, you could say: "You speak good English" because then "good" describes English. 例如,你可以說:"You speak good English" ,因為“good”是用來形容 "English" All right? 懂嗎? Next one, number seven: "He's doing his homework." or "He's making his homework". 下一個,第七個: "He's doing his homework.", 還是 "He's making his homework" "do" and "make", so many, many expressions with "do" and "make". "do" 和 "make" 經常出現在句子中 How do you decide? 你如何決定用哪一個? Well, let's see if you know this one first, then I'll tell you how you decide. 讓我們先看看你這一題是否答對了,然後我再告訴你如何決定 "He's doing his homework.", "He's making his homework." "He's doing his homework."、"He's making his homework." Which one is right? 哪一個是對的? This one is correct: "He's doing his homework." 這個才對: "He's doing his homework." And it is wrong to say: "He's making his homework." 不可以說:"He's making his homework." just because it's wrong. 因為這種說法是錯的 Now, the way to know whether to say "do" or "make", there is some explanation that tries 要知道何時該說 "do" 或 "make" 的方法,是有一些解釋可以幫助你理解 to help you understand, but I think it's very difficult for you to think through it every time. 但我認為還是無法讓你徹底的學會使用 I think in this case you do have to learn a lot of the expressions by heart, and one 我認為在這種情況下,你必須用心去體會如何運用 way you can do that is to look at one of the resources that I've written on my engVid channel, 其中一個方式,是去看我在 engVid 頻道的教學 which actually has a long list of expressions with "do" and "make", but I'll tell you again 那裏有很多用 "do" 和 "make" 的例句,在那裡我會再教你 how to get to that. 如何學會運用這兩個字 Number eight: "I'll see you at 6:30." or "I'll see you on 6:30." or "I'll see you in 6:30." 第八個:"I'll see you at 6:30." 或 "I'll see you on 6:30." 還是 "I'll see you in 6:30." Is it: "at 6:30", "on 6:30", "in 6:30", which is it? 是: "at 6:30", "on 6:30", "in 6:30", 哪一個才是對的? Those little prepositions. 這些很簡單的介係詞 So important. 非常重要 Which one is it? 哪一個是對的? "I'll see you at 6:30", "I'll see you at 6:30" 才是對的 not "on", not "in", okay? "at" is used with very specific times, 不是 "on",不是 "in",懂嗎?“at”是用在某個特定時間點 like: 6:00, 6:30, midnight, and so on. 例如:6 點,6 點 30 分,午夜等 "on" is used with one day or one date, and "in" is used for anything more than one day “on”是用在某一天或某一個日子,“in”是用在時間超過一天或 or one date. 超過一個日子 Really very important because these little prepositions pop up everywhere when we're 真的非常重要,因為當我們說話時,這些簡單的介系詞 speaking, right? 隨時會出現,對嗎? Okay. 好 Number nine: "He and I are getting married." 第九個: "He and I are getting married." or "Him and I are getting married." 還是 "Him and I are getting married." Which one is right? 哪個是對的? I just want to tell you that if you make this mistake it's a really bad mistake. 我只想說,如果這個搞錯了,你就犯了一個很糟糕的錯誤 So... 所以‧‧‧ They're all bad, this is very bad. 這種錯誤很糟糕,非常糟糕 So, which is correct? 那麼,哪一個才是對的? This is correct. 這個才對 This is wrong. 這個是錯的 Because "He" is a subject pronoun, and "Him" is an object pronoun, and if you don't know 因為 "He" 是一個主格代名詞,而 "Him" 是一個受格代名詞,如果你不知道 the difference between a subject pronoun and an object pronoun, then you should really 主格代名詞和受格代名詞之間的區別,那麼你應該 follow this by looking at the... 仔細去看..... Watching the video which I have which explains this in more detail. 我的教學影片,在那裡我有詳細的解釋 Each of the lessons that we have actually explains these points in much more detail 我們的每一部教學影片,對相關的問題都有比這裡 than I'm going into here. 更詳細的解說 Okay? 懂嗎? Number 10: "He has a cool car." 第十個:"He has a cool car." or "He's having a cool car." 還是 "He's having a cool car." Sounds like could be, right? 似乎兩個都有可能,對吧? Is there a difference? 兩個有差異嗎? Yes, we should say: 有的,我們應該說 "He has a cool car." 他有一部很酷的車子 We cannot say in correct English: "He's having a cool car." 在正確的英文裡不能說:"He's having a cool car." Because "have", "have" is a... 因為 "have" , "have" 是一個 What is called in English a stative verb. 英文裡所謂的狀態動詞 It describes a state. 它描述了一種狀態 And so we can't normally use "have" to talk about something that you own, and there's 而通常 "have" 當「有、擁有」時,是不能用進行時式的 a lot of details that you need to understand when you're using stative verbs, of which 使用狀態動詞時,有很多細節需要了解 "have" is one example. "have" 就是其中一個例子 Now, did you make any mistakes here? 你在這裡犯了任何錯誤嗎? Did you make any of these 10 mistakes? 你有犯這 10 個錯誤中的任何一個嗎?
