Now you've probably heard already that YouTubers are complaining because their views are dropping...

Now I know you're thinking "Oh PewDiePie, he already made enough money, now he dares complain about this"

But this is not just about me, it's about smaller, and larger, channels that are being affected,

但這不只是關係到我，因為不管是規模大或小的頻道，同樣都受到影響

And the direction it's heading is very concerning for the future of this platform.

不分你我他，都非常擔憂這個平臺的未來

People won't believe me if I say I really don't care about views and making more money .

如果我說我真的不在乎點閱率多寡和賺更多的錢，人們大概不會願意相信我

I care about reaching my audience and that the videos that I am working on, the people who are subscribed to me can actually see them.

我關心的是吸引觀眾來看我的影片、正在製作的影片，以及我能真正看到那些訂閱我頻道的人

I really truly care about that more.

I want to be clear that technically overall views are not being affected,

it's just on the newer uploads since about a month ago.

I feel a huge responsibility to make this video because not everyone has a voice on YouTube.

我覺得我負有重責大任來做這部影片，畢竟不是每個人都願意在YouTube上表露他們的心聲

I know people might think, "I don't really care, this does not affect me, YouTubers are already making enough money."

我知道有些人可能會想「這對我又沒差，跟我無關，YouTubers不是錢都賺飽飽了嗎」

But it's still peoples' livelihood at stake.

但它對某些人維持生計，卻會是充滿變數的

I think if this continues, it's gonna kill a lot of channels.

我覺得如果這樣的情況再繼續發生，它會害死很多頻道

And trust me, I am fine. I'll be fine, but there are smaller channels that are just barely getting by.

All of a sudden 40% of their views are getting cut out.

and they can't keep making a living on YouTube which I think is really sad, and really stupid, and a mistake.

It's extremely frustrating not being able to reach your audience when my latest videos are being record low.

Out of nowhere...

And then you ask YouTube, "Hey what is the problem here? Something's clearly changed."

And they're basically saying, "No, we didn't change anything, there's been no algorithm change, it's you."

他們基本上會這樣回你「沒有啊，我們沒有動什麼手腳，計算方式也沒有錯，是你自己的問題吧」

and then I'm like, well it's not just me, it's so many YouTubers talking about this.

然後我就心想，呃，又不是只有我這樣，其他YouTubers也有同樣問題啊

JackSepticEye, the nicest person on the platform, he wouldn't be complaining about this just because he wants to complain.

Now the thing is YouTube had a rough year.

重點來了，YouTube也發現自己在這一年狂被批評

YouTubers noticed that complaining about YouTube gets you views.

不少YouTubers注意到，抱怨YouTube會減少你的影片觀看次數

It's a topic that people like to know about, so I think people complain probably more than they should've.

因為這是一個大家會想了解的議題，所以抱怨聲浪也會意想不到的多

and I realize now that there is actual consequence to that,

而我現在也意識到它實際的後果，

because now that there is an actual really important issue,

因為就現在來說，這真的是一個非常重要的議題

YouTube is kinda closing an eye to it thinking, "Well, they're just conspiring against us again, it's just one of those things."

YouTube大概又要開始鴕鳥心態，幻想「這不過又是YouTubers再一次要聯合起來反抗我們，這又沒什麼大不了的」

It's very concerning that they are not taking this seriously.

他們這樣不認真看待事情，真的很令人擔憂

Now there's been so much confusion on what the problem is.

現在你們可能會對這樣的問題充滿許多疑惑

No one seems to know... I think I know what it is, so I am gonna try to explain it.

因為好像沒什麼人了解，但我知道整件事的來龍去脈，所以我要開始來解釋

On YouTube you hear a lot of times about subscribing.

在YouTube的世界，你應該很常聽到「訂閱」這兩個字

"Please subscribe to my channel, PewDiePie has 50 million."

「請訂閱我的頻道，屁弟派有5000多萬訂閱人數喔」

But YouTube has really been moving away from a subscription type based viewing experience for a long time.

但YouTube對基於訂閱類型，所推薦其他相關影片的收看體驗，早就已經遠離了好長一段時間

They want you to watch other videos as well.

因為他們也希望你觀看其他影片

So basically what they replace it with... is... let me show you.

所以基本上，他們會用... 來取代，我來弄給你們看

If you subscribe to someone and you watch their content, their videos will show up as recommended,

如果你訂閱某人，然後他們看他們的內容，他們的影片就會出現在「推薦影片區」

or, in the suggested thing... suggestion majigger,

或出現在「即將播放區」，但其實有時候根本毫無關聯

Now, most creators...

I'm gonna use the word creator, I don't know what the f*** to call it, f***ing YouTubers.

我現在都改講creator這個字，我現在已經不想再講你他媽的什麼YouTubers

Most people on the platform get half of their views from these two things.

大多數人在這個平臺上，從這兩個地方獲取到一半的影片觀看次數

This doesn't matter if you're a small channel, or a big channel, okay?

這跟你頻道是不是很多人訂閱完全無關，好嗎?

So, just to show an example on some statistics.

Here you see that I get 30% of my views from suggested videos.

你看到這邊，我有30%的影片觀看次數都來自推薦影片

That is not counting Browse Featured, which is home page, which is 53%.

這不算在瀏覽功能的53%裡面，也就是在頻道首頁當中瀏覽，

Let's just ignore that for now, let's just focus on suggested.

我們先忽略那個東西，就先注意推薦影片這個點就好

Because I know this is a lot to take in, okay?

因為我知道那要花滿多時間來理解的

Now, suggested views, I get 30% of my views from.

現在呢，我從推薦影片的地方，獲得30%的影片觀看次數

That's what I noticed got cut off.

這也正好是我注意到觀看次數有被砍掉的地方

I noticed my views are dropping roughly that amount.

因為我注意到，我影片的觀看次數開始有所下滑

Now if you check an old video,

現在，如果你看我舊一點的影片

oh look, I got 60% of my views from suggested videos.

哦，你看，我就從推薦影片獲取約60%的觀看次數

This one is 62%.

這個還高達62%呢

This one is 63%.

These were videos that were uploaded in October.

Now something 100% happened in November, alright?

Because all of a sudden we've got suggested videos... 0.7%.

因為突然間，從推薦影片獲取的觀看次數比例只剩下0.7%

What...?

是在跟我開玩笑嗎?

And it's not just one video.

而且還不止一部影片這樣

Look at this one... 0.2%.

你看這個更慘，只有0.2%

Now this is a video that I didn't make, it was an animator, Jae, who worked on this for like a month,

你現在看到的這部影片不是我做的，是一位叫Jae的動畫家，他花了1個月的時間把它完成

and we share the ad revenue.

and since this did so poorly compared to the other one.

所以就在注意到這部影片的觀看次數，和另外一部相比少的可憐的時候

So, seeing this, I'm like, what the f*** is going on.

看到這裡，我不禁心裡大罵「你他媽現在到底是想怎樣?」

This is so clear that it is a problem, but YouTube is saying,

這很明顯就是一個問題，但YouTube卻這樣回覆我們

"But Felix, it's not a problem because look, your suggest views are still 30%,

「可是Felix，我們確認過後沒問題啊，因為你看，你這部影片的推薦影片來源比例還是30%啊

even if you close in on the last 14 days, look.

就算你再把時間拉到最近14天來看，你看

Suggested videos, 32%, they went up! You should be thanking us!"

推薦影片來源比例變32%了，還上升了呢，你應該要感謝我們才對吧!」

So from now on, I am just going to put theories out there. Just, let that be clear.

所以從現在開始，我也無從再跟他們爭辯什麼了，了解嗎，我們先講好

But, it's suggesting older videos.

可是重點來了，它所謂的推薦，卻是舊的影片

It's something I noticed at least.

起碼我自己有發現到這件事

If you click on one of my newer videos, it is essentially suggesting ancient f***ing videos.

如果你點擊我任一部新影片，基本上，它竟然就推薦我他媽的不知多久以前的影片

Like videos I did 6 months ago...

像我6個月以前上傳的影片...

Which, you know what, it's a good idea,

其實老實講，這主意是不錯

but you can't completely cut out the new ones putting them at 0.2%.

但你也不能把我新影片的外部流量觀看次數比例砍到剩0.2%

Now what I think has happened is that these old videos have already qualified to be as suggested videos,

我覺得這樣的情況會發生，是因為這些舊影片已被認定為是值得推薦的影片

but now, you need to qualify to show up as suggested videos,

但現在，如果要說須具備什麼資格，才能讓你的影片變成推薦影片

and what will qualify is essentially videos with really high click through rate.

最重要的一點特質，就是你的影片必須要有很高的點閱次數

Like videos that people really want to click on really fast,

好比說那些大家很想趕快點進去看的影片

and if you upload on a daily schedule, you're not gonna get that.

但如果你每天固定上傳影片的話，這樣的事情就不會發生在你身上

Maybe if you upload weekly, you're not gonna get affected by this at all.

如果你改成每個禮拜才上傳影片，或許你就比較不會被影響到

Where are all the views then?

所以那些觀看次數到底跑哪裡去了?

Maybe if you haven't made it this far in the video, but you probably think,

Gets a lot of clicks, keeps getting suggested.

所以點擊數就越來越多，也就因而成為推薦影片

I've seen porn show up in the suggested feed, which is just insane.

我還看過A片就直接出現在「為你推薦」，這真的是太過荒謬

How is that possible? Look, I'm watching gameplay.

這怎麼可能? 你看，我在看電玩遊戲的影片

Gameplay, gameplay, gameplay, gameplay, PORN!

電玩、電玩、電玩、電玩、A片!

F***ing porn!

我耖你媽的鳥A片

Look at this s***, 18+.

你看看這些狗屎，還18禁勒?

What the hell is happening to YouTube.

你他媽的到底是怎麼了，YouTube?

This f***ing s***, like 10 million views.

這什麼他媽的狗屎影片(92%的人都找不到哪裡不一樣)，竟然還超過1000萬的觀看次數

Bee movie memes, which you know, I can support but the rest just seems a bit like,

蜂電影，這我還可以理解，但其它那些影片...

is this really the content that we want on this website.

是我們希望它們真的出現在網站上的內容嗎?

So it seems like it's more focused on viral videos, somehow.

所以不知道為什麼，這些像病毒般瘋狂流傳的爆紅影片會變成所謂值得推薦的影片

You need a really really strong video for it to show up.

你真的需要一部非常厲害的影片，才能變成推薦影片

And it shows because I did the "I'm gonna delete me channel video."

而在我做「我要刪除掉頻道裡的影片」之後，這真的證明了這件事

Which really did really well, and way more than I ever expected.

觀看次數真的衝得很高，甚至遠比我預期的來得好

It's like going from 0 to 100, I just want to find a middle ground, you know?

這就好像突然從地獄升到天堂，但我只是想找到中間地帶，你懂嗎?

Now, I've spoken to YouTube and they've acknowledged that this is a problem, and it is weird

我現在已經跟YouTube講過這樣的情況，他們也承認這是個問題，也覺得

how this has changed.

They won't say if they did this intentionally or not,

I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt that this is just a glitch.

and hopefully they work on fixing this as soon as possible, and that is why I am making this video; to strenthen that

I really don't want to spread false rumors and I don't want people to get riled up,

There are more issues as well with subscription disappearing,

but I think this is the main important one to focus on right now.

I appreciate that YouTube is working on this and trying to fix this.

我很感謝YouTube現在已著手處理這樣的問題，並修正改善

because it doesn't only affect me, it affects everyone on YouTube.

因為它不只影響到我，它也影響著YouTube上每一個人

I honestly thought YouTube was about what content the majority want to watch.

我原本認為YouTube是一個大眾能自由選擇想看的影片內容的平臺

but, it seems like it's becoming less and less of that.

但現在這樣的情況，看起來早已不是如此

It's not about who you want to watch, it's about who's gonna yell the loudest.

你無法決定你想看到誰，而是叫喊聲最高的影片才是王道

If this is all intentional and YouTube is focusing away from Creator based content and less personality based,

如果YouTube在全世界都一樣，越來越偏離以創作者製作內容及個人選擇作為影片推薦基準的話

well then don't be surprised if personality starts leaving YouTube.

到時候有越來越多人離開YouTube這個平臺，也不用覺得太驚訝
