To humans

對人類而言

I am simply just there.

我單純就在那裡

I’m something they just take for granted.

我的存在被他們視為理所當然

But there is only so much of me.

但我是有限的

And more and more of them every single day.

而他們每一天都在增加

I start as rain in the mountains.

我的人生始於落在山間的雨

Flow to the rivers and streams.

流入小河小溪

And end up in the ocean.

最後流入大海

Then the cycle begins again.

然後我又再一次經歷這個循環

And it will take me 10,000 years to get back to the state I am in now.

需要再經過十萬年，我才能再一次回到現在的狀態

But to humans?

但對人類來說呢？

I’m just water.

我只是水

Just there.

就在那裡

Where will humans find me when there are billions more of them around?

當世上的人類超過十億人之後，他們會在哪裡找到我呢？

Where will they find themselves?

他們會在哪裡找到自己呢？

Will they wage wars over me?

他們會為了支配我而發動戰爭嗎？

Like they do over everything else?

如同他們支配任何事物那樣？

That’s always an option.

他們可以選擇那樣

But it’s not the only option.

但，那不是唯一的選擇
