I mean I've roommates of course, but ever since college started, I haven't lived with my parents.

當然我還是有其他的室友，但自從開始上大學之後，我就沒有跟父母住在一起了。

Like, I actually haven't even seen them in over half a year now, which is kind of crazy.

實際上我已經超過半年沒有和他們見面了，想想還真是有點瘋狂。

But honestly, living on my own has been pretty fucking awesome.

但是說實在的，自己獨立生活實在是太爽了。

I mean of course I still miss my parents you know... Um... I guess.

我是說我當然還是會想念我的父母啦... 呃... 大概。

Without my parents around, I've been able to do a lot more things that I couldn't before.

但是沒有父母在身邊之後，我可以做一堆以前沒辦法做的事情。

My mom and dad aren't here anymore to tell me what I can and can't do.

老爸老媽再也不會在旁邊跟我說什麼能做，什麼不能做了。

So if I ever want to sit around, watch movies, and do nothing all day, there's no one to tell me I can't.

只要我想，我可以呆坐在原地，看看電影，整天什麼也不做也不會有人來煩我。

If I want to come home really late at night, I can because there's no one can tell me when to come home.

如果我想很晚才回家也沒關係，因為沒有人能告訴我該什麼時候回去。

And if I meet a girl and want to bring her over, I can because I don't have to worry about my parent—aw fuck it who am I kidding, I still can't get a girl to even come over in the first place.

如果我遇見一位想要邀請回家的女孩，我也可以直接把她帶回家，不用擔心父母會－唉我在自欺欺人什麼呢，我連把人家邀請回家都辦不到了。

Living on my own has some challenges though.

不過自己住也伴隨著一些新的挑戰。

For example, I had to learn how to cook, which I found out I actually really enjoy doing. I have a lot of fun making new dishes and trying out different things.

舉例來說，我得學會自己煮飯，而我發現自己其實挺享受做飯的。我很喜歡創作新的料理，並做出新的嘗試。

Not gonna lie, I'd have to say you know I'm pretty good.

老王賣瓜一下，我得說我的手藝真的挺棒的。

And by that I mean I haven't burned down my apartment yet so, yeah that's pretty good.

我的意思是我目前為止還沒把公寓給燒了所以，對，還算不錯吧。

Since I live in LA and Uber everywhere, I don't have a car.

因為我住在洛杉磯而且習慣去哪都搭 Uber，所以我沒有車。

I have all my groceries delivered to me which is actually way easier and super convenient for me.

我都用送貨到府的方式買日用雜貨，對我來說輕鬆且方便得多。

Now you're probably thinking, "Wow you have them delivered to you? You lazy piece of fucking shit!"

你可能會心想：「蛤你竟然要人家送到門前？你這懶惰的廢物！」

Woah woah woah, first off, true.

等等等等，首先，你說的沒錯。

But somehow it's cheaper for me to have it delivered so, why not?

但其實直接讓他們送貨到我家還比較便宜，所以有什麼理由不這麼做呢？

Becoming closer to adulthood has also meant paying bills, which sucks because that means less money that I can spend on going out to eat, going to the movies, strip clubs—you know, whatever!

更靠近大人的生活也意味著要自己付帳單，而這真是糟透了，因為這代表著我能夠用來出去吃飯、去看電影和脫衣舞廳－你懂的，在各式各樣的活動上所能花的錢變少了！

This is probably gonna sound lame, but I really like to figure out how to handle my money.

聽起來可能有點遜，但我真的很喜歡控管自己該怎麼花錢。

Like learning how to budget, and how to invest. I even trade stocks every week so I can save up for my future.

像是學習如何管理預算和如何投資等等。我甚至每個星期還會投資股票，為我的未來生活儲蓄。

I know that sounds really fucking boring, but I like it.

我知道這聽起來肯定無聊到爆，但我就是喜歡這麼做。

I think that overall living with my parents had a ton of advantages, but at the same time, a lot of restrictions.

我覺得跟父母一起住確實有著超多的好處，但同時也有著一堆限制。

My parents care about me and love me a lot which I am very thankful for.

我的父母很在乎我也很愛我。我很感激這點。

But like I'm sure all of you know sometimes what they think is best for you, isn't actually.

但我想你們也很清楚，有時父母心裡的「都是為你好」，和實際有點差距。

I think a lot of parents unintentionally set expectations for their kids to be a certain way.

我想很多父母在不經意間對自己的子女設下了心目中理想的期望。

Living on my own, and having the freedom to do what I want has made me a happier person.

自己搬出來住之後，我有了能夠自己做想做的事的自由，而這讓我變得更加快樂。

Like I said, I haven't seen my parents in a really long time, but I'm okay with that.

就如我之前提到的，我已經很久沒見過我的父母了，但我覺得這樣也沒什麼不好。

Not that they’re bad people—my parents are great. It's just... Maybe I’m just an asshole, who knows.

不是說他們都是壞人－我的父母人都很好。只是... 或許只是因為我是個渾球吧，誰知道呢。

Ever since I've moved to a bigger city, I've been able to travel, experience different cultures, and just be independent.

自從我搬到大城市之後，我便能夠到處旅行、體會不同的文化，成為了一個更獨立的人。

I'm always anxious to see what my future might be, but for now, I'm loving life.

我總是急於想看到自己的未來會是什麼樣子，但是就目前來說，我很享受當今的生活。

I can genuinely say that I've never been this happy.

我可以很老實地說，我從未如此快樂過。

A lot of that has to do with your guys' support, and I do not thank you guys enough for that.
