  • The ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi wrote:

  • knowing others is intelligence

  • knowing yourself is true wisdom

  • mastering others is strength

  • mastering yourself is true power.

  • So many people focus on other people’s body language and try to

  • read between the lines in order to find out what they really mean.

  • And they try to use psychological techniques and neurolingustic

  • programming to influence other people.

  • and all of that is well and fine it’s good because if you want to make a dent in the universe

  • if you want to make the world a better place if you want to help other people

  • you need to have some means to influence them

  • But if you want to be all you can be

  • if you make a change then you really need to start with the man in the mirror

  • And to take that inner journey can be frightening because you will lose your

  • illusions about yourself and you will discover things about yourself you wish you wouldn’t know.

  • But it will also set you free and give you greater power

  • because the monsters that hide inside your soul have greater power when you can’t see them

  • and the courage and nobility inside yourself are useless if you can’t find find them.

  • so remind yourself

  • every once in awhile

  • of that ancient quote by the chinese philosopher Lao Tzu

  • Knowing others is intelligence,

  • knowing yourself is true wisdom.

  • mastering others is strength,

  • mastering yourself is true power.
