- Overwatch?

There's a whole lot of people; jeez Louise.

- All these different characters; I don't recognize one.

- I actually don't know what this game is yet.

But yesterday, I was at Fry's.

And I was with my friend.

He's a big gamer.

I was like, "Oh, you play CS:GO, like, whatever?"

He's like, "No, right now I'm playing Overwatch."

I'm like, "Oh, that's cool.

I don't know what that is, but explain more to me, right?"

And guess what. I'm playing it.

- I watched DashieXP play it.

And it looks really fun.

- I played the beta, and I've been wanting to play it again.

- Heck, yeah! I love this game!

You shouldn't play if you have an addictive personality,

'cause you won't stop playing this game. It's so fun.

- (Derek) Overwatch is an online team-based first-person shooter,

with both sides made up of various heroes,

each with their own special abilities. - Okay.

I've never done an online video game.

- I mainly only play shooters.

I play with people all the time.

- (Derek) We're gonna have you play a few matches of Overwatch

and let you try out some of these characters.

- That's awesome.

This is gonna be fun.

- Okay. I'm about to get rekt.

- (Derek) Today you're playing Control.

In this game mode, your team will need to gain 100% control

of a point on the map to win a round.

You'll play multiple rounds. Best two of three wins.

- Okay.

I'm a little nervous.

- (Derek) You'll be playing an escort mission.

- Got it.

- (Derek) And in this one,

you're gonna be trying to capture or defend a control point.

- Okay.

- (Derek) If captured, the defending team

will try to prevent a vehicle from reaching the end goal,

while the attacking team tries to get the vehicle there

before the time is up. - Okay.

This is my favorite map.

- (Derek) Go ahead and pick a hero.

- Okay, I'm gonna just hit this chick.

'Cause she has cool wings.

- Zarya.

She looks badass, and she's got cool hair.

- Widowmaker.

She looks cool, so I'm gonna pick her.

- Reinhardt's the best. Everyone knows that.

A huge freakin' hammer. He's just so cool looking.

- I pick Genji, 'cause he's a baller. He's like the best.

♪ (heroic theme) ♪

Okay, let's go.

- Left-click [inaudible].

The fight, right. Okay. Left-click.

- (woman) Don't get comfy now. - Defend.

- Oh, we're attacking, so we're gonna go to that--

Like, we have to basically stay in that area and take it over.

- Okay, so to capture-- oh jeez, where are we going?

I'm following you guys.

Ah-ha. Where'd you go?

- (Athena) One. Attackers incoming. - Shoot.

- (Athena) Defend objective A.

- I hope there's a lot of lives in this game,

because I die pretty quickly.

Okay, my entire team is over there. I'm gonna run towards them.

- (Symmetra) You are unworthy of the true reality.

(gunfire and grunting)

- How do I go back? Okay.

Wow.

(Widowmaker groans) I died.

Again, a couple shots.

There's a lot of stuff going on. It's pretty hectic.

(in game: groaning)

- Okay. Getting a little overwhelmed here.

- Where am I defending?

I am not defending right now. I am running around.

(rapid firing) And I'm getting shot at. I need to run.

(sighs) First death.

- Okay, I-- (mumbles)

I'm stunned.

And I was eliminated by MonkeyRajah.

- Oh, we have a Reinhardt.

Oh, dang, he's probably gonna try to pin me.

We're gonna go out here.

Oh, here he is. Oh, I see. He tries to pin me.

I'm gonna pin him.

Get pinned, son. Get pinned.

I'm so not used to the mouse and keyboard,

okay, but I got Reinhardt.

(reverberating gunfire)

- Ooh, boy. This is fun.

- Aah, god.

Can I help you? I think I helped him.

- Team play is pretty important,

'cause if you don't like working with your team,

then you're just gonna lose. And that's no fun.

- All right, let's get over here.

And now we're gonna capture.

- I like how different each character is.

Definitely next time,

I'm gonna try to get a character with a gun

so I don't have to run up on someone.

- (Athena) Move attack. - Wait, how close are they?

Okay. You know what? Gotta go hardcore.

- So we're capturing-- we're capturing.

But see, I'm getting cornered here from all sides.

- I don't know who I was looking for though.

- (Athena) First round won. - (gasps)

Okay, we secured the point one out of three.

Okay, round two.

- You know, I would have-- I would have clutched that.

But it was all right. I blame my team.

You lose, always blame your team.

(in game: overlapping speech)

- Okay, now we're gonna escort the payload.

- Oh, you can change your person mid-game? That's cool.

I'm gonna pick him. (woman speaks indistinctly)

Okay. (warbling)

He looks cool.

- (Athena) Round two: capture your...

- I'm gonna go in there with my other one.

- (sighs) So now we're gonna escort this payload,

and they're gonna try to stop us.

And I'm gonna use my huge shield

to stop them from stopping us.

I should go in the front more.

- "Contested." There's a person coming at me.

I'm gonna shoot them. Where'd they go?

(blasting and groaning)

Oh, I was eliminated.

- Come on. Come on.

Oh, I got him. Okay. (in game: beeping)

I should probably play the objective a little bit.

Oh, I should play Reaper.

(device beeps, character groans)

Okay, I gotta-- gotta capture this point.

I think I did a pretty good job so far.

(ding) Okay, got the point.

Go here.

(Mercy grunts) Come on, Mercy.

(characters grunt)

Oh.

Oh, okay. I got her.

- I feel like I'm attached to this character now.

I know what I'm doing.

And now I got to go save everybody.

- All right, let's keep it going.

- Oh my gosh.

I instantly died.

(woman grunts) - (man) Fire in the...

- Okay. Since we're defending, I'm gonna pick...

the big knight guy, 'cause I know he has a shield.

This guy.

- What's the superpower thing that used to, like-- um, it's cute.

- It says 99% at the bottom. I'm guessing it's health.

- (Derek) That's actually your ultimate ability.

- That's my Q. Oh my gosh.

Right now.

(Zarya speaking Russian)

(blasting)

Am I killing him?

I was still eliminated! Even with my Q.

- I'm gonna wait till they rush as a crowd.

And then I'm gonna get that highlight kill.

Oh, oh, right here. Let's go.

Oh. Aw, he did the high noon.

Oh, dang it. I didn't realize. - (McCree) High noon.

- See, that's an OP ability. I never played this guy.

Er, like, I did. But I didn't like him.

(heavy gunfire)

- Aw, damn. I'm being shot.

Damn it! (bangs table)

Damn it. This is hard. It's really chaotic.

- I'm gonna use my shock wave thing right here. Okay.

Okay, so we reached the checkpoint.

So basically, we're almost there.

When you reach the checkpoint,

you got an extended amount of time, which is good.

- I think we're gonna win. This is a really easy game.

- They're about to-- they're whooping our butts right now.

And...

Oh, they already jacked it basically.

We all kinda just kinda lost.

Maybe it's all our first times playing this game.

- And they I get-- oh, we failed.

Damn. That sucks.

- I'm really following this girl,

because I don't know what the heck I'm doing.

Q-S-S.

- (Athena) Victory! ♪ (heroic music) ♪

- I won!

That was fun. Look how boss I look.

- Okay, we're gonna win. - (Winston) We're doing great, team.

- This game is, like, everywhere at once.

Woo! - (Athena) Victory!

- Good job, team.

- This team's really good.

I mean, we're getting there fairly quickly.

There we go! Hey, we won. Pretty good team.

- (Athena) Round two won.

- Okay. We won... the round.

Now we gotta do it again.

- (Derek) And now you're switching to Assault,

where you're trying to capture

or defend certain points on the map.

- Okay. I'm still gonna go with this dude right here.

The Reaper. He just looks really cool.

Two guns. Not even one.

- (Derek) You're still playing the same game type.

But this time, you're gonna be switching sides.

- Okay, I'm ready. This is fun.

- (Derek) Two rounds, the game is tied.

Are you ready for round three?

- Okay, I think we can do round three. I got this.

- Think I'm gonna switch... which is H? Yeah, H.

Uh... you know what? I'm gonna go with Reaper.

Sometimes I do well with him.

- So if we're attacking, then I should get an attacker.

This guy looks cool.

I like his ninja star thing. That's pretty dope.

- I'm in an airport now.

- (Athena) Three, two, one. - It's like The Hunger Games

with the countdown. Heh. - (Athena) Round three.

Capture the objective.

- So right now, instead of attacking,

we're gonna be defending. So we're gonna--

We don't want them to take over that area.

- I am going straight for the attack.

- (Mercy) Enemy seen.

- I don't see anyone in my way.

- I like getting kills.

You know, 'cause the objective-- who needs to do that?

Even the other lame people do that.

- I don't really go after people.

I kinda just hold my ground here and kinda wait for them.

'Cause they have to be in this box, this red box,

to take it over.

- Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.

(beeping) Oh my gosh.

Oh my gosh. (chortles)

Oh my gosh. (in game: pained groans)

I was doing okay. I was in the objective area.

But there's-- oh my gosh, I'm back to life.

Thank you. - (man) Nice.

(scattered groans)

Oh, I think one of my teammates rees-- agh-- resurrected me.

- Oh, you're on my team. Sorry.

- (man) Easy. - Nope, nope, you're on my team.

- (Reaper) From the shadows.

(alternating gunshots)

- You thought you were clever.

- I'm just puffing my inhaler or whatever this yellow thing is.

I just wanna chain someone. - (man) Thanks, McCree.

- I'm such a big target too. Wow.
