So, you have two people and one is speaking a lot and the other person is listening and listening and listening, okay? And they're speaking for so long, but maybe the listener is getting bored or has other plans. So, they take off their head and put it on the table and they can walk away. Okay, so the person talked their head off. Yeah, okay. So, let's listen to some examples as we have this picture in our head. What happened? You’re 30 minutes late! I’m sorry. My neighbor caught me as I was leaving and she talked my head off about how her son got accepted into college! Okay, so his neighbor was telling him all of this stuff about her son getting accepted to college and the she was talking and talking and talking and he wanted to take his head off and leave, but he couldn't. She talked his head off. Yeah, she talked too much. Alright, let's listen to the other example. Did you have fun at the wedding? No! The man who gave the speech was talking our heads off. I think we were all bored! Alright, so the man giving the speech talked their heads off. Okay, so to 'talk my head off' or 'talk your head off' means to talk a lot, too much, yeah, dragging on, to give an earful. Yeah, too much and you don't want to listen anymore. It's getting annoying, okay? So, you can talk my head off, talk her head off, talk their heads off. Okay, you can use it for any situation like that when someone is talking too much. But, it's not very polite, so if someone is speaking too much, maybe it's a little too direct to tell them, 'You're talking my head off.' Maybe it's okay to your best friend or something, but generally it's used about someone else. Yeah, my sister talked my head off yesterday on the phone. I was on the phone for 2 hours, yeah.
