Our story begins across the ocean in a place called England.

我們的故事從大洋彼岸一個叫英格蘭的地方開始。

There were people called the Pilgrims who wanted to pray in their own way.

But, oh no, the king didn't like that.

The king demanded that all people pray just like him.

You will pray my way.

The Pilgrims were not happy.

They wanted freedom.

So, one Pilgrim got an idea.

The Pilgrims were excited.

They packed up clothes, tools, seeds to plant, and maybe a few toys for the kids, then waved goodbye to their friends and family.

And then they were off, across the wide ocean on the Mayflower.

But the sea was wild, tossing the ship around like a toy boat.

Waves splashed everywhere, and everyone got soaked and seasick.

The food was pretty boring, too.

But after weeks at sea, everyone was tired and hungry.

But the Pilgrims never gave up hope, and finally, after 66 days, they landed on Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts.

The weather was freezing!

The Pilgrims had no idea how to find food or stay warm.

Then they met the Native Americans, the first people of this land.

The Pilgrims and Native Americans were curious about each other, but a little cautious, too.

Slowly, they started sharing smiles, gifts, and stories.

The Native Americans were amazing teachers.

This one is safe to eat.

They showed the Pilgrims how to build cozy homes, track food...

Pay attention to the direction.

When fall came, the Pilgrims had a huge harvest.

Corn, pumpkins, and berries.

To celebrate, the Pilgrims invited their new friends to a big feast.

為了慶祝，朝聖者們邀請他們的新朋友參加了一場盛大的宴會。

They shared their food, their stories...

It was a time of joy, laughter, and giving thanks for all they had.

And that's how Thanksgiving began.
