As I always do in this kind of video, I’ll be showing you techniques to help you organize your ideas so that you can talk about your plans for your weekend in English.

So, first, we need vocabulary, we need activities.

I will show you some: visit my family, meet friends, go out with friends, go to the park,

go to a party, travel to the countryside or travel to the beach, have dinner with friends,

So, guys, these are some popular activities that you can do on the weekend.

Now we need to organize these ideas and make them into sentences.

Let’s think about the weekend.

On the weekend we are usually free on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

在週末，通常我們在星期五晚上、星期六和星期天有空。

Well, in most countries; in some countries, Sunday is considered a business day.

So in general, people are usually free on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

So, when you are talking about your plans, your weekend plans, it's interesting to mention the days, okay?

Let’s build one example, Friday night – go to the movies.

Oh, one thing. If it’s already Friday night and you are going to tell someone about your plans, you don’t need to say on Friday night, you can say "tonight", ok?

But only if it is the night that you are going out already, ok?

Now, that we have the activities, let’s build our sentences, shall we?

So, suppose someone comes to you and asks, "Hey, what are you doing this weekend?"

I’m going to the movies tonight.

On Saturday morning, I’m going to the gym and in the afternoon, I’m meeting my friends.

On Saturday night, I’m going to a birthday party.

星期六晚上，我要去參加一個生日派對。

On Sunday, I’m staying home. I need to do the laundry and I want to watch TV.

When we are making plans in the future, and these events, these future events are near future events, they are going to happen very soon, we can use the present continuous to talk about it.

當我們為未來計劃，並且這些事件是即將發生的近期事件，我們可以使用現在進行式。

"I am meeting my friends."

「我要和朋友見面。」

"I am going to the movies."

「我要去看電影。」

"I am visiting a friend tonight."

But if you paid attention, when I was giving you the sentences, I didn’t use "present continuous" all the time.

但如果你有注意聽會發現，我在這些例子中並沒有一直使用「現在進行式」。

I used simple present too.

我也使用了「現在簡單式」。

On Sunday, for example, I said I’m staying home. Ok, my future plan.

例如在星期日，我說我會待在家裡。這是我的未來計劃。

And then I continued: "I need to do the laundry." Here I’m saying the sentence in the simple present. It is almost an explanation for why I’m staying home.

然後我繼續說：「我需要洗衣服。」在這裡我用了「現在簡單式」。解釋我為什麼待在家裡。

It is a complement to explain why I am staying home, because I have plans, I have to do the laundry so I’m staying home because of that.

I am giving more details to my plans.

我正在提供更多關於我的計劃的細節。

I’m staying home because I need to do the laundry, because I need to do homework, and I want to watch TV.

So you can make a combination of present continuous and simple present to talk about your plans, you give your plan and then you explain it a little bit.

所以你可以結合「現在進行式」和「現在簡單式」來談論你的計劃，你先陳述你的計劃，然後再稍微解釋一下。

You give more details to your plans.

你對你的計劃提供更多細節。

Let’s see another possibility.

I’m traveling to the countryside this weekend. I want to stay with my family.

這個週末我要去鄉下旅行，我想和家人待在一起。

We are having a barbecue on Saturday.

我們在星期六要辦一個烤肉派對。

I’m going back home on Sunday afternoon.

我星期日下午要回家。

In this case, I am talking about a trip to the countryside on Saturday on the weekend and then I give a little bit more information.

在這種情況下，我正在談論週末的星期六去鄉下的旅行，然後我再提供一些更多的資訊。

I am traveling to the countryside because I want to stay with my family.

我要去鄉下旅行，因為我想和家人待在一起。

I wanna visit my family, so here it is in the simple present because I am giving a complement to my plan which is to travel to the countryside.

我想要拜訪我的家人，所以這裡使用了「現在簡單式」，因為我正在對我的計劃提供一個補充說明。

Then I continue and I say that I’m having, we are having, my family and I are having a barbecue on Saturday afternoon, another plan.

I don’t give more details about it.

我沒有提供更多關於這個計劃的細節。

After that I finish and say that I’m going back to wherever I am going, I’m going back on Sunday afternoon.

There you go.

This is a basic way to talk about your weekend plans.

這是一種基本的談論週末計劃的方式。

I gave you some vocabulary and I gave you some structures, some structure ideas to help you organize your ideas, to help you put them together.

I showed you that we can use present continuous to talk about future plans, when these future plans are very near, they are going to happen very soon, ok.

But I also told you that if you wanna support your plans, explain a little bit more, you can even use simple present, not problems.
