  • These are some awesome spots to take

  • kids in Yokohama

  • [Intro Music]

  • So this one is going to be a fun one

  • Today I'm doing something a little bit

  • different and I'm taking Wolfy along

  • maybe it's going to be one of those take

  • your kids to work days

  • Basically I'm going to cruise around with Wolfy today

  • take you around Yokohama and show you

  • some of the cool spots to take your kids

  • But like always before I start if you

  • want to see what I'm doing on the daily

  • check out my Instagram account if you

  • want to help support the channel check

  • out the Japan merch and if you have any

  • questions about Japan or your Japan

  • travels check out my discord community

  • All right let's do this

  • Okay so this is gonna be an all-day event so you can

  • probably consider this a day in my life

  • or maybe not either way we're having fun

  • today for this one we've decided to

  • spend it in Yokohama primarily because

  • it has so many more kid-friendly

  • activities in close proximity compared to Tokyo

  • It'll make getting around a lot easier

  • No.1 - HAPIP LAND in ASOBUILD

  • Here's our first spot

  • An entertainment mall called ASOBUILD

  • which is directly connected from the

  • southeast exit path or a two-minute walk

  • from the east exit of Yokohama station

  • Fun fact this building was originally

  • part of the Yokohama central post office

  • building and has since been renovated

  • into this fun place where people of all ages can enjoy

  • Hapipi Land, the place we're going first

  • is located on the fourth floor

  • It's basically a huge

  • indoor playground with a cute colorful space theme

  • Just like Japanese houses you've got to

  • take your shoes off before you go inside

  • I wonder if that's the same in other countries

  • [Music]

  • There's so many different sections for

  • kids to play like the trampoline disco area

  • where you can dance at the music

  • a giant ball pit, a music zone where you can play instruments

  • a cute little library cave with both Japanese and foreign books

  • A maze tarzan rope foam pit, a train area

  • a little baby play area and even a loop

  • of padded slides

  • which even Wolfy loved so much

  • I couldn't get him to leave and

  • we had to extend our time

  • since there are so many options from the athletic gym to

  • musical instruments is perfect for

  • families with multiple kids or playdates

  • [Music]

  • This place is great. It has an awesome

  • ball pit and all these like little

  • things that Wolfy can do I think it's

  • like quite fun in general for kids

  • Oh and there's a restaurant area on the

  • first floor with a very strong Izakaya

  • drinking yokocho alle vibe so not as

  • suitable for super young kids but maybe

  • for the parent wanting to get a little

  • tipsy in between ball pit dives

  • This is perfect. All joking aside at the moment

  • due to covid many of the restaurants are

  • closed but should be promising when they

  • fully open back up

  • [Music]

  • No.2 Keikyu Museum

  • All right so we are about to go into the Keikyu Museum

  • we're going to see all sorts of trains

  • You ready you want to go ?

  • Wolfy : Go !!

  • Okay

  • This is a Train Bus Museum created by

  • Keikyu one of the largest public

  • transportation companies in Japan

  • It's located on the first floor of their

  • company headquarters in the Minato Mirai 21 area

  • The best part is that it's free

  • and you know I love free

  • Right when you go inside

  • You're greeted by Keikyu's Deha 236 train

  • And a life-size replica train platform from the 70's

  • It's pretty cool

  • to see the rebuilt train in person

  • You can even go inside the train sit on the

  • seats and check out the history exhibition

  • The museum also has a train simulator

  • It costs 500 yen just under 5$ to drive the train

  • But you do need to make a reservation online

  • or if you don't make one

  • You can just simply enjoy the passenger section

  • To be honest, I didn't

  • plan ahead and make reservations so

  • Wolfy and I just played with the

  • standing passenger handles

  • The highlight for Wolfy though was for sure the bus

  • simulator as he's completely in love

  • with the wheels on the bus right now

  • Luckily this attraction didn't need a reservation

  • and Wolfy could honk the

  • horn and press all the buttons to his heart's content

  • Just look at how much fun he's having

  • This is pretty cool this is a real deal

  • bus setup the only thing is that you

  • know you're not actually on the road but

  • it is pretty spot on to what a real bus

  • would be like some of the buttons

  • actually work um like this stop button

  • If you're into model trains it also has

  • a huge train and bus diorama with a 12

  • meter long roadway it's pretty cool to

  • see how much detail was put into it

  • Wolfy liked it alright but he would

  • have loved it a bit more if daddy would

  • have let him pick up the trains passing by

  • Finally it's a good spot to pick up

  • some Japanese train and bus goods for your kids

  • It's rather difficult to find

  • such a section even online

  • No.3 Anpanman Children's Museum

  • You want to see Anpanman ?

  • Wolfy : Appa

  • Wolfy : Appa

  • Wolfy : Appa

  • This spot is a brilliantly convenient

  • three minute walk from the Keikyu museum on Shin-Takashima street

  • Many kids overseas may not understand the gravity

  • of anpanman for Japanese kids

  • But it rivals Disney's Mickey Mouse or any

  • other ultra popular figure

  • This is a Japanese kid's dream theme park

  • But to be fair Wolfy doesn't even watch

  • Anpanman on TV but rather sees Anpanman

  • toys here and there and I guess that's

  • enough for him to have a blast at this place

  • The first floor is a mall dedicated to anpanman

  • You can buy anpanman products, play at the anpanman

  • arcade hit up the anpanman photo booth

  • and it even has an anpanman food court

  • plus dedicated restaurant

  • wow

  • also I should mention that Maiko

  • really loved the shop

  • The variety of products here was amazing

  • They literally had everything you could think of from

  • snacks to a butt wipe case

  • a lot of stuff you would have trouble finding online

  • They also had an embroidery shop

  • so you can put your kids name on bags and clothes

  • Curry or Rice ?

  • so we're here at the food court it looks

  • like it has like a moderate selection of food

  • What's nice is that it always has

  • food for kids you can get like little

  • rice bowls udon tempura

  • we actually got for Wolfy curry rice

  • and then I just got a hamburger so

  • [Music]

  • he has been going all through his curry

  • rice here apparently he's like a lot as

  • you can see you can see right here the

  • burger is not so bad either just like a

  • regular cheeseburger hey wait for me

  • wait for me

  • I also ordered the Baby Castella for Wolfy

  • But he wanted to play with them instead

  • as a parent I'm always happy to

  • find his imagination even if it's food

  • Wolfy : Appa

  • Wolfy : Appa

  • so I wanted to take a quick break and

  • give a shout out to our sponsor for this video

  • SQUARESPACE if you all don't

  • already know squarespace is the number

  • one way to build your online presence in

  • fact I use squarespace for my website tokyo

  • zebra here are just some of the reasons

  • why I love using squarespace so much

  • Now let's move on to the second and third floor

  • You do need to purchase

  • tickets online though in advance since

  • the restriction gets entry due to COVID at the moment

  • all you have to do is show

  • the email with QR code at the front and

  • you're in

  • [Music]

  • so here they've got a playground area

  • where kids can jump around and have all

  • sorts of fun

  • and Wolfy especially liked this slope area

  • [Music]

  • and the main highlight was the show

  • I completely underestimated it

  • Wolfy loves dancing these days and he got

  • super super super excited

  • even after the show finished

  • he couldn't stop dancing

  • [Music]

  • next to it there's a little town area

  • where the kids can visit the characters houses

  • Here kids can be little farmers

  • and cook things up in cabal's kitchen

  • [Music]

  • This is pretty crazy there's just so much anpanman

  • stuff to do here you can go over there

  • and there's like slides and this room

  • here has like little place where you can

  • press buttons and he loves pressing

  • button there's even like a kitchen over

  • there so there's like quite a lot of

  • stuff to do there's even kind of like a

  • show that they have and he really loves that

  • come on we are gona ride in the

  • Maiko : It's so far

  • [Music]

  • No.4 Yokohama Air Cabin

  • The air cabin connects Sakuragichō station and

  • unga park which is where world porters

  • and the Yokohama red brick warehouse are located

  • It's actually walking distance

  • between points but it's nice to see the

  • view from up high especially if you're

  • visiting for the first time

  • This is nice this I want to say gondola

  • they call it an air cabin it's uh been

  • around for about a year now

  • I think it was last year and maybe March or April

  • it's a it's pretty cool because it's

  • just you can see that it's fairly new

  • So its not like one of those like old worn

  • places like everything is still like

  • pretty brand new

  • but probably not a lot of tourists

  • this hasn't gotten a lot of use compared

  • to what they would have thought

  • Wolfy, Look !!

  • We are going sky high !!

  • Yeah !!

  • A Boat, Look a boat

  • we gone on at sunset time so we got to

  • see the night view at the end

  • Whcih is always amazing in Yokohama

  • right by the water you don't necessarily need to be

  • inside of the air cabin at this time but

  • maybe staying until the sun goes down is a good idea

  • At the end of the day Wolfy sure did love the view

  • I know because at the end of the ride he said

  • wait for it

  • Wolfy : one more

  • one more ?

  • You want to ride it again ?

  • Wolfy : One more

  • all in all it's a perfect way to end our day in Yokohama

  • all right so that concludes the video

  • that's what you could do if you go to

  • Yokohama and you want to spend some time
