Is everyone ready? Let's begin. Hello everyone! Today's idiom is: just about. Just about. Can you imagine the meaning of this idiom? Well, let's imagine you're at a darts board, okay? And you're throwing darts at the bull's eye, but you can't quite hit the bull's eye. Maybe almost hitting, here, here, here, you're just about hitting the bull's eye, but not quite, almost. Alright, so let's listen to 2 examples and think about the meaning of this idiom. The first example is: Hey, we are supposed to meet Sally in 5 minutes. Are you done with work? Yup, just about. Okay, so maybe she's not finished, but almost finished, just about. Okay, the second example is: Hey, are we supposed to meet Sally in 5 minutes? Well, it’s just about finished raining, so I think we’ll be fine. Okay, so just about finished raining means maybe it's still raining a little, but almost stopped. So, just about means almost, the same meaning. Alright, and you can use it with 'just about finished', 'just about ready', those kind of things work well. So, let's try to use it in a situation where you're almost finished or maybe your friend calls you, 'Are you ready to come to the movie?' 'Just about. I'm putting on my shoes.' Okay, so let's try to use 'just about' in your next conversation. That's all for today, see you next time!
