There are several verbs related to making a suggestion or offering advice.

有幾個動詞與提出建議或提供意見有關。

Let's talk about three of them today.

Advise, suggest and recommend.

諮詢、建議和推薦。

These verbs are close in meaning, but there are some differences.

這些動詞的意思很接近，但也有一些區別。

Advise is the most formal of the three and is used when someone with authority makes a suggestion.

建議是三者中最正式的，當有權威的人提出建議時使用。

It could come from a government official, for example, or a supervisor, doctor, teacher or someone else.

比如說，它可能來自政府官員，也可能來自上司、醫生、老師或其他人。

Here's an example.

這裡有一個例子。

Experts advise limiting use of digital media before bed recommend is less formal than advise.

專家建議睡前限制使用數字媒體建議不如建議來得正式。

It is used when someone offers a suggestion based on his or her personal experience.

當有人根據自己的親身經歷提出建議時使用。

Friends, family and colleagues, for instance, can recommend things to each other.

Here's an example.

Can you recommend a good eye doctor in the area?

I need to get my eyes checked.

Suggest is the least formal of the three verbs it is used in.

Suggest是它的三個動詞中最不正式的一個。

Many situations toe offer an idea, opinion or possible plan of action like this.

很多情況下，提供一個想法，意見或可能的行動計劃，像這樣。

I suggest we do the hardest tasks first, then the rest will be easy.

我建議我們先做最難的任務，然後剩下的就容易了。

Note also that the verb suggest can be used in place of recommend when it means that something is good or deserves to be chosen like this, my friend suggested an eye doctor not too far from here.

還要注意的是，當表示某件事情是好的或值得選擇的時候，可以用動詞 suggest 來代替 recommend，像這樣，我的朋友建議在離這裡不遠的地方找一個眼科醫生。
