  • So if you've been feeling stuck in your career and you have been wondering, is this the right path for me and my on the wrong path?

  • What do I do next?

  • Then, like I said.

  • Today's video is for you.

  • I wanna walk you through four key tips that you need thio process and think about in order to decide whether this really is the wrong path for you and what you should be doing about it.

  • Next tip number one is to get raw and real with yourself.

  • What I mean here is you need to be completely honest with yourself and you need to ask yourself, Why is this the wrong job for me?

  • In order to know what's going on, you need to proactively gain clarity.

  • So you need to ask yourself, Is it the job duties?

  • Is it my work environment?

  • Is it the people that I'm working with?

  • Is it the structure of my workday?

  • What is it that is truly bugging me, bothering me, annoying me, irritating me about this job that I'm in.

  • So, for example, if it's the job duties, the things that you're doing, the task that you're doing on a day to day basis that air really annoying you, that air frustrating you that you don't enjoy, then it means you need to be doing different kind of work.

  • You need to be doing different types of tasks, and that means you need to be able to find a different job that encompasses the task that you would actually enjoy.

  • On the other hand, if it's the people that are really annoying you and it's not the job itself, then you need to ask yourself, Am I OK to put up with these individuals?

  • Are there different ways for me to deal with these individuals that I can overcome this feeling that I have?

  • Or do I really need to leave this company altogether so that I can get away from these toxic individuals?

  • By the way, if you wanna learn about how to deal with toxic individuals, I have a video on that as well.

  • The link will be down below that you can also look into, and another reason could be the structure of your work day.

  • If you're not enjoying the 9 to 5, especially now that we're all having toe work from home for the most part, If you're not enjoying 9 to 5 and you really want to be able to work your own flexible hours, then perhaps you're not meant to work a corporate job, and maybe that means that you should be a freelancer or you should start your own business or be some sort of consultant.

  • So you need to start thinking about that, If that is what is truly bugging you.

  • I know.

  • For me, For example, when I was working a corporate job, I did not enjoy the 9 to 5.

  • And I knew that I wanted Thio do something where I could schedule my own hours and I could work fewer hours than a full 9 to 5 every single day.

  • And I was able to do that by starting my own business.

  • So you want to reflect about those things for yourself and ask yourself if this is the type of structure that you want to have every day.

  • Tip number two is to see, feel and taste your ideal job, work or career.

  • This is where you utilize the power of visualization.

  • So the power visualization means that you're going to visualize what your ideal job, your ideal day looks like in a career that you truly would enjoy.

  • So you want to start thinking about what it is that you're gonna be doing.

  • What is your job title?

  • Even if you don't really know exactly the job title, but you kind of want to get in idea for what that would be.

  • And you just want to start visualizing for yourself how you would feel every single day if you were doing the type of work that you're imagining for yourself.

  • So, for example, the hours do you see yourself working a strict 9 to 5 type of job?

  • Or do you see yourself being more flexible, being able to schedule your own hours or when it comes to the people?

  • Do you see yourself working with a huge team, or do you see yourself working mostly alone?

  • You want to think about all these different aspects when it comes to visualizing your ideal job.

  • And if this ideal job that you're visualizing for yourself is very drastically different from the job that you currently have, then that is a clue that perhaps the path that you're on right now isn't the right path for you, and that it's time for you to switch over into the path that you want to go into.

  • Tip number three.

  • Start scoping.

  • So now that you have a bit of an idea as to the type of job that you would like to dio.

  • And if you know that it is different from the job that you currently have, then it's time for you to start poking around and looking to see what jobs, what opportunities are there out there that would be much more aligned to what it is that you want to dio.

  • That means going on job boards like indeed dot com or linked in jobs to find different positions that are closely aligned to the position that you want.

  • Now, if you plan to apply for these jobs, you definitely want to make sure that you have a very strong, attractive resume and that you'll prepare yourself for the interviews well before the interviews happen.

  • If you feel that you are on the wrong path with your current career is to start exploring what else you could be doing.

  • What else is out there?

  • Because then that gives you hope That gives you the sense of enthusiasm and excitement that you need in order to get yourself back on track so that you could be heading in the direction that you do want to go.

  • And finally, tip number four is to have an end game.

  • So you want to have an end date in mind for when you plan to quit?

  • Now that you've realized if you've realized that you're in the wrong job, Okay.

  • So that's what I had to dio.

  • I had to recognize what month what week I could quit because I knew that I had certain payments that still had to come in bonuses and things like that that I was still owed.

  • And I wanted to make sure I received all of that before I left.

  • So you want to settle up everything you want to plan everything out and no, in your mind.

  • What date you plan to quit?

  • What date you plan to hand in your resignation letter.

  • So when you have an end game and end date in mind, It just motivates you even further to do all the things that you need to do to get yourself out of the situation that you're in and into a job, a career path that is more aligned to you.

  • So there you have it.
