JACOB SOBOROFF: And Justin Timberlake's taxes. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IMPERSONATOR: (SINGING) I'm one of a kind. MALE SPEAKER 2: It's going to be a lot of fun. JACOB SOBOROFF: Last week, Simon Ostrovsky whose VICE News' correspondence in Ukraine was captured and detained by pro-Russian militants in Slaviansk. Yesterday, after three days of blindfolds, interrogations, and beatings, Simon recounted the details of his captivity and release. SIMON OSTROVSKY: When we got to the final checkpoint, which was literally maybe 300, 400 yards away from our hotel, a man pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket with my face on it, shined the light on my face, showed it to his friends. His face lit up and he's like, I got him. I got him. This is him. JACOB SOBOROFF: Simon's been covering the Russian invasion of Crimea since the beginning of March, and Separatists in Ukraine were becoming unhappy with the depth of his investigation. SIMON OSTROVSKY: And they were kicking me and punching me in the ribs and hitting me on the head and on the ears with open palms which is pretty painful and shocking and creates like this effect of a photo flash on your brain. JACOB SOBOROFF: Simon's back safely in New York. And yesterday in an appearance on the "Today Show" he said he wants to go back to Ukraine to continue reporting. We've got VICE'S playlist of all 31 of Simon's harrowing dispatches for you right after the show. EARNEST: Most of us know that Hank Green as a man of science. But he's also a man of music. I wonder what would happen if you were to combine the two. This ode to science is from Hank's upcoming album "Incongruent," which will be released on his own DFTBA imprint. [ALTERNATIVE ROCK MUSIC "I F***ING LOVE SCIENCE] EARNEST: If you love science and Hank, you're in luck because he's going on tour this summer. You can find more details on his channel. JACOB SOBOROFF: Since today's World Wish Day here is one of the most heartwarming make a wish stories we've ever heard. ATTICUS'S FATHER: I got a call that he had gotten hit in the belly with the soccer ball. I thought no big deal. But they said he was in a lot of pain. Went to the emergency room. One of the doctors told us that he had a pretty large tumor. JACOB SOBOROFF: Following the operation, Atticus had to miss his final soccer game. A year later, he wished for the chance to finish the season with this whole team and the Portland Timbers. MALE SPEAKER 3: And this is the marquee they put out, just like it was a regular Timbers game. When I showed up that morning to set up, there was hundreds of people in line already. ATTICUS: I was only expecting about 600. JACOB SOBOROFF: And then what did you see? ATTICUS: 3,000 and 12. JACOB SOBOROFF: Not only did Atticus get to play against his favorite team and win, he's been healthy for over a year now. LIZZIE: It takes most artists months to record and distribute an album. But last week, Jack White did it in under four hours. [ROCK MUSIC BY JACK WHITE] LIZZIE: For Record Store Day, Jack performed two songs, pressed an album, sold it and broke the world record. JACK WHITE: As soon as they're done, we're going to rush them back the first back which is going to be-- I don't know-- like 100 copies or something. Hey that was easy. Right? LIZZIE: The whole shebang took months of planning. But it's still didn't quite go off without a hitch. Due to a stereo malfunction, they actually had to cut the whole thing in mono. His full album drops June 10. And if this is any indication, it's going to be awesome. BRUCE REZNICK: Nobody in history, in my opinion-- unless they can show me different-- has blocked more foul shots than I. JACOB SOBOROFF: This guy is Bruce Reznick. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. He also happens to be the Nets' secret sixth man. Bruce believes that by using is whammy technique he can make opposing players miss free throws. That can be the difference between winning and losing a game. BRUCE REZNICK: You gotta miss. You gotta miss. Miss. Miss! Miss. What! If the team comes in and misses a free throw, that's my point. JACOB SOBOROFF: Nets and Raptors face up in game five tomorrow. Unfortunately it's in Toronto so Mr. Whammy is going have to do his thing from the couch. Ow. That's dangerous. This is the part of the show where you guys tell us what to watch. ERIC SCHWARTZ: Hey. (SINGING) YoutubeNation I'm a huge Justin Timberlake fan. And I happen to sound and look exactly like him. This episode is how Justin do taxes. Because they're ain't nothing certain in life except death, taxes, and Justin Timberlake is awesome. (SINGING) I go to the office in my suit and tie. Walked through the door, the receptionist died. Did a sold out show for Uncle Sam. And when I was done nobody had on pants. No pants if you wanna dance. Freaky. No pants if you wanna. Freaky. Freaky. JACOB SOBOROFF: Thanks, Eric. You guys, this is the second in an ongoing series. He's taking suggestions, so let him know what you want to see Justin do next. This Saturday our show is all about the creepiest videos. [CREEPY SINGING MUSIC] Ugh. You guys got any other videos guaranteed to haunt my dreams? If so, post a link in the comments.
