  • Hello there, my name is Richard McMunn from the interview training company PassMyInterview.com,

  • and in this tutorial I will teach you how to pass a Tesco interview. So it does not

  • matter which role you are being interviewed for with Tesco, please do make sure you stick

  • around and watch this training tutorial from beginning to end, because I promise to give

  • you some great interview questions and answers and more importantly, help you to be the STANDOUT

  • CANDIDATE! And to achieve that goal, this is what I will cover: I'm going to give you

  • tips for passing your Tesco interview. I will give you sample Tesco interview questions

  • suggested answers to those Tesco interview questions. I will tell you the qualities the

  • interviewer is looking for. And I will also tell you 3 great questions to ask at the end

  • of your Tesco interview. There are five great reasons why you should watch this from beginning

  • to end. Now, before I get into the training, a very quick, warm welcome to this Tesco interview

  • training tutorial. My name is Richard McMunn. That's me there in the centre of the screen.

  • I've been helping people for 20 years now to pass their interviews. And I always do

  • that by giving you top scoring answers. Please do make sure you SUBSCRIBE by clicking the

  • red button below the video, and then you won't miss out on any of the weekly training videos

  • I'm uploading. And I would also very much appreciate your support if you gave the video

  • a LIKEthat tells me you enjoy the content and I'll create more for you. Thank you. OK.

  • The first Tesco interview question we need to prepare for is, tell me about yourself?

  • So the easiest way to answer this Tesco interview question is to tell the interviewer the skills

  • and qualities you have that are relevant to the role. Here is my strong suggested answer.

  • “I am a positive, friendly and professional person who enjoys working with others as part

  • of a team. I am also a fast learner, I am flexible and can work the hours needed, and

  • I would always make sure the work I carry out is to the high standards expected by Tesco.

  • I can also be relied upon to follow the necessary safety rules and regulations that form part

  • of the job. I have experience of working hard, being committed to my job and also ensuring

  • the people I am serving get the best possible levels of customer service attainable. I have

  • read the job advert for this Tesco role, and I feel confident I have the necessary skills,

  • qualities and attributes to perform to the necessary standards.” That is a brilliant

  • answer! It gets you off on the right footing for the remainder of your interview. You can

  • either pause the video if you want to and write that down, or if you wait, I will tell

  • you where you can download my full set of Tesco interview questions and top scoring

  • answers. The second question we need to prepare for is, why do you want to work for Tesco?

  • This will come up pretty much early on during your interview. So in your answer, show the

  • interviewer you have carried out some research into Tesco, especially in regard to their

  • customer service standards and values. Here is my suggested answer. “I have shopped

  • in Tesco many times before, and it is clear you always strive to provide great service

  • and exceptional value. I want to work for Tesco for a number of reasons. The first reason

  • is, I feel this is somewhere I can enjoy being at work, working alongside other like-minded

  • professionals. The second reason is, I want to do a job where I get to make a difference

  • to people's daily lives. The company values I read on your website are impressive and

  • I feel I will be treated well here and respected by others. Finally Tesco has a strong reputation

  • within the local community, and on that basis, I would feel proud to be a member of the Tesco

  • team.” So there's a number of really good reasons why you want to work for Tesco, and

  • it shows you've looked into them and also you respect them as a local employer. The

  • next question I want you to prepare for is, how would you deal with a dissatisfied customer

  • in one of our Tesco stores? Now, when answering questions that relate to customer complaints

  • or dissatisfaction, always be professional and follow your training. If you're ever unsure

  • of how to deal with a situation like this, always ask for help. Here is my suggested

  • answer. “I would want to resolve it for them, so I would start off by apologising

  • if necessary, before asking them questions to find out what had happened to cause the

  • dissatisfaction or complaint. Whilst the customer was talking, I would listen to them carefully

  • and ask any probing questions to delve further if needed. I would then try and come up with

  • a resolution to their complaint, and I would always make sure I followed my training and

  • the guidance Tesco has in regard to customer complaints. Finally, if I was ever unsure

  • of what to do, I would ask my supervisor or team leader for help.” That is a concise

  • response that shows you are following a logical process for resolving customer complaints.

  • I still have some questions to go through, so please don't go anywhere. But when you're

  • ready, if you CLICK THAT LINK in the top right hand corner of the video, it will take you

  • through to my website, PassMyInterview.com, where you can download my full set of Tesco

  • interview questions and top scoring answers in PDF format. Next question. What are your

  • strengths and weaknesses? The easiest way to answer this tough interview question, is

  • to give them three strengths that match the job description, and then one weakness that

  • is not a match for the job description. Here's how to do it. “My strengths are my ability

  • to provide great levels of service to everyone, my willingness to be flexible and work extra

  • hours or shifts when needed, and also the fact I am a fast learner who picks things

  • up quickly. This means I can start contributing to the team in a relatively short space of

  • time. My weakness is, I find it hard asking for help from others. I like to figure things

  • out for myself, but I guess this slight stubbornness doesn't always work, because it would be

  • far quicker and easier to ask someone more experienced than me for help. I am working

  • to improve on my weakness though, and I am someone who likes to continually improve and

  • develop.” That's a good answer. It's safe in regard to the weakness you are giving.

  • And finally, you are saying I am always looking to improve and develop, which is important.

  • The next question for your Tesco interview is, what is good customer service? This feels

  • like a really easy question to answer. However, there is only one correct way of answering

  • it, and here it is. “Good customer service is all about providing attentive, positive

  • and timely service to everyone who comes into contact with Tesco. This includes when you

  • are dealing with customers face-to-face, and also when you are dealing with them by email

  • or by telephone. At all times, the standard of customer service should always be the same

  • for everyone. Good customer service is needed to ensure customers have a pleasurable and

  • memorable experience in store, as this then encourages them to return to the business

  • time and time again.” That's a really good answer! It shows that you understand what

  • good customer service is. It's to a high standard. It's consistent and the same for everyone.

  • Three questions to ask at the end of your Tesco interview. They're going to say to you:

  • Do you have any questions for us?” Here's what I would sayIf I'm successful, how

  • long will my training last for? How often do the goods in store change, for example,

  • are they seasonal? What could I do in this role to make sure Tesco continues to be successful?

  • There's three really good questions to ask. Don't forget, CLICK THAT LINK in the top right

  • hand corner of the website. It takes you through to here, my website PassMyInterview.com, where

  • I've got a number of Tesco interview questions and answers that you can download. You will

  • also get these slides when you do get a copy of these. And there's also five tips for passing

  • your Tesco interview, which I recommend you read and study. I hope you've enjoyed that.

  • Please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and hit the LIKE button. If you have any questions stick

  • them in the comments section below. Other than that, I wish you all the best for passing

  • your Tesco interview and have a brilliant day. Thank you for watching.
