Welcome to today’s Pronunciation Challenge! I am Mia. Smartphones, smart home devices, and self-driving cars, unlike what would call “future technology” in old movies, these things are our current life. While at some point, there are some terms like phone addiction that pop out and let people sit up and take notice. But you know what? That probably is just a myth. And now, it’s time for today’s sentence.

Sentence:
Casual use (of) the term "addiction" has a very real effect of potentially trivializing how we talk about addiction more broadly.

Pronunciation Tips:
1. casual: (1) Three parts: ca-su-al /ˈkæʒ.u.əl/ (2) æ: Tongue low in mouth. Mouth shape is like smiling (3) ʒ: Voiced. Teeth come together. Mouth shape is like the pronunciation of /ʃ/.
