1. safe
我相信大家都知道 safe 的意思是「安全的」，但是今天要教大家的是本日句子中的用法 it is safe to say (that)，that 可加可不加，這句的意思是「可以肯定的說」，所以這裡的 safe 解釋為「保險的，有把握的」。

The word ‘safe’ has various meanings. Most people know one of its meanings which is ‘not in danger of being harmed’, but in today’s sentence, safe means ‘not involving any risk and very likely to be successful’. Its common usage is ‘it is safe to say (that)’, meaning ‘you’re certain’. Let’s see the example below.

It is safe to say that Tom will be late again this time. He’s never been on time!
我很肯定 Tom 這次又要遲到了，他從來沒準時過。

2. let down
let sb down 為片語，意思是「辜負(某人)，使(某人)失望」，不知道大家有沒有聽過一首歌叫做 Don’t let me down，中文直翻就是「別讓我失望」。另外可以注意的是 let 的動詞三態變化同形，為 let-let-let，例如：

Let sb down is a verb phrase referring ‘to fail to help or support somebody as they had hoped or expected’. Actually there’s a song using this phrase as the title named ‘Don’t let me down’. post-holiday blues 也可以稱作 post-holiday depression，意思是「連假症候群」，以 post-開頭的字有「在...之後」的意思， 所以 post-holiday 就是「假期之後」的意思，再補充一個以 post- 為字首的單字：postwar ，意思是「戰後的」。
大家也都對 blue 這個單字很熟悉吧！blue 當名詞意思是「藍色」，但是當它的字尾加上 s 後，意思就會是「憂鬱」，例如許多媽媽會有的「產後憂鬱」，英文就是「baby blues」，

The definition of the term post-holiday blues is ‘a general feeling of sadness and depression and hatred of all things work-related soon after a long holiday’. Post- as a prefix means ‘after/later’, for example, the word ‘post-war’ refers to ‘happening or existing after a war’.
Blue as a noun means ‘the colour of the sky or the sea on a fine day’. But if you put ‘s’ at the end of the word, blues refer to ‘the feeling of sadness’. For instance, the meaning of ‘baby blues’ is ‘a depressed feeling that some women get after the birth of a baby’.

People who suffer from post-holiday blues may experience fatigue as one of the symptoms.
