  • Professor Scott Smith: Engineering, is problem solving. At a deeper level, engineering would

  • be about understanding the laws of nature and using those laws to create solutions for

  • the betterment of humanity.

  • Narrator: Through its School of Environment, Science and Engineering, Southern Cross University

  • teaches undergraduate degrees in civil and mechanical engineering at its state-of-the-art

  • science and engineering precinct.

  • is we've got a strand that concentrates on environmental engineering, I think that's

  • going to be an interesting area for the future.

  • Professor Scott Smith: Engineering graduates are in very high demand. There's work locally,

  • there's also work nationally and there's work internationally. Certainly an engineering

  • degree is a very transferable degree that can be applied all around the world.

  • Corelle Foster: I get to work part-time while I'm studying and also during my vacation breaks

  • or in my study breaks can actually tack on a few extra days work. Working has been fantastic

  • with the learning, because everything I learn I get to put into practice and I also see

  • things that when I'm actually learning about them I can actually ask more in-depth questions

  • and get a deeper learning, which is great.
