  • so Yeah, it's J D in the bag myself.

  • Chuck in line.

  • I got my guy over here with spot.

  • Come on.

  • What's going on, Raph?

  • It's Goodman.

  • Everything's good.

  • Everything's Goodman.

  • Family is good.

  • I'm healthy.

  • And those blessings.

  • You walked in with some good energy, brother.

  • And you said, You know what?

  • You was like our because there's, like, a box of clothes, clothes and stuff like that.

  • You were kind of like rice Just getting used to all of that, like talking a little bit, because it is in it.

  • Like when you start now, people will know you.

  • And I just wanted you even have to pay for nothing anymore.

  • Yeah, it is different breath, You know, when people saw want to gift you.

  • You know, because I don't I don't come from that, you know?

  • I mean, I come from a really ah, humble background, you know, I mean, humble beginnings, type of thing.

  • So you know, when people start wantedto give you stuff for free, the first thing is, you know, a bit suspicious.

  • Yeah, hold on.

  • Like you know why?

  • What's the trade off?

  • Yeah, what am I gonna do?

  • Yeah, but you know I got self Well, Oh, yeah, Well, um, it's Coleman, you know, is obviously nice money as though it's different for me than it is for you.

  • But, like, I know that that's something I'm not gonna get too used to.

  • Ugo.

  • I'm saying people come in and just just giving me stuff because we probably came from a similar background in terms of upbringing and stuff where things were just tight to get even now see, like there's like, a lot of trainers and stuff that are coming out now.

  • I am lucky enoughto afford to buy things, so because I wasn't able to have them before When they say I'm going, I'm going extra heart toe, have them nothing.

  • After when I was you got me didn't have it before, but and, you know, like that's one of the others saw abuse about.

  • I guess when you come from, you know, so over humble background way you couldn't always have in.

  • Now, you know, when you're in a blessed enough position to be able to make a way to get yourself, you're gonna go hard, is normal.

  • So you you grew up in salt.

  • I grew up in Tottenham till I was about 11.

  • I wanna say ballpark.

  • And then I moved over toe move Hill prayers moves over that way.

  • Um, you know, because my brother, he had you got in tow Mill Hill.

  • Connie, you got into the school, and it's a really good school s.

  • Oh, yeah, my parents just moved on.

  • That made sense.

  • Yeah, for me to go to that school to Andi.

  • What?

  • No.

  • What was it like down there?

  • Uh, you know what?

  • Moving from Tottenham?

  • Two more.

  • Hill was a bit of a culture.

  • Shock is a culture shock, you know, because you go from so of a community where you know, all the kids also grew up with.

  • In primary school, we had similar sort of financial situation.

  • You know, there was a lot off one parent, so the house was a lot of my friends, you know, they only had one parent in the house, You know, you're usedto so go in home by yourself after school from primary school years let you walk home, and it's nothing, you know?

  • I mean, that was definitely It's normal, like, you know?

  • I mean, you get home, you make your own food like you sort yourself out until Mom and Dad gets back from work or whatever.

  • And then, you know, sort of I moved to Mill Hill, and then all of a sudden, you see, in order parents, they're picking the kids up from school every day.

  • Um, you know, I mean, like you just the little things like that, Like, kind of weird, you know?

  • What do you mean?

  • You're not working on yourself?

  • Your mom's dropping.

  • You jump in your you, Theo.

  • Things don't make sense.

  • Surely that's not normal, but, you know, like so it's available concert.

  • It was a bit weird.

  • You know, I caught in a little bit of trouble sometimes the school from time to time, Like on I think part out was just I was a bit a bit of me felt out of place.

  • Yeah, somewhat.

  • But, you know, like I learned a lot of, you know, a different group of friends.

  • It was cool.

  • Mom used it.

  • I think that it's so almost the same similar situation with me, actually, was that like I was going to school on my own a lot of time on, like coming back and stuff.

  • And it was the same of a lot of people in my in my school as well.

  • The difference was is that, like, where I felt a bit out of place at times was that I was like, the minority in terms off my butt where I was from was dominant, be white.

  • But it felt so I felt and be our place at times.

  • But I got used to that.

  • I mean, I know the fact that when I got to second you school, there was a large Asian community in my school and, you know, a lot of white people in my school.

  • Yeah, you know, it was so over.

  • Ah, a small number of black kids at Mill Hill.

  • So that was another thing.

  • You know, that you got that.

  • I sort of got used to worry.

  • You know, when I was in talking to me, you got kids from sort of everywhere a Lee backgrounds.

  • Yeah, we're going to school together, you know, because around there, a lot of time, it was sort of, you know, parents and moved from their home country, you know, to sort of try and make make a new way over here in the UK Your parents are Nigerians.

  • Have you Bean?

  • Did you ever go back when I went back?

  • And I haven't been back since I was five.

  • Okay, now that that's that's the only time I've been all for real.

  • So even now, you haven't been back since you might be planning.

  • I'm planning to go, mate.

  • Yeah, it's gonna be much.

  • You've got this October and December over.

  • You wanna go this year, so that's in the works.

  • I always feel that, like when you go back later in life, it's different energies that you kind of almost embrace and get because you can go when you're young and it's just kind of a thing that you just do You think your parents would take a But the thing is like, especially from those of us who are parents, you know?

  • So we're first generation in the UK type of thing.

  • Yeah.

  • What we know of our background is what we're taught for our parents on what would talk for art.

  • Uncles are over here to type of thing, but then to go back and to experience it for yourself.

  • I think that's a totally different.

  • It's a hole in a random woman, and it's a lot deeper because now you've ableto make your own opinions and form your own viewpoint of your you know, sort of your roots in your background, and you have a certain understanding, like a better understanding of certain things.

  • Ugo, I'm saying my dad, for example, telling me rock when he was in Jamaica, Jamaica, is that a lot?

  • When I was young, I stood right donkey and stuff like that.

  • If you're telling me that when I'm young, I'm not cool when I go back and I'm like seeing it and you'll see if you can imagine that's what I call a car Weightman.

  • I can't wait, really, because it is long over demon.

  • But, you know, I just haven't We haven't had the time.

  • Yeah, might as it sounds.

  • But with basketball and stuff, I just, you know, sort of been the key aspect of my life.

  • Like, you know, my life is so revolved around basketball for a little while now.

  • So how, when you say little while, like when did that start becoming a thing in your life?

  • Like when you was before 11.

  • After never.

  • When I was about around 12 ball park, I just started getting into it, you know, because my brother, it was him who originally so picked up basketball, and, you know, he will go over his friends.

  • And I just wanted to sort a road.

  • You feel me S o you know, I started to take interest in it.

  • You know, it would start off playing in the parts, watching like the street basketball videos on one mix, tapes and stuff.

  • Um, and then, ah, you know, just a passion for him.

  • And I loved it.

  • It was something, you know, it came easy for me.

  • Like I didn't feel like I was, uh, so I salute when I was playing basketball or anything like that.

  • At that point, I just knew that this was music Black playing a big part in your life as well, in terms of inspiring you tow, tow, Toby, a basket with music lovers huge my hip popper, mask your body, go hand in hand.

  • You know?

  • So you know the music culture.

  • And musically, I've always loved me.

  • I played Trump's full operated basketball, you know?

  • I mean, when I was young, you know, played jumps up to three years.

  • You know, my dad's always been big on music.

  • Listen, I remember growing up, and he was sort of in a studio, and I remember him.

  • Listeninto felon on Bob Marley and a lot of jazz and saxophone and instrumentals like I just remember one of those memories.

  • So music's always been like love music.

  • Yeah.

  • How old was you when you went to America?

  • Do you better do 16.

  • 16.

  • And you ain't college day now.

  • First, I went thio on high school for two years of high school for two.

  • So which is the equivalent of a levels?

  • Yeah.

  • And did you leave?

  • So, did you go on your own?

  • Yeah, I went on my own.

  • Um, I would say with the whole family.

  • Okay.

  • How was it?

  • Like, you know, believe in the family first and go in and doing and just being in a whole different country in a wild way?

  • Um, it was pretty easy One.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah, I just knew I wanted to do.

  • Yeah, I just knew I loved possible.

  • And this was the show I wanted.

  • I wanted to go out there, and I wanted to, you know I'm not.

  • I knew Sof, you know, my parents and my brother got my back, and they know I'm doing it for a good reason.

  • But I didn't Look back.

  • Look back.

  • Um, you know, I think, um, I'm blessed to see things that way.

  • Ah, because sometimes, you know, some people can maybe get caught between okay?

  • I don't want to leave my family.

  • I don't leave my loved ones on.

  • Do you know something that they really want?

  • You know, But, um something things you dream about those are places you've never been before.

  • So you're gonna have to go out off the known.

  • Yeah.

  • You think to get anything?

  • It's not early.

  • So of sacrificing it.

  • Like where you feel like there's a There's a dream there that you're pursuing a career.

  • Ultimately obviously you love your family and your friends and stuff like that.

  • But there's, like, a little sacrifice that my name will be made and used.

  • It seems that you kind of like identified that that's identified that sacrifice kind of early.

  • Still, I'm and you know what I mean.

  • I was wondering, like my mom and dad, They always you did Used to sort of told me growing up, like, you know, if you want good things, you have to make sacrifices, you know?

  • I mean, you're gonna have to sacrifice your time.

  • You're gonna have to sacrifice, uh, you know, going out your mates and little things by that that, you know, we're just normal around that you're gonna have to make sacrifices.

  • But the more you love something, you don't see it as a sacrifice right now.

  • How different was it like was naturally, you know, you being he was in high school in England and that in London.

  • And then you're gone like that kind of finish high school tour and going to college like, how was that?

  • Was every other cultures Up to a degree, I know that, like, musically, you feel kind of connected a bit because you're listening to the wrappers.

  • One not so.

  • Think about it.

  • Like, you know, when I was going up.

  • Listen, I remember like, que no p's and Q's.

  • I remember watching all of the, like, the risky Rose video, you know, I'm saying I remember Crazy Titch and all of that, like I remember Gary JJ.

  • Yeah, you know.

  • I mean, like, crime and all of that.

  • The soul solid, you know?

  • I mean, all of them.

  • Um, so it was different going out to the States.

  • You know?

  • Obviously you knew the music.

  • I was popping in the states, but it was like it was still different.

  • Um, what do you like?

  • It was my because I went over there on the first.

  • I went to two different high schools in the two years and the first high school went to was a private school.

  • Oh, for real.

  • It's Matt.

  • And you know, I never Everything was wild.

  • So you went from light literally public school in England in that London.

  • I went from Tottenham Tottenham toe.

  • Really good good school.

  • He's going Mill Hill and then rifled up to a private school in the States like mine.

  • It was insane.

  • I'm talking Lexuses.

  • And no one in the school's over 18.

  • Obviously, like kids.

  • Yeah, Lex is one of the goals that went to the school.

  • Had, like a sweet 16.

  • Remember, Sweetie, of course.

  • You had a sweet 16 birthday by my own.

  • A big boat on a big boat.

  • Big boat.

  • Imagine it fell out from him.

  • I'm in Virginia, in America, on a boat pie for a sweet 16.

  • What?

  • It's funny when you see, like, different levels on a different level, there's levels.

  • You know what is mad as well?

  • Yeah.

  • Is that like because, obviously, where you come from, you seeing different things.

  • But then, like for somebody like that, that's just normal.

  • Is no eyes over them apart?

  • You on a boat?

  • It's wild.

  • It's wild.

  • It's absolute.

  • Both The first thing I realized in the 1st 1 I know I'm not, like, walked in on my first day.

  • Um, you know, obviously you know that school everyone.

  • You know where the slacks and colored thing too.

  • You know, that was every over Don't you want?

  • But we're in England at war uniform for calm.

  • Yeah, I seem like people just left their phones on the floors next to their lockers.

  • Lockers were open phones on the floor, bags open trusts.

  • That was such a wild element.

  • When when I see you talking, bro, what seemed like just everyone stuff was just lying everywhere I set off arrived.

  • This'd is what?

  • The day This is how the other side lives It was wild to be.

  • It was a while to.

  • Did you play basketball?

  • College?

  • Yeah, in, you know, in America.

  • Yeah.

  • So how was how was that?

  • No.

  • Sick?

  • Yes.

  • Like even playing sports in high school and college.

  • Possible in a way I could get even Playing like in high school is wild because they put if you look at the high school sports now in the stakes, their stadiums in in, Ah, in Texas, they are bigger than some of the primus ships.

  • Yeah, you know, and you just wrap your head around that That's crazy.

  • These kids like that.

  • This is just a level up from, like, you know, this is grassroots stuff on.

  • Now they're pumped more money into the facilities there, and they have matching facilities to some of your most paid athletes in the world.

  • Crazy, you know?

  • I mean, and in college, you know, that's that's just the level up, like, you know, I mean, you know, play you play in college, So you play on TV, you play nationally televised games.

  • It is No, there's no difference between a professional and obviously besides just the money.

  • But college sports is it's massive damage.

  • Huge, but there's like there's like a lot off from I mean, I don't I'm hearing it, so I just hear some conversations and stuff like that.

  • But there is light conversation about the amount of money that the college basketball and football and stuff like that make.

  • But the fact that they're not, they don't get paid.

  • It's wrong.

  • Yeah, well, what is your?

  • What is your theory is wrong.

  • You can't have, uh, it's not.

  • It's the same.

  • It's the same for me.

  • It's the same idea as a sweatshop.

  • Mmm.

  • Special with athletes.

  • I mean, they do in order work, they doing all the work and you fool them and saying, Oh, free education.

  • Let's break down the numbers.

  • Don't give me that.

  • Let's break down what tuition with costs.

  • And let's break down what they making TV contracts, what they make in ticket Selves, what they make you merchandising, what they're making, you know, advertising all of that.

  • Let's break down the numbers and then let's see in proportion if it's bad enough, you know, I mean, and that's the fingers.

  • Like I heard and I've heard people say this before, is the r k will.

  • Cool.

  • You know what?

  • Like they pay for my accommodation, they pay for my health care that we get to use, like, high level for silly ease and stuff like that.

  • You know, they they get to use, you know, some great facilities and stuff like that, But for me, when I'm trying to understand it, my mindset is always being cause I am.

  • I ain't so much.

  • I'm not a person knew so much about money, but I'm definitely about the terms.

  • So what I mean by that is I'm like, I can't cool.

  • There's a pie here.

  • Yeah, there's a pie here.

  • I need to know what's going where on Let's look at what I'm looking at the percentages.

  • I don't listen well, and I feel like this percentage is what I feel that we should get.

  • You can't just pawn me off by saying we'll do the job getting a pie over there, and I don't even get to look at the pie.

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  • But you know what?

  • Like and this is what on the whole happens a lot.

  • It happens in a lot of different areas, and you really got a deep it, um, can freeze.

  • Get in.

  • Getting free stuff in a partnership is a paw.

  • Yeah, I hear that.

  • Hey is a par and you go deep and I don't go deeper into it.

  • But if what?

  • Someone's coming up to you if someone runs a company, Yeah, Boom.

  • Let's have a partnership.

  • Will give you much free stuff as you want.

  • Yeah, and you're going into a partnership with them.

  • Was we'll find a ship now?

  • Yeah, it's apart because the ultimately were a lot of what the business is driven for or driven to is you.

  • So if you're looking at the terms, you know, even the times is no even that great because you just get in the free stuff.

  • Essentially, you get in the free stuff, but everything else that's in the pie, you don't have a say or nothing in on.

  • Maybe wait a minute.

  • Maybe there's Maybe there's an argument in it that, like, I don't understand that hasn't been brought to me wherever.

  • But I do think it's just a bit with it.

  • Together.

  • I'm saying is like This is when I find out when I actually find out how big is over there.

  • I'm not rock like this when I see the hope.

  • Yes, I'm not your There's like people out there that literally look forward to that.

  • The college element of it more than the actual main sport, Of course.

  • That's their feet, Mr Energy.

  • Yes, they're pumping money into it, you know, I mean, or whatever.

  • And then, like, so you just get well, you you just get in the free accommodation and health care and stuff like that.

  • And how many people get paid from that deeper order presenters all of the like without the college athletes where you're like, that's a huge part of your entertainment.

  • It's a huge, huge part.

  • But my whole thing is, it comes down to the time we live in, you know?

  • I mean, on and it comes down to just be in, um, just a bit just looking at the bigger picture.

  • Yeah, you know, I mean, like, we're always everything in the medias tries toe, um, tell you how good it is for things to come quickly and my it's amazing I can get this in this quick time.

  • And why is that a great thing?

  • Why is that?

  • A good thing.

  • No one, even questions.

  • That is a good thing to get straight away.

  • Is that even good?

  • Mmm.

  • If someone says, boom, I can put up a house, you in one day.

  • Is that good?

  • What's the quality of that house say?

  • Of course.

  • Burned down quick.

  • But what's the What's the quality about how saying is this able to go up in one day?

  • I could fool down the same day four down in 10 minutes.

  • Yeah, you know, I mean, like, but we're just no, too much.

  • I just know that I were were, you know, condition the right way to look at the bigger picture, your talkto only look at, you know, the next tiny piece of cheese instead of looking at the whole block, chief.

  • But then, um you know, sometimes going on and stuff like that talk to me about the time between playing like college basketball on also moving abroad and go in and playing in Greece and Spain s o I.

  • I'm done with college, you know, lost.

  • Last game was done and I got to training and working out again, preparing for the draft, you know, because I was That was my whole goal.

  • That was the whole purpose.

  • It's going over to the States with me.

  • Um, and then I didn't get drafted.

  • No, I mean, how did that feel?

  • So horrible, man?

  • Horrible.

  • By the same time, that was one of the first times I think in my life.

  • Like I had to take a step back on deep the bigger picture, you know?

  • I mean, because there's one way you could say our man.

  • I'm wasted all my time.

  • I watch, you know, and then so get in the front row by it.

  • But then you take a step back and just look what basket was the vehicle that has been?

  • Did you have, like, did you have conversations with black?

  • Maybe your elders, or like, people around you about like, how like it made you feel.

  • But also, just like you know, what could potentially be the next steps for you as well?

  • Um, I mean, I just knew I knew if that didn't work out, you know, I would always be able to play in your, um you know, that was so much fullback plan if you have it.

  • I really didn't talk to two people.

  • by Howard Feldman.

  • To be honest, now that I think about it, didn't really speak Thio.

  • Many people Excuse me.

  • Sorry about how I felt.

  • It was It was a disappointment.

  • Mumbai was a life lesson, you know?

  • I mean, you, you hit disappointments, but you keep on plugging away, man.

  • You know, um, because as long as you saw off, believe enough in the bigger picture of things, you know, then you're not gonna limit yourself to one disappointment.

  • Like, No way.

  • No way.

  • If you've been building for years, you can know.

  • No, my, how big the disappointment is.

  • Um, you call Frawley.

  • You know what?

  • You've been all that work that you put into the bank.

  • You can't.

  • You can't throw it away.

  • Like where?

  • What was happening between the Love Island part and the plane abroad?

  • Yeah.

  • What was you doing that Where was, you know, where was you before Love Island?

  • Where was you?

  • What would you do in what was going on for love on.

  • And I was in Spain for three years before that.

  • I was in Italy for a couple of months.

  • Okay, um, Greece.

  • For a year before Greece, I was in France for a year before the house in the States.

  • Okay.

  • Okay, so I literally just I've been playing in different countries.

  • How did the Love Island thing kind of happened with Judah?

  • Like war?

  • My brother, man.

  • Is it?

  • Yeah.

  • Big bro with me.

  • What happened?

  • He just said Ray, But Ray box?

  • No, literally.

  • It started at so dismissed their first.

  • You know, when I come back in the summer, this Miss Walker Did he ring you and say no?

  • I was back.

  • I come back in the summers Like when I'm in the off season to just chill the family and stuff.

  • Yeah, um, sounds back into someone like that's when Love Island is.

  • You know, that doesn't normally the period for it.

  • Have you been watching it before?

  • I watched.

  • I watched two episodes last year because Alexandra Kane, who was in last year we went to high school to go into secret when I was a movie.

  • So, like, you know, someone makes all addicts on TV, So I checked out.

  • So run in.

  • And you know what?

  • My brother, yet my brother was like, he watched it religiously.

  • You know, him and him and his missus.

  • Okay, so he was my brother.

  • You know what?

  • We'll just jump in a way that, you know, you sick on this show?

  • That's exactly always said it was I proud.

  • You see a Cornish all that mind sharp are you talking about?

  • You know, I mean, like, um, time and passed.

  • I was back in Spain for my season, literally.

  • Just downtime off the train.

  • And one that, like, you have a lot of downtime when you're playing, you have training every day and then wherever.

  • And um so then I just I don't know why it popped into my mind.

  • Let me check up the love I deal.

  • Yeah, I went on cool.

  • How to apply for Love Island 19.

  • Yeah.

  • And then, you know, So it takes you to the thing.

  • And I started the application.

  • Didn't finish.

  • I caught myself.

  • What do I know?

  • You just shot my laptop, man.

  • And I just slept back on the place.

  • That's not for me.

  • And then, um, they start send me email problems because I'd started.

  • Okay, finish the application.

  • Sometimes in life, so I could see that you was there, and they will come back and be like You know what?

  • Yeah.

  • Thio you wanted to chop What's the comeback?

  • If you have something to say?

  • So black that must've sent tingles like four.

  • You know, I go to the 4th 1 cause you know the reason why all that now and then I seem like you have to upload pictures last long this long too much allow it.

  • But then the forefront of you know, let me finish the application And just, you know, daily weather.

  • Don't leave me alone.

  • Bravo sent in the application.

  • They called me the next day I for my TV, our side.

  • There's no way you kidded lie TV, Bellamy Like I've been Spain.

  • No.

  • Yeah, it's really us.

  • Um that's the way you think.

  • You know, you should come in and start so yeah, So what?

  • The south because of you Said he was in your downtime.

  • So what did you fly back?

  • And I was actually luckily in the country from national.

  • Wait, hold on.

  • Wait one second.

  • Isn't Love Island in Spain anyway?

  • Sim?

  • Yoko I was in New York.

  • Are Spain?

  • Yes, Yes.

  • Oh, it's local.

  • Look.

  • So what?

  • So wait, you didn't even come back to the ends You just went straight from, You know, I did come back.

  • You know, I was back home when they were doing, like, sort of costs and stuff.

  • I was back in.

  • I was lucky.

  • And just like everything just seemed to that click up because I had a game for the national team.

  • Okay.

  • You know, because they have windows, you know, I like football to go over the windows so that it came.

  • Um, it was up in Manchester, or Ah, I don't know.

  • Is I win in time?

  • Um, yeah.

  • Ripped down to London quickly did the little cost in interview thing.

  • And what is actually what is the cut out?

  • What did they make you do?

  • Have you got a long day on the plane?

  • I was Chance unit.

  • I'll talk to you.

  • You have a conversation with you.

  • See what?

  • You're liking it.

  • Yeah, as much as they can.

  • So how comes you wasn't in the beginning?

  • How comes you went in, like at the time that you went in?

  • Because you did you would you do in the cost and stuff off prior to it, being on the phone went in at that time.

  • How times you didn't I I think the beginning of it was was too close to the end of my seat.

  • Okay, Um, like, I don't know if I would have made it when they told me Cats are more like, I don't know, form.

  • What?

  • I was the main villa.

  • How did you think was going into the outside?

  • Yes, I'm going into this.

  • Let me see what it's doing to say, You know, um, yeah, I got there.

  • You know, It took me like a day's realized, like, Okay, I looked.

  • I looked a bit different, right?

  • Look different in real life type of thing.

  • But then you could naturally, just then I saw you on TV, and it doesn't different, but then after a while, you realize not it's No, it's not to do.

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, um, And then obviously, either the guys, when they're in order.

  • So then everything just sort of clicked once, actually got there.

  • Yeah, but Yemen as well The thing is, I mean, there's so much different things to talk about in that sense, and I don't want to necessarily have the same conversation that everyone's happened with new under here, but lack There's this level of curious you under so many different things.

  • Like firstly, when you came into the house Yeah, I remember.

  • It was like a thing where um Oh, what's what's the girl's name?

  • The one that you first stated Anna.

  • Yeah, because before you come in for times we took about Yeah, I just need him to Didn't have any ever other thing that she wanted, but she was only the tour guy.

  • I need to talk.

  • I need a tour guide.

  • But she didn't She had other things or what?

  • No.

  • So when you came in there, the whole of social media was kind of like Yet he's snatching the food now because this is the guy that she's ultimately being talking about, bro.

  • Other I've never seen if it like it.

  • Do you understand how much Twitter and Instagram and Social Media was riding for you, bro?

  • Mental fun like it was a different level of writing, bro.

  • Seriously, dude, like, have you ever have you actually taken a moment to think and deep that prior just know, even know?

  • No, even the show.

  • But just that the amount of people that actually was just riding for you.

  • I don't think about none of that kind of stuff.

  • God, like, Okay, like, you know, I can live the life experiences and and then, you know, just be what is Yeah, but obviously, like, is still overwhelming to me.

  • And it's still hard for me to even put it.

  • When I think of just about this share my people who are so supportive, like the positive energy and vibes and stuff.

  • It's still it's wild to get my head around.

  • Yeah, him and I just leave it at that.

  • Jeremy and I went in there.

  • I just you know, I lived my life for a couple weeks and then, you know, so little bit much did you feel Did you feel like there was eyes on you at the time when he was in there?

  • Did you feel it?

  • You know, like sometimes when you go into a place here, say, like, you walk into a studio and then it's like a bunch of people in the studio and you're not looking at them.

  • But you can just feel that, you know, you feel that?

  • Yeah.

  • Did you feel that when you was in there.

  • Did you feel that, Like, from people inside?

  • No, just from outside.

  • Did you feel?

  • I don't know.

  • I had no idea.

  • I literally had No, I had no clue.

  • There was a couple of times like, um, when you know, I think me and we saw had a little fall out.

  • Whatever you know, decided that we're gonna try walking like, Sorry.

  • Brought that.

  • Vex me.

  • I know, I know it was time to go in with that, but it did vex me.

  • Only because I feel like a lot of our CIA black guys.

  • Some of us have been in similar situations where slack, You had having a debate with someone in an argument.

  • But you ain't even done anything wrong.

  • But you mean to feel a lot.

  • You've just done a madness before, you know.

  • It is ended so quickly.

  • You like your what the Oh, yeah.

  • Um, yeah.

  • So he was talking about There was a little time when you and her had a little more weight.

  • Got a little bit wherever, however, did not use this kind of images Just living your life, you know?

  • Yeah.

  • I'll just I'll just doing my thing, man.

  • Like on by the main keeping from me that I wasn't gonna go in and force anything or will be someone I'm not.

  • You know, I mean, um, I was just tied up and just enjoying my time in New York.

  • Um, And Sonny Good.

  • Good situation like, yeah, this wall is going to say there was a time after that.

  • We got to the next re couple in Norway, and then we stayed in and, like, you know, my whole thing is done like, you know, I know must have, like, a lot of fans, like they say it, doesn't it?

  • I'm not.

  • That's not my whole thing.

  • And then even later, when I was of Amber as well, I got lucky twice.

  • Yeah, I'm saying, like, I don't save me the first time and number saved me second time type of thing.

  • You know, it's like the old time I put out the lost ring on his finger where people were actually, you know, I guess it's easy to kind of figure when you're in a couple.

  • You don't know who the outside is writing for.

  • You think maybe, like when I was new like I just go in there like, Yeah, I'm just sure.

  • You know, I just got a huge following it, and she saved us in it.

  • Um, yeah.

  • Cool.

  • Like the thing that was just different for me.

  • I think toe every other person who went in there, I just generally didn't my okay when I went home?

  • Yeah, I didn't mind.

  • Come on.

  • It was an experience because it is the next day.

  • It's experience of like, it's such a dope experience in a cool experience.

  • Yeah.

  • You know, like because there was no There's never any ulterior motive for me, like, you know, I mean, my thing is, you know, I'm my life is fine Just playing ball.

  • You know, I'm happy.

  • I just wanted to experience something different, you know?

  • And if I can come across someone that's real in that sort of environment Stoltman.

  • You know, I wouldn't even go as far as to say love.

  • You know, love is deep, man.

  • You can't.

  • You can't, you know.

  • I mean, you can't.

  • You know, love is real.

  • Then you recognize what, like a lot of people just getting mixed up with, like on the show, like no people on it.

  • But what people that are watching it?

  • They put so much emphasis on the.

  • But he doesn't love her, though, And she doesn't love him.

  • No, and it's like But yo, they don't even know each other.

  • Love, Let's get let's give chalks You love a chance to grow And love will be different for everyone.

  • Yeah, I mean, there is no list that says Okay, this is exactly you know what love for you will be.

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, it doesn't you know Oh, I'll be honest as well, though I was definitely one of them types of people that were kind of on the thing off, you know, like over the time that I've watched it, you see people get together and then over a period of time, obviously to go out in the limelight for a little bit and then it just break up in the sky just is what it is.

  • And if one's lower will only last three months.

  • Oh, there's my my time.

  • What?

  • No, But then when you deep real life, that's actually just what happens in real life.

  • Anyway, you meet somebody, people go one.

  • You know what people go One black.

  • They meet somebody black, the first person in me and they with them for 10 years.

  • Like just off the back of you get together.

  • Sometimes it don't work sometimes.

  • Well, sometimes it's like that.

  • And that's the reality of, you know, I mean that.

  • And that's one thing.

  • Um, I think even a lot of the other island is that you should keep that in mind, man, like, you know, you're all humans on And, um, sometimes relationships that start with the dopest of sparks.

  • I just don't work out.

  • I just don't work out, you know?

  • And it's not because one person's bad or there's a the bad guy and a good guy.

  • No, like, just don't look up.

  • Of course, you know, I mean, um, the majority of people in this world relations won't work out.

  • A jury Maur It won't work out of more people than it would.

  • Yeah, that's like if you deep that it's just it's the reality of it, like, you know, I mean, so how did it feel being like because you were one of the, uh, you're one of the elders in there?

  • Obviously, some people were black extra young.

  • Did it?

  • Did you feel Did that feel different?

  • Did you feel different?

  • Like going in there's more is, like a older person.

  • A lot chill.

  • A lot more Children.

  • Everyone else there.

  • Was there a part in there where you felt maybe a little bit like a fish out of a war orbit over our place?

  • Or just like, just like I was the old head of mine?

  • I didn't mind.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • I was actually fine with that.

  • Yeah, you know, I mean, I saw, you know, some of the guys on the show pretty young and and you just go embrace them and, you know, I mean, and sometimes, um, I think more so, like in the media and stuff, you can get some of these guys a break mine, you know, especially the younger ones.

  • You know that that age between, you know, sort of 16 I'll say to 24 people, you know, that kind of that period there.

  • Like teenagers right now, having a hard enough time.

  • Just me.

  • My day day.

  • You know, kids that age, they already have a hard enough time accepting who they are on dhe finding the confidence to be themselves S o you know, as a community like we got no help from outman, you can't make things harder for them than it already is.

  • Because it's not easy for these guys money, You know, one of the most savage times in all of our lives.

  • The secondary school, secondary school.

  • Primary school is a savage place, you know, I mean, an extra hard for some people.

  • It's really hard for some people.

  • You gotta give these little break some, you know?

  • You know that?

  • No.

  • You know, I I'm No, the mindset that anyone's they're trying to do, um, anyone harm or bean?

  • Awesome.

  • You know, they're gonna make mistake.

  • They're young, they're really young.

  • I'm still young.

  • I'm still making mistake.

  • Definitely.

  • You know, I mean, like, so imagine what my life where we wasn't making any mistake.

  • That would be my Warren's.

  • I think that there was, like, obviously a lot of conversation which you already know that, like people wanting you to be of amber and all that stuff.

  • And I was calling it from a long time.

  • I saying Listen, yeah, you see, over he that is not gonna be that But I tell you way is gonna be there.

  • You're gonna be our brethren.

  • Every month that she has afterwards is gonna hate your guts.

  • You're gonna be the bridge.

  • In a way.

  • It's kind of like you saying my mind's your Bridget.

  • Yeah.

  • What, you two, really?

  • You know, they're ones there where you can't just be friends with a girl in everyone's lack.

  • But so for this, that's two things my nest, us asked.

  • Emily Goldman is you know, part of it is the male ego part as self assurance.

  • But part of that is cause, like again, I think the media, they almost they don't promote relationships between people of the opposite sex that isn't sexualized, you know?

  • I mean, like any big, big relationship that's in the public between a man and a woman or, you know, to Pete, you know, like, what?

  • What does that mean you turn into?

  • Yes.

  • True.

  • How many people do you know in the media that are just really good friends?

  • That's it doesn't know that they like they want to promote that.

  • Don't worry, Mama.

  • Drama, You know, I mean, and to do that, it is easier to create drama, I think, like in that song off, Um, that intimate space there is between bridges.

  • Yeah.

  • The last thing I want to talk about on just show anyway, was the message thing that I know that a Come on.

  • You know, Theo, don't be a menace.

  • You know, that business about that was one of us.

  • Okay, we have to.

  • That was the only time I felt like I was maybe a bit old.

  • That was the only time I actually maybe I'm just old like their generation didn't really watch.

  • Yeah, on be fair is old is the oldest of all time on bet.

  • So for some people who don't know we're talking about you When over He was saying message message.

  • Where did it come from?

  • It was from a film, right?

  • Don't be a menace in South Central.

  • Eugene.

  • Come on.

  • Listen.

  • Yeah, I'll tell you, the film is so funny, and it's actually it's a spinoff.

  • Off filled out a couple of ah, many society.

  • And if you have a lot of boys in the hood off little clips Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  • So, like, that was where it comes from.

  • And every time one of the news was in there like trying to kick some game or a message.

  • I mean, that was the last one that allows.

  • It was like he did it.

  • And the guy was like, but I became must see that it's well, too.

  • Think about that.

  • That, like, it's just stuff like girl pointing that type of thing.

  • Yeah.

  • You know, I'm just saying my group of friends and stuff, like everyone with everyone would just gave way.

  • We'll watch that movie type of thing.

  • So, like first time, I did see that in, uh, in order, guys in there, literally every dust was like, No, no, you're not supposed to see it like that.

  • You got to say I've got a text.

  • Oh, I was looked at me.

  • Oh, look over.

  • Is that what made you say more now to find that man?

  • And I'm saying I want to see you people tell him you know you got t o.

  • You don't get a say eyes got battery.

  • Just you know, I was definitely offering woz like minded me nose like courted when it comes to somebody.

  • Oh, no.

  • These things I do want to say is why don't you ever see paid in four?

  • That's come.

  • Would you?

  • Feeling me a listen?

  • That is one of my favorite films of legendary Les.

  • I want him up.

  • That's like one of the only films I've watched lack over and over again.

  • I'm not really a manual.

  • Sit down.

  • What was that?

  • Pretty times.

  • Plenty time now you're in a space, you've come out 1/3 place in the first place and life has obviously drastically changed in terms off your profile, like huge.

  • I want to ask you, even looking back now, in the little time that you've had out, how in reflection has that has it made you feel like, now that your profile is as big as it is?

  • And everybody knows you?

  • What goes for your mind every day?

  • Positivity.

  • Um, the biggest thing that probably stays on my mind constantly is just being positive, optimistic person even more so.

  • Now, um, because I just think thus when you're now seen by a lot of people now, you're in a position of influence, you know?

  • I mean, and, you know, just need more positive energy influenced month and saw off letting people know that it's cool to be even all of us, that every last one, I was different.

  • But every last one of us is cool for a different reason.

  • There was even conversations about, like, just you being a positive, um, you know, Black man, role model and stuff like that.

  • You get what I'm saying, Someone who's seen on TV on DDE where, you know, maybe some people naturally fought that you're gonna be the person who come there to be loud and overly aggressive and, you know, bring the street to the thing, or whatever the thing is, you know what that was about?

  • That, um, reality TV is a space where you can't script it.

  • So regardless of how you think someone with Actel, maybe if you know, this is something that you, you know you support.

  • You don't support these images that you want these certain characters there.

  • You can never really truly tell how anyone will babe, you know, I mean, I felt like, uh, you know, looking in retrospect, um, you know, I'm just happy to have been received that way, because I I journeyed, Do believe that, you know, there's holes.

  • What was stigma around, You know, the young black fellows and stuff.

  • It's not.

  • There's a lot of the time it's not telling the full story, but like we were taken earlier, it's not looking at the whole party, you know?

  • I mean, um, I am unlike to come out, and so I hear things like that.

  • That's the stuff that's probably touched me the most mundane on mother's coming up to me.

  • And so I said, I'm you know, Yeah, probably.

  • Even.

  • Yeah, it hits deep, man.

  • Yeah, that You know, Onder fellas support from from the guys.

  • Yeah, it's a lot harder for a guy to support enough.

  • It's a lot harder, I'm telling you.

  • You know, I mean, and I know how you said it's like t

so Yeah, it's J D in the bag myself.
