  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now.

  • During the middle of last decade, I made the switch to PC gaming on one of the first chips I owned on one of my favorites was the Pentium G 30 to 58.

  • This was a cheap to core to threaded option that allowed me to make the switch from my Xbox 360 on enjoying my favorite titles on the PC without having to spend too much money.

  • After all, I barely had any money to spend.

  • I hadn't left school too long before, and I was making videos from the spare room in my nan's house.

  • Can you imagine?

  • Anyway, since then, we've seen many Pentium chips release, though these days they can be found with four threads instead of two, and that greatly helps him out when it comes to running modern games.

  • In 2017 when we saw the release of the G 45 60 this at about 50 to £60 here in the UK seemed like an ideal option for that was on a budget until, of course, the rise of 3 1200 came out.

  • Although it was a little more expensive.

  • It offered a guaranteed upgrade path, and it sort of traded blows with the G 45 60 in a lot of tasks, though, personally, I was still in favour off the Intel chip just a little bit.

  • Nonetheless, I took the plunge polarizing 3 1200 on Dhe.

  • Suffice to say, I've never really looked back, and I've stuck mainly with the A M D A.

  • M four platform ever since.

  • In 2018 Intel released the best Pentium to date the three point knowing gigahertz G 5600 although with a price of about I think, $93 in the US it made even less sense because this was encroaching on core Ay three territory.

  • And, as you know, the core of threes at the time weren't really too much more so.

  • It was a harder chip to justify.

  • In fact, the G 5400 and the G 5500 made a little more sense at about 75 $85 respectively.

  • In 2019 however, I came across, a few article was detained the release off the 1st 4 gigahertz Pentium from Intel.

  • At first I thought I had just stumbled across a few older articles.

  • But then I remembered that we had never previously seen at four gigahertz Pentium processor.

  • I think Intel got to about 3.8 gigahertz with the painting four and 3.6 with Pentium Day.

  • But of course, if you liked heating your house for the winter, then you could over clock or three points six or 3.8 gigahertz Pentium on.

  • Probably hit that four gigahertz.

  • Mark yourself back to the present day or 2019.

  • And this so called G 56 20 was supposedly the company's 1st 4 gigahertz Pentium that was due to release imminently.

  • Thea only thing is, these articles started popping up, and we never actually saw the G 56 20 appear Now.

  • Despite all this, this chip apparently did launch in February of 2019 for a recommended retail price of about $90.

  • Now I have seen a listing for one pop up.

  • Occasionally one was on box UK.

  • I think it costs about £90 and another listing was on Amazon for about £111.

  • This, of course, thing like a ridiculous price, especially now when the rise and 5 1600 F in the UK can be had for about 80 or 90.

  • So I think in time probably missed the appropriate slot or window to release the CPU if they were ever going to.

  • Nonetheless, I did place an online order and that I was told that I would have to wait 123 months for it to turn up.

  • That was actually three months and one week ago to this exact day and after enquiring as to where my chip waas I was told that it didn't actually exist on the listing was a mistake.

  • I then took to Ali Express, where I found another store page for the G 56 20 and I was out at the time.

  • I was on the phone on that quickly came across this listing and I thought, Right, I'll order in the morning.

  • So I got home, waited to the next morning and the listing had been removed.

  • I was not meant to get hold off this CPU.

  • Nonetheless, I think we should take a quick look at some G 5600 benchmarks just to see how well a chip like this still does in 2020.

  • How did the two cause and the fourth threats hold up.

  • These days, I want the G 56 20 Intel.

  • A lot of you probably think it is going to be pointless anyway, but still, it would be fun to mess around with, especially for those that waited for a four gigahertz Pentium back in the day, only to have that suddenly disappear.

  • So it does so in obsolete to some of you, I'm sure.

  • But with a lot of people complaining about what Intel were doing at the higher end of the CBU market, I think if they did release the G 56 20 at the right price, say a very competitive price of £50 or dollars old euros to compete with entry level atthe Lonz, then they could regain a chunk of potential budget gamers.

  • A market which, sadly seems to be going over looked at the moment in favor of more I nines with silly names.

  • The closest that is available is the G 5600 which is clocked at 3.9 gigahertz, and I have some performance figures from a couple of games.

  • It goes without saying that the integrated Uhd 6 30 graphics do for short, so pairing it with a discreet Jeep for you is obviously the way forward.

  • That being said, it's still not the wisest investment, and looking out for a rise in 3200 G or secondhand 1200 would make more sense.

  • But the Pentium still does put up a decent fight in some games, so I don't think this range is quite dead yet.

  • And I'd love to see a return of these entry level chips some day because I'm sure they would still do very well.

  • I bet the second I click upload on this video, the G 56 20 will be released.

  • Thank you very much for watching.

  • I hope you enjoyed this video.

  • If you did leave her like on it, leave a dislike If you didn't let me know if you're still rocking a Pentium in your gaming system.
