  • a YouTube Bugsy here with another two minute ultralight review on ultra light backpacking in a video down the road.

  • I will walk you through my entire wash kit today.

  • I'm just addressing the little question of hand sanitizer or wet wipes.

  • I'm not sure I'll have a video is controversial.

  • Is this?

  • I expect to take some heat from some of you guys.

  • Let the timer begin.

  • Okay.

  • Cleanliness is next to godliness.

  • Isn't that what they say or let me say it differently?

  • Having everything come out of both ends while you walk for miles on end as well.

  • Not fun for you or anyone walking in your footsteps.

  • Let me start with an important statement.

  • Neither hand sanitizer nor wet wipes are good enough.

  • The research has shown that both lose their effectiveness when your hands are grimy.

  • And I don't need to tell you what Backpackers hands could look like.

  • Um, the alcohol in the jail, whether we're talking about this or this just isn't nearly strong enough to break down grime or the germs in the grime.

  • The alcohol is only strong enough to kill the germs in the natural skin.

  • Oils on the surface of your hands.

  • That's not my opinion.

  • That's actual fact.

  • I looked it up.

  • So the bigger point here is that you should always bring a little soap and something to scrub your your hands with, like your bandanna.

  • I try to make a habit of scrubbing my hands before I eat at night.

  • I'd be lying if I said I did it more frequently than that.

  • So was Soap as the primary point, Let me say that I highly recommend hand sanitizer over wet wipes, and here is why it's smaller.

  • It's the lighter.

  • It doesn't evaporate and dry out.

  • It's better for the environment as you generate no trash and last but not least, wipes come with odor and mess.

  • Most people take these little packs with them.

  • These seals do not work well enough to keep the sent out original lemons s or whatever you bring.

  • The odor does get out, and it's very noticeable.

  • And with odor comes the risk of attracting critters.

  • These packs are seemed to leach out the alcohol of moisture.

  • Doesn't matter what you do.

  • Get some to your backpack materials or wherever you keep them.

  • Sure, you can place them in a plastic bag, but we all know that plastic bags aren't impervious, either.

  • So carrying announced Harry announce of soap and an ounce of hand sanitizer and you'll be set Time's up.

  • I hope I gave you something to think about.

  • If you haven't already subscribe to my channel, click on that itty bitty Bugsy lager.
