We're going to look at some idiomatic phrases or idioms or phrases depending you want to describe them. Idioms are used a lot in the English language. You hear them in films, you hear them in people's ocnversations, you read them in articles. And sometimes not quite sure what they mean. And when somebody uses them there is no hint from what they say as to exactly what it means. Let me give you an example. So Under the Weather. If I said to you I am feeling under the weather today what does that mean? Well, let me give you an example. When you walk into a room or into your office and somebody is caughing and spluttering and sneezing. And you say: "Oh, how are you feeling? Are you ok?" "Oh I am a little under the weather" meaning I am not well. Okay. So anytime that you're feeling a little sick or a little bit of a headcold or "man" flu as we like to call it then you can say I am feeling under the weather. How is he today? Oh he is under the weather, I wouldn't disturb him. Okay. So remember as always to subscribe to our Channel and join us on www.englishlessonviaskype.com and we'll catch up with you very soon.
