Alfredo Sanchez, from Fort Myers is behind bars after deputies say he made comments about having the ability to shoot up a synagogue in Fort Myers.
And what's even more alarming is that the synagogue is less than a mile away from the suspect's home.
Fox, for Sandra Rodriguez has been on the story since it developed this morning.
She's at the suspect's house, where the story has neighbors talking.
Sandra, Well, they're telling me this is something they would have never imagined.
Earlier today, I did speak with the rabbi who said he couldn't comment much since this is still an active investigation, but did confirm that Sanchez is a member of the synagogue, that it's also a Hebrew school.
I think it's crazy, but you know they're good people over there.
Alfredo Sanchez was known at his community as being a friendly man.
Neighbors shocked to hear the news.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office received information regarding a threat made against the synagogue in Fort Myers.
Officials say that threat came from Sanchez, also known in the synagogue community as Manuel Sanchez.
Sanchez made at least one statement indicating that he had the ability and the means to carry out a shooting at the synagogue, according to NLCS.
So report, Sanchez told a member of that synagogue that if he had another screw loose, he would go to the synagogue and shoot it up.
It was also reported that Sanchez offered to sell a firearm to a synagogue member.
Deputies arrested Sanchez Tuesday following a search warrant of his house.
During this search, detectives discovered a large amount of ammunition, gun cases, gun cleaning accessories but no firearms.
While further investigating deputies found a duffel bag at a family member's home that belonged to Sanchez Side that duffel bag detectives located four firearms, including an A K 47 style rifle.
Since Sanchez is a convicted felon, he's charged with possession of firearms and ammunition he attended.
He prayed, he studied.
He volunteered.
He helped out again look like a great guy, the rabbi of Shabaab Jovovich confirmed Sanchez was a member of the synagogue.
Even if we can say for sure something would have happened, something would have happened.

C s O says the threat is still under investigation, but they are working with the federal government to determine if Sanchez will face any federal charges in Fort Myers.
