But by the end of this tutorial, you will be far better prepared because I'm going to go through a number of worked examples live on the screen to help you prepare. And then I'm going to get you to try. Some wants to go through the video, so it's a bit of fun. You get to practice and improve as we go along. Now, before I get into those numerical reason test questions. A very warm welcome to this tutorial. My name is Richard, but one that's me in the center. The ball chap and I've been helping people to pass there psychometric tests and interviews for many years right here on YouTube. So please do subscribe by clicking the red button below the video. And I would also very much appreciate it if you gave the video of thumbs up. Thank you. Thank you very much. okay, straight into it. Question number one. Now I'm gonna start off on basic numerical level, and then we're gonna work up to get progressively harder as we go through the tutorial. So the question is, Lucy wants to buy some clothes. She spends £29 on a pair of shoes. £23 on address, £12 on a belt on dhe, £69 on a jacket. How much change will she have left? From £207? Is it a £59? Be £76 C £75 or D £74. Now this is called a multiple choice question. So you get a number of answer options on this will be pretty much the same as the numerical test that you will go through. So the important thing to remember we don't need to really worry about the additional information that's based around the question. So it doesn't matter about Lucy. It doesn't matter about what she's buying. It's the numbers on the calculation that are most important. So this is a basic addition and then subtraction calculation on. That's all we need to focus on. So that's a good tip is to always just focus on the numbers on the calculation. So if we add up those items 29 plus 12 plus 23 plus 69 we get a total off 133. Then all we need to do is subtract 207 minus +133 to get our answer. 74. So the first question the answer is D Okay, so it's a good tip. Don't waste time studying the information because you lose time. You are under time conditions. Do you really need to get down to the calculation? So let's get you practicing. One of now it's shorter. Please put your answer to Question two. That's coming up right now in the comments section below the video for marking so on the screen. I've put a timer here on the right inside. If you want to use a calculator, please feel free to do so. So the question is number two Mohammed by 16 bottles of water, each costing 75 pence. How much change will have from £32? 50 is a £12. Is it B £20? 55. Is it C £20.5 d £20 or e? None of these. Okay. The ABC dearie put your answer to question two below. Now I've got a time here on the right side. You have the time. It takes that time and to go down to answer the question. Here we go. Okay, So if you've got the answer in that time limit, you've done really well. You will get a bit more time than that during the real test. But I want to put you under a bit of pressure. If you need to pause the video just to make sure you get the calculation right and get the answer correct as I progress, please feel free to do that. Let's now try a different type of new miracle reasoning. Test question. That's increase it a little bit of difficulty. Question three. Susan walks a total of 45 kilometers over a five day period. On average. How many kilometers does she walk each day? Is it a 40 be five C nine or D 11 or E. None of the so to calculate the average. All we need to do is go 45 kilometers the distance divided by the number of days, which is five, and the answer is nine. Very, very simple. So to calculate the average, simply divide the distance by the number of days to get your answer. So now it's your turn. I've got this one. Please put your answer to question for in the comments section below the video for Market, and we use the same process as before with the timer with the same amount of time. So Mark runs a total of 91 miles over a seven day period on average. How many miles does he run? Each day? Is a 13 b 84 c 11 d 8.1 or e. None of these. Here's a time okay, well done. If you've got the answer, put down, too. Don't forget. Put it in. The comments section below will culminate each day, every day and market for you. So that's an average question. Let's now take a look. A different one. Let's get a little bit tougher. Different top of new miracle reasoning Test question. Here we go. Question five. A broadband package deal is currently on sale for £28 a month on a 12 month contract Now the sales person offers you a 15% discount. If you sign up today, what is the total price of the 12 month contract with the discounted rate? So what is the total price of the 12 month contract with the discounted rate is a £50.40. Be £285.96 C £50.4 d £176. 90. So how do we calculate its thes three stages? First of all, calculate the cost without the disco, so that would have to be a 12 month contracts of 12 months. Times £28 a month would equal 336 is £336. That's the total that's without the discount. Then we need to work out what the discount would be, so it's a 15% discount. So if we do 336 divided by 100 for 100% times the 15% discount, that gives us the total discount, which is £50 of four pence now, an important it you'll see there that one of the answer options is £50.40. or £50.4. That's to confuse you. That's not the answer. But some people would choose that. We now have to go one stage further, work out the cost with the discount. So then we go 336 minus £50.4. That gives us the answer of £285. 96 have done Get cored out with that second stage and think, Oh yes, £50.4. When you see it appear in the multiple choice options, right now, it's your turn. Please put your answer to question six in the comments section below the video for market. So this is a harder okay, so now we're really tried with start to ramp up the difficulty. Here we go. A gym membership costs £27 a month for a 12 month contract. However, if you sign up today, the sales representative is offering you a 12% discount. How much will you pay per month with the discount included? Is it a £38? 88 B, £324? See £23. 76 d £285.12 pencil e. None of these you have the time. It takes up time to go down to the bottom to put your answer in the comments section below. Here we go. Fantastic, well done. So we'll get in a bit hard now. I've got a couple more questions to go through. However, at some stage, if you want to get access to my free online psychometric test, we can practise loads of these numerical questions and other ones. Mechanical comprehension, spatial reasoning. Abstract reasoning is a link. Disappeared right there on the top right hand corner and get free 30 days access. Tow my online testing. Sweet, but let's get straight back. So those questions, let's take a look at another type of numerical reason. Texas is that this is a difficult. When you get this right, you're doing really well. Question seven. It takes Nicholas 30 minutes to walk one and 1/2 miles to work. At what pace does he walk? So what's the speed? So it takes Nicholas 30 minutes to walk one and 1/2 miles to work. Or what pace does he walk? Is it a three miles an hour? Be 30.75 miles now, See, for miles now or deep. Two miles now. So what we have to do? This is really, really important. With this kind of question, you have to convert the minutes to the hours. Okay, so 30 minutes is half an hour. It's no 300.5. That's really important. So 30 minutes to Nor 300.5 and then divide the distance by the time so the distance is one and 1/2 miles divided by nor 10.5. And that gives you the answer. Three miles an hour. It's a okay. Now it's your turn. Please put your answer to question eight in the comments section below the video for marking. Here we go. It takes Michelle 45 minutes to drive 24 miles to work. At what speed does she travel? Is it a 32 miles an hour? Be 18 miles now see 60 miles an hour or D, 69 miles per hour. And you got the time. It takes that to go down to answer the question. Okay. And if you got that one down in that time, I meet you doing tremendously well. Now I've got one more question. There is a deliberate mistake been made in this video. Tell me what the mistake is and put it in the comments section below. So there's a deliberate mistake but being made during the video, What is that mistake on the screen? Okay.
