  • Good morning, everyone.

  • Just taking my vitamins for the morning on Dhe realized I have a really weird way of taking them.

  • I eat the ones that I don't like first so that I finished the ones that taste the best.

  • So hair on makeup is done.

  • I've gone from my sleek bun.

  • I've been wearing so much recently.

  • I've got a dressing gown on so that I don't get anything down.

  • Me, I'm just loving my hair like this is a moment.

  • It's so easy to do.

  • So I thought I'd pop up.

  • My maxim are kind of outfit on a power suit.

  • Who's there?

  • No, but my rings on hold on.

  • But yeah, I Oh my gosh, I went to bed so early last night and I wake up six, feeling totally refreshed on like a new person.

  • I love love.

  • Love sleeps like that, even though, and I stayed up so late, usually I can't sleep unless he's in bed.

  • But I was out for the count Me in problem totally asleep.

  • Today I'm going down to London.

  • I'm doing a paddle with the Sunday Times style.

  • It's all about the modern day woman.

  • Female empowerment on dhe everything like that.

  • So it's gonna be really, really exciting, but totally out of what I ever thought would be kind of like my comfort zone.

  • I was never a public speaker when I was younger.

  • I never did any of the things that I now quite happily do in my job on Dhe today, I've partnered up with only which is such an incredible opportunity.

  • Me, Ole is such an iconic brand.

  • My mom and I used it so much throughout our lives on I use it so much today as we have seen, I love their total effects on their new only whips.

  • So for me to be able to partner on such a cool campaign like this with such a great message is pretty darn epic.

  • So this is their face, anything campaign on.

  • Basically, it's the perfect kind of opportunity for me to talk to you about things I've had to overcome.

  • The things that I felt that kind of held me back and I had to push through my fears that I faced because one of the things that I always encountered in my life is people telling me, Lydia, you're you're too driven you're you're too focused on your career on dhe.

  • I always thought that that was quite a positive thing.

  • I've kind of had Thio overcome that on overcome what people said on the negative connotations that people gave that and see the positive that it is.

  • And now I run multiple businesses on dhe.

  • I have such an amazing life that I've built for myself on DDE.

  • Being driven is the one thing that got me there.

  • But there were things that I wasn't really very good at along the way.

  • So public speaking, being one of them, and I found myself with so many opportunities in its job to do panels and connect with people and give talks at my meet ups on dhe, I really had to grow my confidence in that area, and now I actually kind of take in my stride.

  • Today's panel is out of my comfort zone.

  • Usually I go and speak about blogging on what I do in my career, but today is all about female empowerment, so it's definitely gonna be a new spin on how I do public speaking.

  • But I'm really, really looking forward to it, but I always think that social media makes this job look like it's just a walk in the park and you never really see the things that go on behind the scenes.

  • So I'm gonna try in this bloc to give you as much of an insight into all of the things that I've had to learn along the way in order to be able to do.

  • This is my job because it's so much more than just taking pretty pictures on walking around with a camera.

  • It's not one of those careers where I'm saving lives or, you know, I'm not a doctor or anything, but it's an amazing job that I feel like a lot of people don't know about.

  • And people don't know about the things that I've had.

  • Thio learned to do the fears.

  • Oh my gosh, we all know about my flying fear.

  • I fly so much for work and I really had Thio kind of learn to deal with that and overcome it so that I can continue to do this job at the level that I do it.

  • So first off, I'm literally taking you with me to this panel today and I'm really, really excited about it.

  • I'm really excited for you to see kind of the nerves.

  • That how I deal with them in the background on then also the execution.

  • So you get to literally see me overcoming one of the things that kind of held me back in the beginning on Dhe.

  • Then hopefully I can show you a little bit more about This is just basically about how I face anything in my career, which I just think is such a great little way to give context.

  • Do you?

  • Seeing a little bit more of what goes on behind the scenes on how I've got to where I am today is quite positive thing.

  • So, yeah, I'm gonna quickly show you my outfits.

  • I know my taxi is on the way and I'm off to meet my best friend, Carrie.

  • You're already know we're heading down to London for the day for a panel with the Sunday Times style on Dhe Carolina Herrera, who is a really, really, really famous designer on.

  • Also, she's got her own line of fragrances, So let's go.

  • So I've gone up for my Max Mara, Prince of Wales check kind of two piece outfit, but it looks like a one piece on Dhe.

  • I love it so much because not only is it comfortable, but also looks super chic on Dhe like a styled edge as well.

  • So it's not too formal.

  • I've done a pop of color with she.

  • So I've gone for some coral Manolo Blahnik Hang GC shoes, and these are beautiful.

  • These are actually comfortable because I went half a size up.

  • So maybe that's what I need to do with my handy sees to make them more comfortable on.

  • Then I've gone for my Christian Dior, pretty bag like this one, just to dress it down again a little bit more.

  • But I'm loving my hair and makeup and I'm loving my outfit.

  • So I am going Thio, grab myself a road snack.

  • Andi head out.

  • But I'm really, really excited for today.

  • I know when I get there, I'll get my usual nerves, which make me just feel like I want to run back home.

  • But once I've done it, I mean, I'm so glad I did that.

  • So glad.

  • So, yeah, this is one of the things I realized it's always gonna happen on.

  • I kind of just have to embrace that feeling of nerves because I know that it's only because I want to do a really, really good job.

  • It's not because I think I'm gonna fail because all I have to do is go up there and be myself.

  • So it's quite a good realization to realize that I'm you know, it's not a bad thing to feel nerves on.

  • I just have to kind of embrace those on dhe, use them to my advantage and use them.

  • Thio obviously make me do better, which is good.

  • I have quickly just popped this white jigsaw coat over the top because it looks quite cold outside.

  • So just not getting ahead of myself and thinking that I could go out with my arm just hanging out like that.

  • I've gone for this white coat, which is really nice.

  • Actually, it's structured, but it's actually like an old season, so I don't think you'll be able to buy it.

  • But nevertheless Hi, everyone.

  • We've arrived at the Me hotel on Dhe.

  • No nerves just yet, but we are waiting for everyone else to get here a little pee head with me.

  • Oh, my God.

  • It's right.

  • Yeah.

  • You're under a beam of light angels shining down on you.

  • Yes, we got here a little birdie.

  • We just sat in the private dining space in S T K on.

  • Got a couple of hours until the panel the panels don't see Yes, the panels onto six.

  • But we're just, like getting to know all of the other people on the panel on what we're gonna be doing.

  • They've also got the most beautiful event upstairs in the most beautiful space thing I've ever seen.

  • So if I get a chance to go back up there in a bit, I'm going to show you it.

  • It was stunning, absolutely stunning, but yes.

  • Just gonna be chilling out with people I've never met.

  • So people like Sarah just still coming on, obviously carrying around herself.

  • So we're also gonna be getting today, then.

  • Andi, I'm gonna be on the panel with, um, talking all about female empowerment on Dhe.

  • Hopefully keep it together, and I push myself out of my comfort zone on dhe.

  • I don't get too nervous if I can actually see you guys right now.

  • It's so sunny.

  • I am at the most amazing penthouse apartment right now.

  • I'm at the me hotel on dhe.

  • Oh, my goodness.

  • Look at this view.

  • I cannot get over It lets you take my breath away.

  • Wow.

  • So I've had such an amazing morning on.

  • I met with all of the other lovely ladies that were doing the panel.

  • So I met with Kate Silverton on dhe Carolina Herrera on dhe.

  • Sarah jostle, and we basically just got to know each other before you feel a little bit of a report on.

  • We were talking for, like, two and 1/2 hours, which was amazing.

  • So it was really, really loved in such a lovely start today.

  • And I feel a lot better now about, like, the panel and nerves and stuff.

  • And I feel that there's always just that one thing that kind of flips it for you, isn't it?

  • When you put the nerves and then you just feel a little bit more comfortable, and then you could just feel like you go with it.

  • Although saying that we're not doing the panel just yet, so I could get to that point on.

  • I feel quite nervous, but the moment I am just taking in this gorgeous penthouse, I believe it.

  • Well, huh?

  • Anyway, I'm gonna get on.

  • I'm gonna shoot some picks up here on get on with the day Basically.

  • No, no, just drive down sentences.

  • Wait, wait.

  • Did you get Did you get like that?

  • Yeah.

  • So this is the space that I was telling you about.

  • This is where I came earlier and Oh, my goodness.

  • Look incredible.

  • It is.

  • And it's all set up now.

  • I'm just ready.

  • Thio.

  • Mike, check now.

  • These are the bags with people.

  • That what?

  • Tickets on.

  • I think that's probably where we're gonna be sitting just there.

  • But it looks so beautiful.

  • Team pressure wasn't on before.

  • It is on.

  • And I thought that bit that line, there was hair on my head and I get it.

  • Yeah, I've got my Khan now ready to go.

  • No, no, but maybe I'll get nervous about that.

  • You should get, like, a dry mouth, but it's fine.

  • I'm doing it anyway.

  • I'm not letting the fear dictate what I'm doing today, so that will be good.

  • But we just had a really great photo shoot upstairs as well.

  • In amazing space.

  • Beautiful.

  • You ready?

  • I feel a little bit of us know a little bit, but I'll get it.

  • I'll be fine, Thanks.

  • What about you?

  • I find that my confidence is growing most like that's what I like.

  • Notice it so much.

  • I think that's when I was 18 years old, like that one.

  • I just have a whole different perspective, even walking into every room full of people that when a it's just experience was down.

  • Wait, possibly wait.

  • Just wait.

  • Just wait, wait, wait.

  • Hi, everyone, as you can see, is the most glorious day today.

  • The weather is absolutely changing, but I'm just like catching up with you after the event the other day and just kind of have a debrief.

  • Really.

  • I had such a great day, and it was so amazing to speak with so many amazing women on just be apart, something that's just so positive on conversations that are sort of changing the face and the landscape for women everywhere.

  • So it's really cool to be like part of those continued conversations on with such incredible women as well.

  • I really it was such a pleasure to get to know all of them and yeah, it's a good day, but did just make me realize, like, obviously, when I'm talking about overcoming things, I'm definitely not talking about, like, overcoming hard times.

  • And obviously that's a completely different thing.

  • I'm or cup talking about overcoming the things that I could very easily let it hold me back in everyday life and in my career on hold me back from the things they're really gonna propel me forward on dhe Keep me moving towards my goal.

  • So honestly, I think back like a few years ago, and I think to the times when I would say no to trips and not going away on press trips because I was so scared of flying on DDE where I would be now I wouldn't have been to some of the most amazing places in the world, but I wouldn't have experienced and met some of the most amazing people in the world on DDE.

  • That is just like the thought of that is something that I can't even comprehend.

  • I just couldn't even imagine it.

  • And then obviously being able to now get up on stage on dhe, talk about subjects that affect me on a daily basis that affect my peers that affect the changes that are happening in the world.

  • It's really, really something to be able to be a part of those.

  • And if I had it my way, I probably would have let myself be held back by my fear of standing up and speaking in front of people.

  • My fear of looking stupid or not looking perfect.

  • Andi, all of those fears that kind of very easily on dhe.

  • Sometimes you're not even aware that they're taking over.

  • I'm making you say no to things that you would normally say yesterday, and that is something that just blows my mind that I could have easily let that happen on Dhe.

  • I could not have done that then, and I could have not been apart such a positive panel on Dhe yet.

  • I didn't I didn't let it help me back on DDE.

  • I face those fears and every time it come becomes a little bit easier on Dhe.

  • I'm really proud of myself, really proud of myself.

  • No, I'm not moving mountains in terms of other people's lives on the world's with these subjects I'm talking to you about, but I am making waves in my own world on making positive changes in my own world on that is really, really important to me, Rooney.

  • Important to me, even just looking back at the footage of me whilst I was doing the photo shoots with Cal and Kyle Galvin and I look at the confidence that I was like putting forward in those photo shoots and I think back to when I started my block on dhe.

  • I didn't have any of that.

  • I had no confidence on dhe.

  • It's almost like especially women are, like, programmed that if you want to pose in a photograph or if you want to, you know, put your best foot forward, your vain or your self absorbed or your shallow or you black substance just because you want to look good in the picture.

  • And I almost feel like this generation of bloggers and new tubers and creators that are putting themselves in front of the camera on DDE, talking about makeup and talking about looking good and feeling good.

  • And all of those things are hopefully changing that because it's becoming a lot more normal on something that we're seeing very often just on the streets.

  • When you're walking around, you see girls, even if they're not bloggers, their friends, a download, taking their pictures on celebrating them, wanting to look their best on get a picture where they look great and celebrating that.

  • I think that that's so important.

  • But that confidence has come from me pushing myself thio get better on Dhe know, letting the sneers that I've had over the years Is that the right word snooze, the jeers, What whatever is when people make remarks and what part?

  • Because I still get it now, even though I've been doing this is my job for however many years that will still be people that will pass me or that look at me that make comments that along with she's so full of herself on All I'm doing is posing for a picture on dhe.

  • I still puff out my chest and take it on the chin, and I don't let that person or those people ruin my confidence, because if I did, I would let the fear of looking stupid and feeling stupid.

  • Hold me back on.

  • That is why facing anything on DDE not letting myself on my own fears hold myself back is something I'm so grateful that I embraced more off, and even though it might have been love it slow in places like I might have needed to take a little bit more time.

  • Like with flying and stuff, I still was able to push through on DDE, allow myself to still experience things and not miss out just because I was frightened or worried or felt like I wasn't good enough.

  • Yeah, just It was really it was quite proud moment, media in that panel, I really enjoyed it and I felt like watching one of the footage back.

  • I was that God, we've come such a long way such a long way and maybe that comes down to the fact that I'm too driven.

  • So many people have said in my life, but I don't think that that's a negative thing on wanting Thio be successful and have a career on DDE.

  • Be your own kind of cheerleader is is a good thing.

  • I think that that's a good thing on.

  • It's probably a part of my personality that I'm not as comfortable celebrating that I am that kind of person that wants to do well.

  • I do want to be successful.

  • I do want to make a name for myself in whatever career that is.

  • I choose.

  • Even if I was working in a supermarket, I would want to be the best at that jobs I could possibly be on that applies in this job.

  • And let me is moaning at me.

  • What, you wanna go interrupting my flow of being a positive panda Ni winky?

  • No.

  • Anyway, she is always interrupting me.

  • There's always one little Malvo in the background going a game here.

  • But I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't let yourself be the one thing that holds you back.

  • There are so many things that we have to face every day on Dhe.

  • Don't let yourself be one of them.

  • So yeah, I have enjoyed this video and still pep talk as well.

  • This is very unlike me in a vlog, usually of me just making fun of myself.

  • But this is such a nice campaign to be a part of, and was such a great message that I feel really lucky to have been apartment.

  • So I hope you've enjoyed it.

  • Andi, I hope you have enjoyed seeing me step a little bit out of my comfort zone as well, because I am thoroughly enjoying speaking in public a lot more on DDE during one of the things that I thought I never would basically.

  • So, yeah, if you like this video, please do you hit the subscribe button down below?

  • I would love to have you back for more videos.

  • It is so amazing to have so many of you here on dhe.

  • It means a lot to me that you come back to watch on def.

  • You did.

  • Obviously like this particular type of video.

  • Please do give it a thumbs up as well.

  • Because I enjoyed making it.
