  • had overrun and welcome to another video.

  • Now, the other day, I came across a pretty interesting listing online.

  • It was a PC that I was pretty certain I was familiar with on after a couple of minutes of investigating, it seems I was correct.

  • See, the person selling this HP workstation Ashamed was the same person who bought it off of me a few months ago, and when I sold it to them, it featured the core two duo E 8400 a couple of gigs of RAM and a 250 gig hard drive.

  • I sold it for about £30 a reasonable price I feel for basic machine that could probably handle Internet browsing just fine and a few basic office applications.

  • What's interesting is when I saw this PC relisted, it was described as slightly different, having a court I 56 50 a GTX graphics card and eight gigs of Ram.

  • So how did I know it was mine?

  • Apart from the fact it was for sale on the same low feedback seller accounts well before I send anything off my record serial numbers for safety and lost purposes and keep them in a spreadsheet.

  • I'd advise any of you selling online to do the same.

  • When I noticed the serial number in one of the photos, which I presume was taken because it's written on the same sticker as the model number, I compared this to the one I had on record the user name of the cellar.

  • I recognized anyway because I remember thinking at the time, How were they allowed to use that?

  • It was quite rude.

  • Or at least I thought it was when the numbers matched by first, though oh, cool, they've upgraded it.

  • But when I saw a couple of photos from the back of the machine, things just didn't add up.

  • The back plate looked the same as the standard HP one, and there isn't a single core I five process that on the market that would run on the socket 775 platform.

  • When it came to the graphics card, I sent it off with an old GT 2 40 a perfect yet aging card for basic office work.

  • It looked as though that was still in there as well, but I had to dig a little deeper.

  • After all, the GT 2 40 isn't a card I would exactly described as very fast as titled Now, to make it obvious it wasn't May trying to re buy back the machine I had previously sold.

  • I looked into my grandparent's account on asked the cellar a few questions.

  • After all, the seller said he was open.

  • So sending a few benchmark figures for the message existence I opened with Hello.

  • I was wondering if you could send me a fortnight and GT a five benchmark, please, because I know you guys like to see those games tested.

  • The immediate response.

  • I got laws.

  • Yes, both games will run fine at High 60 f.

  • P s.

  • I then asked, Could you be more specific about the graphics card?

  • You said it was a GTX, but what GTX is it?

  • He said It's a two gig in video GTX card.

  • After that, I thought, Yes, something's not quite right here, so I bought the PC back when I fight it up.

  • I was not surprised to see that it wasn't quite as the seller had described.

  • It seems a few scammers are out at the moment.

  • Just the other day, I set off a course seven process, sir, and the buyer claimed it never arrived.

  • Unfortunate.

  • But these things happen.

  • There was also another problem.

  • I couldn't get the side door off.

  • It was jammed on.

  • It was like it had been welded on to stop me from opening up.

  • I pulled it.

  • I hit it a couple of times out frustration and nothing I would do Got this thing to open up.

  • So I thought, Well, we won't be taking a look inside.

  • We'll just have to see what the specs are from the control panel.

  • I can't understand why this person would temper with the side door in anyway, because you don't have to see the components to know what's inside.

  • Device Manager is a wonderful thing.

  • I decided to savor this moment.

  • No end as your star in the intro.

  • I tried to start a couple of games regardless, which would not launch, considering the GT 2 40 has no direct X 11 support, I think we can all agree that year that GT 2 40 is still inside here, not this mysterious to gig GTX card we were promised.

  • With that said, I fired up far cry three on older title that started up just fine, albeit at 7 20 p.

  • With the game selecting the low precept, we were able to achieve 30 f p s back.

  • Not much more.

  • Unfortunately, what's funny is that fortnight should also be able to run on a duty to 40 considering it runs on an old and 9600 g t a similar performing card, but not with the high settings nor 60 frames per second and certainly not with an 8400 CPU.

  • My anticipation could wait no more.

  • And sure enough, I jumped into device Manager to find the same old specs.

  • I did, however, get an extra gig of Ram.

  • I think I sold this with three.

  • Maybe no.

  • Huh?

  • I'm sorry.

  • This probably hasn't been much of an entertaining or helpful video, but I felt like I needed to make it as the used market can sometimes be a little more.

  • Let's say creative during the festive period.

  • I mean, I don't think the by I had to exaggerate quite so much.

  • They probably could have got away with just saying a GTX card and keeping the other specs the same.

  • But not many people are going to buy and e 8400 based system these days.

  • I shouldn't think unless they buy it for the reason that I sold it for use as a basic office machine.

  • I hope whoever is watching this that sold it to me sold it back to me.

  • Sorry.

  • I hope that whoever you are out there who sold it back to me, I actually know your name.

  • Of course, because you bought it from in the first place.

  • But I hope you're a kid.

  • And I hope you see this and realize that you're not gonna get very far with these sorts scams.

  • You may get a quick bit of cash before Christmas, but chances are you're gonna end up having to refund everyone and eventually getting banned for most online sale places.

  • But with that said, thank you for watching if you enjoy this video, I'm talking to all of you now, not just the person that some of this back to me, by the way they like on it.

  • Leave it this like if you didn't subscribe to the channel, if you haven't done so already and we'll get back to normal in an X video.

  • So thank you.
