Alex Trebek is continuing to update us on his ongoing cancer battle revealing that he’s unfortunately had a health setback and is undergoing chemotherapy once again. The ‘Jeopardy’ host, who back in March made the shocking announcement that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer, had returned to work on the game show recently after receiving cancer treatment. Trebek opened up in an interview that aired Tuesday on ‘Good Morning America’ saying "I was doing so well. And my numbers went down to the equivalent of a normal human being who does not have pancreatic cancer. So we were all very optimistic.” But the host went on to say that his health took a turn when he lost 12 pounds in a week. "My numbers went sky high. Much higher than they were when I was first diagnosed. So, the doctors have decided that I have to undergo chemo again, and that’s what I’m doing." Trebek went on to explain how his diagnosis causes him "excruciating pain" and "fatigue" has caused him to feel and at times "depression" and a "surge of sadness." ”I didn’t realize how fallible each of us is, in his or her own way. I just experience it, I know that it’s part of who I am, and I’m going to just keep going." When asked how he feels about his mortality, Trebek insisted that he isn't scared of death saying he’s enjoyed and had a good life. ”I realize that there is an end in sight for me, just as there is for everyone else. The thought of passing on doesn’t frighten me. It doesn't." Trebek is currently taping ‘Jeopardy!'s 36th season, which premiered Sept. 9.
