"The Mandalorian's" glorious finale brought the premiere season of the first ever live action Star Wars TV series to an end just before the new year. And for the first time since before the release of 1999's "The Phantom Menace," the Star Wars fandom seemed united in wholeheartedly enjoying something set in the galaxy far, far away. It was truly a Life Day miracle. So, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that this series would get a second season, even before series creator, writer and producer, Jon Favreau confirmed on social media that season two of "The Mandalorian" would be a go for Fall 2020. And, while Favreau did give us a small taste of what to expect with this picture of a statuette of a Gamorrean. You know, the "Green Eggs and Ham" Star Wars species? It's that explosive finale and holy (beep) final moment of the episode that has fans salivating over what's to come. So let's gather up and break down all of the information we know about season two of the Mando right now, and infer what we can. Also, in case you haven't seen it yet, spoilers for "The Mandalorian" chapter eight, or if you've seen it already, please use this time to like and subscribe. - We all will be quiet. - Okay, first thing's first. Let's get to what we all wanna hear about, whenever we talk about "The Mandalorian." - I would like to see the baby. - The wee baby Yoda! Look, we know that season two's gonna feature enough of the wee baby Yodes to fill our heart's content, so we can fill your hearts with our content. The first season ended with the Mandalorian literally becoming baby Yoda's legal dad! Because, this is the way of the Mandalorians. And in season two, it sounds like they're gonna reveal the real name for the wee baby Yoda. That's right, IG-11 voice actor and Mandalorian director Taika Waititi revealed during this weekend's Golden Globes, that he knows that old ass 50 year old baby's real name, and it isn't baby Yoda. But he's not just gonna tell us like Pedro Pascal did with Din Djarin in a random interview. No, he's gonna leave it up to Jon Favreau to reveal the wee baby Yoda's real name. And honestly, that's a relief to hear, this is all planned out, and isn't just some like, smoke monster "Lost" bull (beep). Yeah! I'm still mad about it. Now we also know that old Din Djarin's gonna try to find the wee baby Yoda's homeworld, a planet of presumed force users, which might not go great because Mandalorians and Jedi are ancient enemies. I mean, their enmity goes back a long way. And while Yoda species aren't all Jedi in hiding, we suspect that the Mandalorian harboring a force sensitive child might cause some friction. Especially since, as we saw in chapter eight of "The Mandalorian," Din was possibly rescued and raised by Death Watch Mandalorians who, really, really dislike Jedi and even allied themselves with Darth Maul for a while, after he killed their last leader and took 'em over. Now all of this is laid out in the animated "Clone War" series and when it returns in February, the new season's gonna be all about the siege of Mandalore during the Clone Wars. So we can expect to learn a lot more Star lore that'll deepen our understanding of the Manda-lore in series. Now it turns out that Mand-lore is pretty awesome and thankfully Mandalorian historian, Dave Filoni, is helping to guide this series. And speaking of deep Mando-lore, we're gonna get a lot more of it in "The Mandalorian" second season, based off the finale's stunning final image of Moff Gideon, standing amidst the wreckage of a TIE fighter, wielding the Darksaber. Now the Darksaber is a relic created by the only Mandalorian Jedi ever to join the Jedi Order, Tarre Vizsla. The fact that Moff Gideon has it now, means that he either killed the former Mandalorian leader Bo Katan during the Mandalorian purge, which means Din Djarin needs to avenge her, or she's gonna be back and super pissed in season two. Either option's gonna be pretty cool to watch. And if you wanna know more, stay tuned for an upcoming episode of Explainiac. Now, could this mean the former foundling, Din Djarin might use the Darksaber, perhaps as a symbol to unite the disparate Mandalorian clans and cohorts, and become their leader? Well, it's possible, but seems like a lot for a season that already has an awful lot going on, so maybe that's something for down the road in future seasons. But what about the rest of Din Djarin's crew? Well, Carl Weathers, who plays the bounty hunter guild member Greef Carga, tweeted that he'll be involved with the second season. But he's not the only familiar face that we're gonna see. Deadline reported that insiders claim some characters from the Skywalker saga are set to appear in season two. However, don't expect them to be major characters, unless we're gonna see a lot of digital de-aging, but rather, consider them to be characters who have their faces covered or maybe ones that are all aliens. What I'm trying to say is Watto's back, baby! (Watto groans) Folks, this means like all the bounty hunters from "Empire Strikes Back." Since the Mandalorian's back in good standing with the bounty hunter's guild, maybe, just maybe, he's gonna team up with the likes of Bossk or Zuckuss or 4 Lom, IG-88, or Dengar, that mummy (beep). In fact, in current Star Wars canon, we know that Dengar is still bounty hunting at the time of the "Aftermath" novels. And, it's even being speculated that he is alive in "The Rise of Skywalker," hiding out under the name Rothgar Deng, according to the visual dictionary. (sighs) These names never get any better. Rothgar Deng, private eye, bounty hunting at your pleasure. Plus we still don't know who they were teasing, approaching the body of Fennec Shand at the end of chapter five. Now we still think the boot jingles hint that it might be Boba Fett and it would definitely be the Skywalker saga characters that fans would most want to see. But another bit worth mentioning is that the Mandalorian is searching for baby Yoda's home world. That means there's another person lurking that might want to know the same thing. Specifically the Phantom Menace himself. I'm talking about the Senate, the man who smashed, Sheev Palpatine. He's recuperating in a jar of goo, building the Sith fleet on Exegol in the unknown regions. Who knows what he's up to? We still don't really know how he survived getting shafted in "Return of the Jedi," but we wouldn't be surprised if the presumably Midichlorian-rich baby Yoda and his species might play some sort of part in his survival. We'll just have to wait and see when "The Mandalorian" season two drop on Disney Plus, this fall. But what do you folks think? What do you wanna see most in season two of "The Mandalorian?" - I would like to see the baby. - And who are the Skywalker saga characters you most want to see? Also, what's the baby Yoda's real name? And why is it, is it really a baby Yoda? Let's discuss. Thank you so much for watching.
