Oh, sometimes there's just nothing in there, and we just have it there just to throw people off. All right. Because that wouldn't be good. Somebody would get hurt, man, if something popped up out of here. Just-- yeah. One day, somebody is going to get hurt. We're going to do it until someone does. OK. [LAUGHS] Yes, I love it. No, there's been many times that people have just like pulled back and almost-- No, that's-- that would be my natural reaction. Is that how you react when you're scared, you automatically punch? Yes. Not flight for me. It's fight. Uh huh. Immediately fight. Just go in with everything you've got. Just go. [SCREAMING] Everything. Just go. Just go. Screaming and punching. As Madea. [BOTH SCREAMING] As Madea. As Madea. For sure. For sure. So you don't like scary movies or anything like that. Nope. Nope, don't do that. Oh. No, nothing that makes me jump and things like that. No, because I-- no, I spend a lot of time alone. That's not good. Uh huh. That's not good. Right. It's really fun though. And it's good for-- it's cardio. No. No. It's cardio. Yeah. It's cardiac arrest is what it is. That's what it is. When it goes too far, yes. It's good to see you. And you literally just got a star on the Walk of Fame. A couple-- like two hours ago. Yeah. [CHEERING AND APPLAUSE] Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. That was-- it's surreal. So surreal. I think-- might I say long, long past due. You should have had a star-- I mean, it's great that you have, but I mean with all you've accomplished, I mean, this is-- it's about time. I appreciate that. Thank you. No, seriously. Thank you. But they didn't make me feel like a star. Because in the next moment right after this, we're taking this picture and the photographer's here, and Kerry Washington walks past and they're like, Tyler! Kerry! Kerry! [INAUDIBLE] But I wish they could zoom in on my face. Look at her as she's walking past. It's just like, well now, would you get out of the way the, girl? Yeah. [TYLER LAUGHS] So good. My star. So good. That's right. That's right. That's right. Well, congratulations. Thank you. Thank you very much. And you also-- you recently turned 50. Yes. When is that? September 14th. September 14th. Happy birthday. Thank you. Thank you. Well, a couple weeks ago. [CHEERING AND APPLAUSE] Now, is that a big one? I mean, do you care about age. Do you care about that number? I-- you know, I don't. I think my body does, but I don't really care about it. Right. But no. No, it's a good one. I was in Italy and the they said, you know, let's go and let's hike Cinque Terre. I thought, OK, great, wonderful. Let's go on this nice hike. So they told me it's 40 minutes from just one town to the next. Nice leisurely. No, I get up there, and it's-- the actual path that Jesus trod. You know what I mean? The pathways are this narrow, and I'm six foot six and like 280. I'm a big guy, right? And you've got all these little European people backing up against the wall to let me past. They think I'm going to push them over or something. No, that's what we did. Well, happy birthday to you. And so that's a-- did you have any other big celebration or that was it. That was it. I just-- I took-- grabbed a couple of friends, three friends and we went down to Italy and had a good time. Didn't do a whole bunch. You got to be so proud of your accomplishments in your life. Because really-- and that's the thing, I think, when we hit-- we should do it every age not just the big ones. But to look back and go, look what I've accomplished. I mean, it's incredible. I mean, you should be really proud of yourself. Thank you. Thank you. You know the thing that gives me the most joy is thinking that my mother would be proud. So yes. Thinking that she if she were alive, she would be proud. That gives me the most joy just making her proud. I'm sure she still is proud. I'm sure she's with you. Thank you. And you have a place in-- your place is in Wyoming? Yeah, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. And you saw-- what did you see recently in your yard? You know, I was going to build this house, and like great, I can do so much writing here. It's so beautiful. I can sit out in the backyard. And I was getting ready to go out and read my new book. And go out there and open the door, and there's a bear sitting in the backyard. Not just a little bear, a grizzly bear. A big bear. Big bear in the backyard. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. So I said, you can have it. You were here first. So I'm gonna go back to Atlanta, and I'll come back when you're hibernating. Right. That's amazing. Yeah. Well, you're going to-- I mean, you're bound to see-- that's the first time you've seen a bear in your yard in Wyoming? That's the first time I've seen-- yeah, well, bear, moose, things like that we saw. But yeah, a bear, I mean, that's like they kill you, they eat you kind of thing. Well, yes. If you bother them. I don't think they're going to kill you for no reason. But if you walk up to them. If you try to scare them. No. If they jumped out of a box or something. Is that what you're trying to tell me? No, no, no. My whole thing is this. You were here first. I get it. I'm not going to bother you. I'm going to stay over here. And if you want the backyard, that's fine. That fire pit that I built, spent all that money for, you go right ahead. It's all yours, buddy. Right. Beer in the fridge. Good for you. You're right to say that. Yeah. Now, what is the weirdest thing you've seen in Wyoming. Oh, another black person. Oh. Yeah. [CHEERING AND APPLAUSE] Yes, weirdest thing. Wow. Weirdest thing. Rare. Rare. Very rare. Wow. And it wasn't Kanye. No. And it wasn't Kanye. It wasn't Kanye. Yeah. So there's another black person besides you and Kanye there. There are two others, yes. OK. Yes. And we see each other and we go, hey, black person! Like, hey, black person! What are you doing here? Oh, I'm just here. [LAUGHS] And I'm telling you, man, I try to blend in. I'm six foot 6", you know, just trying to blend in. I put on my cowboy hat and my-- you know, I put on all of the stuff that they wear and my plaid and everything. Look at me. Look at me. It doesn't work. They still know. It's like, you're still a big black man in Jackson Hole. It doesn't matter what you've got on. What you got on. It's beautiful though. All right. Let's talk about the shows. Yes. We just showed a clip from The Oval. And you have another show on there also, Sistas. Sistas. Yes. And what is that one about? It's about four women dating and just this whole millennial dating, Instagram, Facebook world, this social media world. And I have all these beautiful women that work for me that are single, and I started hearing some of their stories just sometimes at lunch. I was like this has got to be a show. And I've got these amazing actresses just going through their lives about dating these days, man. It's-- ooh, it's hard for a lot of people. Yeah. 00:05:40,500 --> 00:05:41,050 Yes. So there's that. And then The Oval, which is obviously about people who work in-- it's not about really the presidency, it's about people who work in the Oval Office. Yeah, I didn't want to do political drama. I wanted to follow the president, the first family up to the-- their residence. I don't know why that's so interesting all of a sudden to want to know what they're doing. Uh huh. [ELLEN LAUGHS] But-- but I-- and then I follow the Secret Service home. I follow the chief of staff home. So we follow everybody into their lives outside of politics. So it's not a political show, it's just drama not based on anything. No real life or nothing. Just-- No. No. Just fun. Second season maybe, but not the first season. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. That's right. And you also-- I have to thank you for the invitation you sent for your studios that you're open-- well you've had that open for a while, but man, this is a big thing now. You've got like the name of all of the buildings are named after people that you admire. Yeah. Yeah. There are 12 sound stages, and I'm naming them after people who have paved the way in this business who've inspired me, like Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Will Smith, you know, Cicely Tyson, John Singleton. You know, just all the things that they've done. So all the stages are being dedicated to them this weekend in the party. So it's going to be awesome. How many stages are there? 12. It's amazing. Yeah. [APPLAUSE] And I know we're out of time, but I just-- this is pretty amazing. So there's a sign on the freeway that says to Tyler Perry Studios next to this. And that is significant because? Sylvan Road is where I lived when I first moved to Atlanta, off of Sylvan Road. Homeless, struggling, trying to figure it out when I first moved there. And to have my name on the sign next to it, that-- it-- I can't-- see, it takes me a while to take all that in. That's a lot. Yeah. That's a lot. I'm so grateful. [APPLAUSE] That's amazing. So grateful. Yeah. That's amazing.
