字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Proverbs 111. The proverb today is "Rome wasn't built in a day. Okay. Let's take a look at the note. If someone says Rome wasn't built in a day it means that important hard work takes time and a great deal of effort and that if you want to do it right. It should not be rushed. Okay. Let's continue. The earliest sighting was from a collection. A collection of French proverbs called " Li Proverbe Au Vilain. " Maybe I hope I pronounced that right. In 1190. Let's go on. Number one. Trying to turn around this economy. All right. The first example here. Needs to be done in increments. You know, in small amounts. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. So again you try to stress that you can't do it all at once. You can't be rushed. You have to do it in small parts. To do this little thing first. Do that little thing first. Do that little thing and then eventually you know, all these things together will really make it start to turn around. Okay. Let's look at number two. Learning a foreign language takes a lot of continuous effort and practice. Don't worry. You are making progress. Rome wasn't built in a day. So this is another way that we might use it. It's a perfect example. All right. Number three here. Trying to turn around that company took time. That CEO took it from near bankruptcy. So it almost went bankrupt. It almost went out of business and made it into one of the most prosperous. You know one of the most successful in the industry. It took him ten years to do it. So he didn't do it immediately. You know, and took him a little while. But remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Okay this is just the way we would use it. Anyway, I hope you got it. I hope it was clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
