  • Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Verb Phrase 135. The verb phrase today is to

  • bottle up. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. Here's number one. If someone

  • bottles something up, he or she puts something into a bottle or stores it in

  • a bottle. So you can physically bottle up something by putting something inside

  • the bottle and sealing it up. Then we could say you could bottle up something

  • or number two here. The second one. If someone bottles up an emotion or bad

  • feeling, they hold them and don't allow them to

  • be expressed openly. So you could you could bottle up a lot of bad feelings

  • inside you. All right. So let's let's look at some examples here. The first one goes

  • to the first example here. This one is the one where you physically put

  • something in a bottle.You bottle it up. So number one here. Every six months her

  • mother bottles up some homemade wine. So maybe she makes her own wine and she

  • just leaves it there. You know, maybe you know, it needs time to you know turn into

  • Number three. You need to talk to someone. You know maybe a counselor or something

  • like that. You should, you should see a counselor. If you continue to keep these

  • emotions bottled up you may end up having a nervous breakdown. All right . That's

  • another way that people may say it. So especially bad feelings or bad emotions

  • if you don't talk about it or talk to someone or let them out , we say that

  • somebody's keeping something bottled up. Remember, if they bottle up, eventually

  • they may blow or they may have breakdown or something like that. Anyway
