  • (upbeat instrumental music)

  • This is like a Taiwanese classic.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • Literal translation is big sausage

  • wrapped around small sausage.

  • Wow.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • The big sausage is made of glutenous rice.

  • The sausage on the inside is your normal meat sausage.

  • So it's essentially a double sausage sandwich.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • He just said to peel it like a banana.

  • Big sausage wrapped around little sausage.

  • - [Skyler] Look at that garlic, ooh yeah.

  • - It smells so good!

  • Mm!

  • The sausage is crispy on the outside

  • and tender on the inside.

  • The garlic, there's like super flavorful.

  • Also the rice is really good, too.

  • It's very filling.

  • This is an Asian hot dog.

  • It's so crowded.

  • - [Skyler] Yup, people mountain people sea.

  • - So we're lining up for the squid.

  • - It's my favorite.

  • - [Inga] They broil the squid

  • then they shake it in the bag like crazy.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • Look at that, it looks so good!

  • - [Skyler] It smells so good.

  • It is spicy.

  • - It's a look of pain.

  • It's so good.

  • - [Skyler] Have a taste of your own medicine.

  • - It's not spicy.

  • Weak!

  • Weak!

  • (groovy music)

  • It's chicken and cheese.

  • Look at that.

  • Oh my cactus juice!

  • I didn't even know cactus could make juice.

  • - Oh yes.

  • - [Inga] They have this thin crepe

  • and then they have freshly shaved peanut

  • which they sprinkle on,

  • followed by two scoops of icy ice cream.

  • You can choose to put on cilantro if you want.

  • How excited are you?

  • - [Skyler] Very much excited.

  • - [Inga] So happy.

  • (upbeat music)

  • - Mm.

  • I wanna finish it.

  • - [Inga] Wait wait wait wait.

  • - It better taste good.

  • - Good.

  • Oh my god.

  • We found a classic.

  • Taiwanese fried chicken.

  • - [Skyler] It's called a baked (beep) piece of chicken.

  • - Gigantic piece of chicken.

  • You used to love eating this.

  • There's different spices.

  • And we're going with the original.

  • Look at how big it is!

  • It's so big!

  • (upbeat music)

  • This is a chicken feast!

  • You can choose to have it cut,

  • but we're doing it the OG way.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • This is ours, the chicken baby.

  • Oh!

  • This is your childhood favorite.

  • It's so big.

  • It's huge!

  • That is how big it is.

  • - Mm.

  • The batter is just right.

  • It's like not a lot, not a little.

  • (mumbling)

  • - [Inga] Don't talk with your mouth full.

  • (laughing)

  • Fries with plum powder.

  • - [Skyler] Big ass pancake.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • - Pork jerky.

  • They roast this in house.

  • I'm trying to find a trash can.

  • Can't find one.

  • This is the dragon beards candy I made.

  • Masters at work.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • Oh, he gave us one!

  • Just for funzies.

  • So nice!

  • Yo.

  • This is the real deal!

  • - [Skyler] It's so pretty.

  • - Look at how fluffy it is!

  • Definitely tastes better than what I made.

  • - [Skyler] KO.

  • - Practice makes perfect.

  • This is so hard to find nowadays!

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • It's a bit on the expensive side,

  • but it's gonna be worth it.

  • Right?

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • It's been braised for four hours.

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • (speaking in foreign language)

  • And lots of chili.

  • Oh the tendons.

  • - You have to eat it with the chili and uh--

  • - [Inga] The word is--

  • - What I need now is noodles.

  • That's the perfect combination.

  • - What is it, the beef dance?

  • This is my absolute favorite,

  • and that's Taiwanese stinky tofu.

  • It's deep fried so it's crunchy on the outside

  • and there's this beautiful sauce.

  • I eat this every time I come here.

  • It's super soft on the inside.

  • - [Skyler] Oo, the smell.

  • - I love it.

  • Want one?

  • - [Skyler] No thank you.

  • - [Inga] There, I finished it.

  • Are you getting full?

  • This is the most famous stall here.

  • They sell (speaking in foreign language)

  • which is pepper beef filling

  • in this really good sal-by.

  • Look at this line!

  • (laughing)

  • This is gonna be a long wait.

  • What I love about this place

  • is that they make everything here at the night market.

  • It's so fresh.

  • So exciting.

  • - [Skyler] How many are we getting?

  • - One.

  • We already had so much food!

  • I wish I could eat more.

  • I wish I had five stomachs.

  • Right on the spot.

  • Alright, we made it.

  • I don't know how, that was a lot of food.

  • - Nah, it wasn't enough.

  • For me.

  • This is probably why I gain like 10 pounds

  • every single time I come here.

  • I'm here in a few days again.

  • Sh.

  • (laughing)

  • (upbeat music)
