  • Hello! I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!

    哈囉,我是 mmmEnglish 的 Emma!

  • If I put these verbs in front of you, you'd probably tell me

    如果我把這兩個動詞放在你面前,

  • that they're simple!

    你可能會告訴我這很簡單!

  • They're easy! You know them, right?

    它們是很簡單!你認識它們對吧?

  • These are simple verbs.

    這兩個都是簡單動詞。

  • But they are quite similar to each other.

    但它們非常相似。

  • It could be hard to decide which one to use, sometimes.

    有時候你可能很難決定要用哪個動詞。

  • So in this lesson, we'll take a closer look

    所以這堂課,

  • at the differences between them

    我們要探索這兩個動詞之間的差異,

  • so that you can feel more confident when you use them.

    讓你更有自信地使用它們。

  • Am I going?

    我要去嗎?

  • Or am I coming?

    或我要來嗎?

  • These two verbs both describe movement between the person speaking and someone else.

    這兩個動詞都在描述說話者和其他人之間的動作。

  • Or something else.

    或是其他事情。

  • But the difference is in the direction of the movement.

    但不同的地方是移動的方向。

  • When you use come,

    當你用 come (來),

  • the movement is from somewhere else

    是從其他地方,

  • to where the speaker is.

    移動到說話者的地方。

  • And when I say somewhere else,

    而我說的其他地方,

  • that could be the other side of the world,

    可能是世界的另一端,

  • or it could just be the other side of the room.

    或可能是其他房間。

  • It doesn't matter!

    不論哪裡都不影響!

  • What is important is the direction of the movement.

    重要的是移動的方向。

  • From somewhere, to the speaker.

    從某個地方到說話者所在的地方。

  • So in this case, it's me.

    所以在這個情況下,是我。

  • So it's from somewhere, to the speaker.

    從某個地方到說話者所在的地方。

  • Are you coming to our house for dinner tonight?

    你今晚會來我們家共進晚餐嗎?

  • Are you coming to Melbourne next month?

    下個月你會來墨爾本嗎?

  • Tell me when you're coming to Australia.

    當你要來澳洲時,要告訴我喔!

  • Go is usually used when the movement happens in the

    Go (去) 常被用在

  • opposite direction.

    相反方向的移動。

  • From, where the speaker is

    從說話者所在的地方,

  • to another place.

    到另一個地方。

  • Are you going to Thailand for the holidays?

    你要去泰國度假嗎?

  • So here, the speaker lives somewhere else,

    所以在這個情況下,說話者住在某個地方,

  • not in Thailand.

    而不是住在泰國。

  • And they're not in Thailand at the time of speaking.

    而且他們說話的時候也不是在泰國。

  • Are you going to Ben's party on Friday?

    星期五你會去 Ben 的派對嗎?

  • So that's from the place, where you are

    從你所在的地方,

  • or you usually are, to Ben's party.

    到 Ben 的派對。

  • Now if I was at Ben's party and I called you,

    如果我在 Ben 派對上,然後我打給你,

  • I could say,

    我可以問:

  • "Are you coming to Ben's party?"

    「你會來 Ben 的派對嗎?」

  • So I'm asking if you'll move

    也就是說我問你,

  • from the place where you are, to Ben's party.

    你是否會從你所在的地方來 Ben 的派對。

  • So I used come.

    所以我使用 come (來)。

  • So far, so good, right?

    到目前為止還可以吧?

  • Now you might be talking about another person,

    現在你可能會說到另一個人,

  • someone who is not the speaker

    不是說話者,

  • or the listener.

    也不是傾聽者。

  • You're talking about other people.

    你是在說其他人,

  • Or something else.

    或是其他事情。

  • And this is where things can get a little tricky!

    在這裡,事情可能會變得有點詭異!

  • Because you can use either come or go

    因為你可以使用 come 或 go。

  • Look at this example.

    來看這個例子。

  • My mum came to help me.

    我的媽媽過來幫我。

  • So this is simple,

    因為我是這個動作中的接收者,

  • because I'm part of this activity.

    所以這很好懂。

  • She came to me.

    她過來我這裡。

  • But here, my mum went to help my brother.

    但再看這個例子,我的媽媽去幫我的哥哥。

  • My mum came to help my brother.

    我的媽媽過來幫我的哥哥。

  • Now both of these sentences are correct.

    這兩個句子都是正確的。

  • I could use either come or go.

    我可以使用 come 或 go。

  • But it depends on whose viewpoint I take.

    但這取決於我站在哪一邊的看法。

  • Which person, who's involved in the activity

    我要以哪一方的立場,

  • am I describing or giving information about?

    去描述或是給予資訊?

  • You use go when you're using the viewpoint

    當你的立場站在正在做動作的人那方的話,

  • of the person doing the action.

    你會使用 go (去)。

  • My mum went to help my brother.

    我的媽媽去幫我的哥哥。

  • My mum is doing the action.

    我的媽媽正在做動作。

  • And you use come,

    當你站在接收者那方的話,

  • when you use the receiver's viewpoint,

    也就是接收動作的人的觀點來看,

  • the person who is receiving the action.

    你會使用 come (來)。

  • My mum came to help my brother.

    我的媽媽過來幫我的哥哥。

  • So my brother is receiving the action.

    所以我的哥哥正接收動作。

  • So we've used come.

    所以我們會用 come。

  • Now these two verbs are made much clearer

    現在,通過一道門,

  • with a door.

    會使這兩個動詞會變得更清楚。

  • 'Come in' and 'go in' are both ways to instruct someone

"Come in" 和 "go in" (進入),

  • to enter a room or a building.

    都是指示某人進入房間或建築物的方式。

  • But, there's a difference!

    但有一個差別!

  • So now both you and I are outside together.

    現在你和我都在門外,

  • So I can say to you, "let's go in"

    我可以對你說:「我們進去吧!」

  • Let's go from where we are,

    我們從我們所在的地方,

  • to another place, or inside.

    到另一個地方或是進去裡面。

  • Or when I'm inside, and you're outside,

    或是當我在裡面,你在外面時,

  • I can say "Come in".

    我可以說:「進來。」

  • Move from where you are, towards me.

    從你所在的地方朝我移動。

  • Come inside the house.

    進到這個房子。

  • Okay so let's change the context.

    我們現在改變一下情境。

  • Are you coming to Sarah's wedding?

    你會來 Sarah 的婚禮嗎?

  • So this suggests,

    這個表示,

  • that the speaker will also be at the wedding.

    說話者將會在婚禮上。

  • Are you going to Sarah's wedding?

    你會去 Sarah 的婚禮嗎?

  • Now this suggests that the speaker

    現在這個說法表示,

  • may be not going there.

    說話者可能不會去婚禮。

  • Or maybe they haven't decided yet.

    或是他們都還沒做決定。

  • Are you going to visit your sister?

    你會去拜訪你的姐姐嗎?

  • So that's in a place that is away from the listener's

    因此,該位置與傾聽者

  • current place.

    目前的位置不同。

  • Are you coming to visit your sister?

    你會來拜訪你的姐姐嗎?

  • And here, we're being a bit more specific.

    在這裡,我們要更具體一點。

  • The listener is in a different place.

    傾聽者現在在不同地方,

  • But, they'll move to the location of their sister.

    但他們將搬到姐姐所在的位置。

  • And probably the speaker too.

    也許說話者也是。

  • So there you have it!

    所以你懂了!

  • Some really important differences

    請記住這兩個動詞 go 和 come之間,

  • to keep in mind about the verbs, go and come.

    有一些重要的差別。

  • You thought they were simple,

    你以為這很簡單,

  • but maybe you learnt

    但也許你學到了,

  • a couple of new things about using them.

    一些如何使用它們的新知識。
